I've reached a conclusion (at least one that works for me) about the nature of how Synchronicity works as well as its relationship to Christianity and Biblical prophecy.
It seems to manifest itself in the creative arts (movies, television, music, radio, magazines, comics, video games, news etc.) more than anywhere else, and each time it does it leaves a pattern behind, which at first appears unrelated unless you're actually looking for it.
It's sort of like a small "head's up" (if it's really the "Hand of God" as Carl Jung proposed, is it like a warning of some sort from God? could this be one way that God communicates with the world today?) that tells us what to expect.
So, even if we're not consciously looking for such things the general theme and constant thread of similarity through it all actually conditions our conscience and soul to such a reality (to the point we subconsciously absorb and internalize it) as a means of perhaps preparing us for the future. I'm getting ahead of myself, but hopefully that gives you some idea about my thoughts on the subject.
I'll admit to you from the start that this piece is just bizarre with a capital "B" (big shocker there, huh?). Even I'm not entirely sure what to make of all of this - and I'm the type of person who believes in some pretty non-traditional and underground ideas and concepts!
However, I want to report on this to further illustrate that we may be on to something when it comes to the "Synchronicity-Bible Prophecy" connection I've been shouting about throughout the blogosphere lately.
I'm not sure how it is for those of you who are also writers and bloggers, but for me it's always intrigued me how these ideas seem to "find me" instead of the other way around. I've always attributed it to a crude form of "divine inspiration" (please don't confuse that statement with me claiming to be a prophet of any kind though) and listened to that voice within.
This week has been no exception to that rule, and sure enough we have yet another case of this strange phenomenon in action since this follows the "Where-Is-America-In-Bible-Prophecy" meme that's been presented in this space these last few days.
MY COUNTRY 'TIS OF THEE...
It's an unusual story about a game called "Shattered Union" and how the specifics of that game eerily parallel real-world happenings today even though the game is a fictional depiction of a future America, and despite the fact that it was imagined and created many years ago.
In 2005, 2K Games released a turn-based tactics computer game called Shattered Union. Instead of me giving you a brief description of what the storyline consists of I'll simply let you review the trailer for this game that's included below for your viewing pleasure. Then we can come back here and revisit things in greater detail.
If this is your first time visiting Look Up Fellowship the first thing I want to do is thank you for taking the time to stop by, and the second thing I want to do is ask you to please go back to the Archives about 1 week and begin reading all entries from then until now since it will provide you with some very important context, which is needed to really help this column have the impact I intend for it to have.
Well, as a red-blooded, born and raised, patriotic American that was fun to watch, eh? Let's get right to it - did anything about that 2 minute trailer strike you as being rather peculiar? How about prescient?
Let's stop for a moment and consider that this game was released in 2005, which means the storyline had to have been created and developed and finalized at least a year earlier in 2004. Given the political climate that existed following President George Bush winning a second term (after it was charged he "stole the election" in 2000) I can understand how a game like this could be made soon after.
However, what I do have a hard time believing is how something that was created as mere fantasy and child's play - a game - can be so very accurate that it clearly echoes EXACTLY what is occurring in this country and the world today. How do we account for and explain that?
ELEMENTARY, MY DEAR WATSON!
Perhaps we should take another look at the story and the eerie parallels with real-world 2008. Keep in mind that the sections written in bold are taken DIRECTLY from the game manufacturer's description of the game's storyline.
"In 2009, following George W. Bush's eight year term in office, David Jefferson Adams is elected the 44th President of the United States of America following a disputed election and a tie vote in the Electoral College (and subsequent tie-breaker by the United States House of Representatives), becoming the most unpopular president in U.S. history."
Forget the names that are being used as that's immaterial. Simply look at the scenario that's being presented here and it's absolutely mind-boggling! This story called "Shattered Union" BEGINS with a "disputed election" involving the "44th President of the United States" in such a manner that involves the Electoral College and U.S. House of Representatives. Are you kidding me!?! Anyone who's followed this blog in the past two months let alone just the past few days knows all about the potential constitutional crisis that is brewing over Barack Obama's citizenship and subsequent eligibility to run for office to become the 44th President.
It's amazing that the game's creators nailed this one so many years in advance, but one coincidence and "lucky guess" hardly makes a "conspiracy" so let's continue to look at how the facts stack up.
"A dramatic amount of civil unrest and rioting springs up all throughout the United States, resulting in domestic terrorism. In response, President Adams uses the Homeland Security Act and declares Martial Law on many areas of the country."
Hmmm, that's interesting too because this is EXACTLY the legal apparatus that would be used to institute Martial Law in this country. Additionally, it was back in early October when concerned citizens in various parts of the country begin to question whether or not the government had inside information about a coming crisis and that they were preparing for this possibility when the news reported that for the first time in U.S. history the federal government was going to be using the military on the streets as a police force despite being in direct violation of the U.S. Constitution. Personally, it's not too far-fetched to think that if Martial Law was imposed on society and people had reason to believe their federal government was a complete sham (and that the Constitution was being trampled on) that perhaps they would rise up and try to fight for their protected rights so at least the game's creators invented a plausible scenario there.
Still, it's very odd that the game's creators were spot on regarding the first scenario, and now we can add another one to the mix. I wonder what the odds are for both to occur by chance?
"During the election of 2012, the Supreme Court disqualifies all the presidential candidates from holding office, effectively awarding Adams with a second term. The public reacts violently when incumbent Adams accepts his next term. During the Inauguration Day in Washington, D.C. on January 20, 2013, a low-yield nuclear weapon is detonated, destroying the city, killing Adams, his cabinet, and most of the U.S. Congress. The United States plunges into chaos."
Again, forget the name of this fictional President. What I find striking is how the game's makers now go a step further by surmising that the U.S. Supreme Court could have a significant role in determining who wins the Presidency. No surprise there, since we've already established a loose precedent in the previous two elections (2008 results pending SCOTUS review as I write this). Plus, we've been told that a President Obama could have the opportunity to appoint a few new judges to the Court during his administration. Given his actions to date (i.e. using the law to removing his opponents from the ballot in his very first election campaign and now using the law to shield himself from having to provide an authentic legal document in the form of a Birth Certificate) a President Obama could very well be the type of political figure (due to the precedent he's already established) who could fit this mold. It's crazy how much of this "fictional" story seems to correlate with the potential near future that's before us today, isn't it?
Also, the entire "nuclear explosion" aspect is chilling given the constant nuclear threat we're told is very real. I know that up until this point I've asked you to consider the strange relationship between the dates and time frame being used, but if we ignore them for just a moment and remember that Joe Biden and Colin Powell (both within days of one another) publicly spoke about a major "international crisis" that would happen either "within the next 6 months" or around "Inauguration Day" that forces one to question the odds of now 3-4 aspects of this "fictional" story, created 4-5 years ago, being so in sync with real-world geopolitics as they exist in late November 2008.
"The European Union parliament meets in an emergency session and votes to send peacekeepers to the greater D.C. area to secure international interests. Separatist sentiment begins to rise in America. On national television, the governor of California declares home rule and secedes from the Union on April 15, 2013. Texas follows a few days later, taking neighboring states with them and re-forming the Republic of Texas. By 2014, all hopes for a peaceful resolution are gone, and the Second American Civil War begins."
Let's just take that last statement about a Second American Civil War. Strange since it was only days before Election Day when we read in the news about how some felt an Obama loss would result in the next American Civil War. What a shocking statement. Can you remember the last time someone uttered something like that or said they felt like it was a very real scenario? I can't, which makes the media attention on such an absurd comment seem ridiculous. Maybe you can if you're one of those people who has a "crazy uncle" type in your family who believes "crazy things," but even then it's rare that a person's comments would be elevated to the level of importance that the media gave it back then. I saw that story in several places from several different sources. Why is it even news at all? Why not just ignore it as "crazy talk" and stick to reporting on other things more important and relevant just days before the Election?
Ah, but this seems to be the nature of how Synchronicity works!
Let's quickly look at another section of this part of the story. It talks about "separatist sentiment" and in the game you can choose to play as one of 6 United States "factions" - "California Commonwealth," "The Confederacy," "Great Plains Federation," "New England Alliance," "Pacifica," or "The Republic of Texas." Why is that interesting? Yesterday, Russian Professor Igor Panarin made international headlines when he said he envisions the decline and breakup of the United States. So what, right? Well, would it interest you to know that he now predicts the split-up of the United States into 6 parts!?! He even named the territories as though he was sitting there playing this very game at the time of his interview! If I'm lyin', I'm dyin'! See the link for yourself for the full story, but from the article...
"He predicted that the U.S. will break up into six parts - the Pacific coast, with its growing Chinese population; the South, with its Hispanics; Texas, where independence movements are on the rise; the Atlantic coast, with its distinct and separate mentality; five of the poorer central states with their large Native American populations; and the northern states, where the influence from Canada is strong."
It gets even crazier though! He even boldly suggested that Russia could claim Alaska saying, "we could claim Alaska - it was only granted on lease, after all." Why does that just send this whole analysis over the top?
From the game's description of the story: "Early in the war, the Russian Federation militarily annexes Alaska, using the expanded operations of the European Union as an excuse. The invasion is personally led by President Nicholai Vladekov, an ex-general and former Soviet hardliner, claiming that Alaska was never really part of the United States and that Russia was merely reclaiming its former territory."
One word: UNBELIEVABLE! One coincidence is just that - a coincidence. Yet, what do you make of two, three, four, five coincidences like this that are all in one place, included in the same storyline, all "predicted" as a plausible scenario 4-5 years ago, and all having a legitimate and tangible connection to world news headlines that exist in THE ACTUAL TIME PERIOD THEY WANTED THE GAME TO DEPICT?
I'm not sure what the answers to those questions are so for now I'll stick with Synchronicity to explain it all. Even the most militant skeptic would have to concede some ground on this one.
SHATTERED UNION, SHATTERED UNIVERSE, VEIL BEING LIFTED?
Students of prophecy know that "knowledge will increase" in the end times and that things will be "unsealed" and "revealed" at the appropriate time - God's perfect timing according to His perfect will.
Is this a clear example of a fulfillment of this prophecy? It could very well be the case. I mean, what else could it be except an insane series of coincidences? I find that highly unlikely given the probability of that occurring by chance or even by an educated guess a few years back.
Please understand that I'm not suggesting that the developers of this game have any foresight into the future or that they're part of a sinister group behind the scenes pulling the geo-political strings to all that happens in the world. Besides, God is the One who allows the plans of man to fail or succeed according to His perfect plan for mankind and whether or not they will fulfill His purposes in their perfect timing.
That doesn't seem to be how Synchronicity works for the most part anyway. Sure, there may be some groups who do consciously try to control the flow of information in a very specific way to send a very specific and symbolic message to their constituents and the masses, but typically it seems as though cases of Synchronicity usually just show up in the most unexpected and unanticipated places, and it's up to us to find the connections and relationships.
Oh yeah, just in case there is something to all of this, it's also worth noting how the game reveals that the story ends when, "Later, INTERPOL reveals the results of its investigation regarding the Inauguration Day bombing. Russian President Vladekov had been dealing weapons on the black market for several years and masterminded the D.C. bombing so Russia could regain its military dominance and more easily control Europe. Protests throughout Russia force Vladekov to declare Martial Law in Moscow. After the former continental United States is unified under one faction, the Independent Commonwealth of Hawaii agrees to join the new government. Vladekov refuses to cede control of Alaska, so the faction's forces marshal to invade the state and drive the Russians out of the New World."
Now, in an effort to tie this all together and prove that there's something very real and disconcerting about the phenomenon known as Synchronicity, I give you another important piece to this prophetic puzzle that also resonates with this same line of thinking - minus the "disputed election" part.
The show was known as "Jericho" and it was a very popular CBS drama (perhaps because it hit a nerve with others) put out by CBS in 2006 - just 1 year after Shattered Union was released worldwide.
Like I said before, I'm still not quite sure what to make of any of this, but even the most hardened skeptic has to admit that there's something strange - something supernatural - going on here.
If today's commentary blew your mind just wait until you read about how a man by the name of John Titor and Einstein's Theory of Relativity might play a role in all of this.
Looks like the good Lord just gave me another conversation starter!

You want to know the scary part?
My dreams foretold this.
I just found you because my grandson brought this game home tonight and I could not believe what I saw. The Lord has been showing me many things lately and I KNOW IT'S HIM. PRAISE GOD...."chills".
Anonymous....may I ask if you are a Christian? I have been having dreams too.
