It's been a full week since my last entry here and I would just like to take a moment to apologize to those of you who visit daily and expect fresh material.
To be perfectly honest, I was worn out as I experienced a perfect storm of life events last week that demanded my full and immediate attention.
I'm glad to be back in the saddle again and feel the best way to get back into the swing of things is to include a list of some of my random thoughts on this Monday 10/20:
- Nothing happened on October 14, 2008. Obviously, the predicted "First Contact" event was nothing but another elaborate hoax. Actually, that's not entirely true given some of the recent explanations (rebuttals?) coming from the New Age camp, but I'll save that for another time. What was completely fascinating to me during the week and days leading up to 10/14 was just how much buzz and genuine interest people had in the subject. Visitors to this website increased by 200% due to people reading the 4-part series I published on the topic. Hopefully, many of those who visited could see that I was only trying to point out my reasons for believing that the whole thing was satanic in origin if it did in fact manifest as predicted. Still, there were those who "called me out" and wanted me "to admit that you have been fooled" by this. Ok. Sure. I have no problem admitting that. Did I think something big and supernatural was going to happen on October 14th? In the words of Sarah Palin, you betcha! With EVERYTHING else that's going on in this world (concurrently) I just thought it all made perfect sense, and I wouldn't have been surprised in the least bit if something had happened. Am I embarrassed that nothing happened as one visitor asked? No, because my goal has always been the same from the time I launched this site - I wanted to merely reporting on the news from around the world that I believed had prophetic implications so that you could decide what to make of it and do with it. If nothing else, I want people to realize that we're living in some fascinating times or, the times the Bible speaks about. Our time is short.
- Should a Christian willingly step into the mine fields of hate, intolerance, and bigotry in an attempt to plant seeds of faith? One thing I've been debating with myself over for a few weeks now is whether or not I should spend some time each day visiting message boards and chat forums that are hostile to religion and Christianity. Part of me feels as if I should attempt to plants seeds of faith in the hopes that God will use them to reach some lost souls who desperately need Him. Clearly, I can think of many pros and cons with this idea. What do you think? Stay tuned since I may try this and then report my findings here.
- Does anyone else feel as if we're on the cusp of another major prophetic event? It could just be a byproduct of studying prophecy and seeing the connections with news headlines each and every day, but I keep getting a sense that we're all standing on the edge of a great cliff and that if we're not careful something is going to sneak up on us and try to push us over the edge sending our lives into complete and utter chaos. Do you get that feeling as well? Perhaps it will be the upcoming U.S. Presidential Election or, it could be the new international financial system that is sure to take effect in the wake of this global economic crisis. It could be something entirely different and off of our radar at the moment. Whatever it is, there's something palpable in the air and it's driving me nuts!
- I would like to get to know many of you better. One of the greatest things to come from this online ministry is the relationships that have been created by other Christians commenting on articles, sharing their thoughts and ideas, and/or providing encouragement when you need it most. Sadly, I hate to admit it, but I haven't been the best at following up with many of you. For that I am sorry. I'm going to make more of an effort to engage in the on-going discussions with you since I greatly appreciate your time and interest.
