Everyone has heard something about this prophecy that says that in the last days no one will be able to buy or sell anything unless they get the "Devil's Mark" more commonly referred to as the "Mark of the Beast."
Today, we are the first generation with the technology available to fulfil such a prophecy of a "cashless" society. Infact, we've been gradually moving in this direction for years. For instance, think about how every item in your shopping cart is barcoded with its own personal identification number. Even credit and debit cards have played a role in preparing us all for this very scenario. And it's all thanks to the wonderful world of RFID technology.
So, you can see we are on the fast track to eliminating cash - and there are many compelling reasons why. Cash is the very mother's milk of drug smugglers who often deal in cash a suitcase full at a time. It's thought that if you eliminate cash you would virtually eliminate almost every kind of criminal activity from theft to terrorism, and it would be an instant cure for many of the World's most desperate social and economic ills. No wonder governments are pushing towards the cashless society with unrestrained enthusiasm.
However, before cash, checks, and credit cards can be phased out completely, they have to develop an identification system that is absolutely foolproof and one that will ensure that a person engaged in a financial transaction is actually the owner of the monetary funds they wish to access to use to purchase things.
That's where biometrics and the latest cutting edge RFID technology comes in. It's also where this report from the UK today becomes relevant.
Forget fingerprinting. Companies in Europe have begun to roll out an advanced biometric system from Japan that identifies people from the unique patterns of veins inside their fingers. Finger vein authentication, introduced widely by Japanese banks in the last two years, is claimed to be the fastest and most secure biometric method. Developed by Hitachi, it verifies a person's identity based on the lattice work of minute blood vessels under the skin.
Easydentic Group, a European leader in the biometric industry based in France, has announced that it will be using Hitachi's finger vein security in a range of door access systems for the UK and European markets.
In Japan, thousands of cash machines are operated by finger vein technology. Hitachi announced today that it will introduce 20,000 finger vein authentication systems at shops and kiosks belonging to two Japanese companies, which will use the devices to protect the privacy of customer information by requiring storeworkers to authenticate themselves before accessing the customer database.
So, there you have it. This science fiction is already science fact as other parts of the world have been using this type of technology for quite some time and with quite some success. One most wonder how much longer before the technology finds its way to North America. Perhaps this weekend's meeting between 20 world leaders in Washington D.C. to discuss implementing a new global financial system will have something to say about that.
For those of you who are new to this aspect of Biblical Prophecy it's important to understand that it's not the technology itself that's inherently evil, but that it's EXACTLY the type of technology that the coming Antichrist will use to usher in his one-world totalitarion government to extend his control over the world's population. Oh yeah, it was only this past Monday when Britain's Prime Minister publicly called for the establishment of a one-world government as the ultimate solution to solving the planet's problems.
This is merely another sign of the times for all you skeptics out there. Ask yourself whether or not it's more than a little strange that all the things that were prophesied thousands of years ago in the Holy Bible (with such specific detail too) are now happening all around us - at the same time.
Surely, that removes the element of "pure chance" and "coincidence," and instead elevates it to the status of full-blown fulfillment of prophecy, correct? I mean, isn't that what logic would dictate?
Then again, Jesus spoke of the skeptics of the day too when he said in 2 Peter 3:3-5, "First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, 'Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.' But they deliberately forget..."
Don't be one of those people who "deliberately forgets" what He had to say about these days we are living in.
"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws near." Luke 21:28
