Bye, Bye, Miss American Pie (PART 4)

NOTE: In Part 1 of this series, we looked at the Supreme Court's ruling on the eligibility of President-elect Barack Obama, discussed the mainstream media's role in the entire saga, and turned the spotlight on deception and corruption that is left unchecked these days. In Part 2, we examined the existence and importance of song in the Holy Bible. In Part 3, we offered what is perhaps the first message from Synchronicity (God's way of communicating with the unsaved in this world by using their preferred methods of communication?) in all of this. Now, we'll look at the second strange coincidence and connection that came to my mind yesterday, and try to figure out why God allowed that to happen and what it could mean for us as a nation prophetically speaking. I can assure you that it's even more amazing than the first!

The introduction from Part 3 is so important that it cannot be overstated because it serves as the foundation for our entire study in this series. That being said, please allow me to quickly reiterate my position.

I've reached a conclusion (at least one that works for me) about the nature of how Synchronicity works as well as its relationship to Christianity and Biblical prophecy.

It seems to manifest itself in the creative arts (movies, television, music, radio, magazines, comics, video games, news etc.) more than anywhere else, and each time it does it leaves a pattern behind, which at first appears unrelated unless you're actually looking for it.

It's sort of like a small "head's up" that tells us what to expect. If it's really the "Hand of God" as Carl Jung proposed, is it like a warning of some sort from God? Could this be one way that God communicates with the world today? I mean, we know from 2 Peter 3:9 that, "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" so perhaps this is His way of trying to get the unsaved world's attention by using their preferred methods and modes of communication that take precedence over the Holy Bible, which is His preferred method of revealing Himself to us.

So, even if we're not consciously looking for such things the general theme and constant thread of similarity through it all actually conditions our conscience and soul to such a reality (to the point we subconsciously absorb and internalize it) as a means of perhaps preparing us for the future. I'm getting ahead of myself, but hopefully that gives you some idea about my thoughts on the subject.

I can assure you that today's study and subsequent reading will leave you speechless. It will probably also make your head spin, cause you to sit up with glorious anticipation, and also cause you to question if what you just learned was accurate. At least, that was my exact response to the following information.

There's just so much going on in my head these days I feel like it might explode! The pieces of this prophetic puzzle for the end times are starting to fall into place. I just hope I can try to put the puzzle together before the devil comes to kick the pieces everywhere. All kidding aside, lately the Lord has been pulling me in a number of different directions and I've been feeling a little overwhelmed that I may not be able to stay on top of so many important developments and report on them here. As always, however, not by my power alone, but by His!

At the same time, I know I must be on to something or at least doing what I'm supposed to be doing with all of this because as the veil is lifted I'm beginning to notice some rather fierce spiritual attacks from our common enemy. Lord give me the strength to overcome!


AMERICAN PIE


Remember hearing Don McLean's song "American Pie" for the first time? My first memory of the 1972 hit was from back in the eighties (when I was probably about 10 or so), sitting in a car with my dad waiting for my mom to come out of a store, and asking him what the words meant. Here it is, almost 20 years later, and I'm still pondering what the whole thing means. I thought about that song today especially given what many people over the years (and recently) claim it alludes to. More Synchronicity? Perhaps.

First, here's the song with the lyrics to follow.

When asked what "American Pie" meant, McLean replied, "It means I never have to work again." Later, he more seriously stated, "You will find many 'interpretations' of my lyrics but none of them by me... sorry to leave you all on your own like this but long ago I realized that songwriters should make their statements and move on, maintaining a dignified silence."

McLean has generally avoided responding to direct questions about the song, except to acknowledge that he did first learn about Buddy Holly's death while folding newspapers for his paper route on the morning of February 4th, 1959 (referenced in the song). Despite this, many fans of McLean, amongst others, have attempted an interpretation resulting in both controversy and intense listener interest in the song for the last 35 years. Fascinating how a song can remain popular and a mega hit despite being 35 years old, isn't it?

Perhaps they were fueled by statements he would later make. McLean did offer some clues to the song's meaning when he said, "I'm very proud of the song. It is biographical in nature and I don't think anyone has ever picked up on that. The song starts off with my memories of the death of Buddy Holly. But it moves on to describe America as I was seeing it and how I was fantasizing it might become, so it's part reality and part fantasy but I'm always in the song as a witness or as even the subject sometimes in some of the verses."

It is my contention that the good Lord may be using this song these past 35 years (through the very real phenomenon known as Synchronicity or, His way of communicating with the unsaved world using their preferred method of communication) to get our attention and warn us of what's to come. More on that in the fifth and final part to this series.

Before I reveal the groundbreaking work of Roy Taylor on this very subject I will ask that you please recall what we discovered in Part 2 of this series - that there is a definite precedent that has been given in the Holy Bible that clearly shows God using song for this very purpose.
