Bye, Bye, Miss American Pie (PART 5)

NOTE: In Part 1 of this series, we looked at the Supreme Court's ruling on the eligibility of President-elect Barack Obama, discussed the mainstream media's role in the entire saga, and turned the spotlight on deception and corruption that is left unchecked these days. In Part 2, we examined the existence and importance of song in the Holy Bible. In Part 3, we offered what is perhaps the first message from Synchronicity (God's way of communicating with the unsaved in this world by using their preferred methods of communication?) in all of this. In Part 4, we briefly touched upon another song and its strange history in connection with this entire study. Now, I'll attempt to wrap things up by looking at what some other religious scholars have to say about all this while at the same time interjecting with my own thoughts on the matter. Hopefully, you'll wind up with the same conclusion as I did - that what began as another bizarre "theory" ended up being a significant warning from God to the world.


I realize that what I'm presenting here is heavy stuff, and it may be difficult to hang in there over these past couple of days through to the end. So, if you've made it this far I want to thank you. I think you'll enjoy the conclusions below after seeing some of the things that I found that seem to - once again - confirm that we are definitely in the end time, and a lot closer to complete chaos than we think.

First, if I were to give advice to any serious student of Bible prophecy about how one should approach these issues today I think I would start by sharing something that author Grant Jeffrey once wrote:

"Many sincere students of prophecy have previously calculated dates for the fulfilling of these events, only to see the dates come and go, disproving their calculations. The result, of course, is that the world and most Christians tend to ridicule or ignore all prophecy completely. However, this attitude in unjustified. What other area of study, biblical or otherwise, is abandoned because earlier efforts failed to arrive at a complete understanding of the subject? If scholars had abandoned the study of such sciences as geology or physics simply because earlier theories proved to be inaccurate, there would be few scientists and little scientific knowledge today. We learn from the failures as well as the successes of early biblical scholars. We must avoid being dogmatic in setting dates so that we can have an open mind to interpret the data carefully and purposefully. Time alone will reveal whether or not we have correctly understood a specific prophecy. Jesus rebuked the spiritual leaders of Israel for not recognizing the signs of the Messiah's coming, which had been extensively prophesied in the Old Testament. In light of the tremendous number of prophecies regarding 'this generation' and Christ's command to 'Watch,' we should prudently inquire into what Scripture reveals about the timing of these important future events." From Armageddon: Appointment With Destiny, Pages 212-213


Boy, that seems to sum everything up quite nicely doesn't it? I realize he's primarily addressing those who shun "date-setters," but his message could also apply to those who look for clues as to who the Antichrist might be or, even those who want to better understand how other major and unfulfilled prophetic events might play out on the world stage in the near future. In other words, it can apply to those of us considering some of the statements made in this five part series.

Regardless, the point is that we need to keep an open mind as lovers of truth. It's EXACTLY why I decided to put that "disclaimer" of sorts on the left-hand column of this website in the "Our Purpose" section. Recently, I was thinking to myself, man, you're all over the place with your thoughts! Here's the thing, when you start uncovering what appear to be lies (or "minor mistruths"), and get closer to the truth, it requires a re-evaluation of everything you thought you knew - more prayer, and more digging.

I'm not suggesting that EVERYTHING I'm presenting in this series should be taken as the undisputed truth, but I am suggesting that SOMEWHERE WITHIN EVERYTHING I'm presenting here there are pieces of the truth - pieces of the prophetic puzzle - that we can use to help us better understand things. The best way I can describe these things (this phenomenon) is to state that they are not the end-all-be-all (or that we're supposed to use them to replace the prophecies in the Bible), but things that help clarify our understanding (of the prophecies in the Bible).

The best description is to say that this phenomenon in pop culture is to prophecy what a concordance is to the Holy Bible.

Remember that we are to discover the truth and that discovering the truth requires real effort. As I've said for a long time now, you have to really want it. Why have I said this? Because the Bible said it first:

"Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God." Proverbs 2:2-5

It's no secret that lately I've been seeing that some of the ideas and interpretations we've held for so long may be just slightly off the mark. Not that this was done on purpose by those scholars who have come before us, but only because we needed real-world events to catch up to our understanding, and so as events unfold here on this planet these prophecies and our understanding of them come into a clearer focus.

It's in that frame of mind that I attempt to tackle prophecy in this forum, and I admire those who are open to considering a slightly different understanding for their passion and desire to find and understand the truth.


BRIDGING THE GAP BY CONNECTING THE DOTS


In Part 2 of this series we extensively looked at the existence and importance of song to God. Specifically, we looked at two songs in particular that seem to be extremely relevant to us today. Let's quickly review the "Song of Moses" so we can attempt to understand its current day application for us where we are with what we have.

What is this mysterious "Song of Moses," and what impact does it have on our age today - some 3,500 years since the time of Moses? The key to this lies in the Book of Deuteronomy. Just before Moses died, as the Israelites were about to enter into the Promised Land, Yehovah gave him a song that He instructed Moses to teach to the Israelites. Moses assembled all the people together to speak in their hearing this song. The song prophesies of the LATTER DAYS and the things that will befall the MODERN NATIONS OF ISRAEL because of their worshipping gods other than Yehovah - the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

This song will be EFFECTIVE in the purpose for which Yehovah gave it because, as we have seen in the Book of Revelation, a great multitude of people will come to understand its meaning and repent before their God. Let us now turn to the Book of Deuteronomy and get some background on this VITAL PROPHECY for us today.

In the Bible, God told Moses in Deuteronomy 31 to write a song. The song that Moses wrote, is recorded in Deuteronomy 32, and is commonly known as the "Song of Moses" and it is the climax of the ministry of Moses. The Song is believed to have been written down and placed in the Ark of the Covenant along with Aaron's staff and the Pentateuch. The Song of Moses was given as a witness, or testimony, towards the inevitable future rebellion of the Jews against God and the consequences thereof.

Here's what it sounds like:



Since Moses only wrote it under God's instructions, it wasn't really Moses' song; the song truly belongs to God and should have been called "God's Song" more appropriately. Even so, what can we learn from what God tells us about the purpose of this song?

Deuteronomy 31:16 - "And Jehovah saith unto Moses, 'Lo, thou art lying down with thy fathers, and this people hath risen, and gone a-whoring after the gods of the stranger of the land into the midst of which it hath entered, and forsaken Me, and broken My covenant which I made with it..."

Deuteronomy 31:21 - "And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles are befallen them, that THIS SONG shall testify against them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the land which I sware..."

Deuteronomy 31:29 - "For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands."

Notice in this prophecy that God did not say that a prophet would testify against them or that the hand-writing would be on the wall. Paraphrasing, He said that a "song would testify against the descendants of Israel, in the latter days." The "latter days," as we all know, is the phrase God uses to describe these end times or, those days preceding and up to the Battle of Armageddon.

This song was to be a WITNESS for Yehovah against the MODERN NATIONS OF ISRAEL. Yehovah did not intend for it to be forgotten, and caused it to be written down and preserved for us TODAY! Unfortunately, our peoples do not understand its meaning, or BELIEVE that Yehovah would do the very things the song describes. However, that does not alter the fact that the Eternal God intends for it to be a WITNESS AGAINST THE MODERN NATIONS OF ISRAEL IN THE LATTER DAYS - the very end time that we are living in today!

With that in mind, we must rediscover, publish, and teach this song throughout the world. It must go out as a WITNESS against our stiff-necked and rebellious peoples! The Eternal God says it SHALL NOT BE FORGOTTEN in the mouths of the descendants of the children of Israel!

Remember, this song is intended for the LATTER DAYS. Our peoples (those of the United States, Britain, and the democracies of Northwestern Europe) have been for a long time a perverse and crooked people. We have not sought the Eternal God or even remembered that it was He who established us in the high places of the earth. Moses stated that he was proclaiming the NAME OF YEHOVAH, His renown, what the Eternal God will be known and famous for. We are WARNED to remember the days of old; that when Yehovah divided up the nations, He separated and reserved the children of Israel and they became His own special people - a holy nation before the eternal. He made it plain to Moses that His name and renown would be FOREVER that He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The Eternal's people are Israel, and any who wish to worship Him must be SPIRITUALLY ADOPTED into His own special family - His own HOLY NATION.

The people of the world have forgotten the identity of the Eternal God, and in so doing have LOST THEIR OWN IDENTITY as the descendants of the children of Israel! We have DESPISED HIS LAWS! We WORSHIP OTHER GODS and assume that our man-made religions came from the Eternal God of the Bible. We have truly lost our way!

The apostle Paul, in writing to the Romans 10:19, quoted from Deuteronomy 32:21 when he wrote, "Again I ask, did Israel not understand? First Moses says, 'I will make you jealous of those who are not a nation; with a foolish nation I will make you angry.'"

Paul was addressing the "Gentile" Christians at Rome who were in fact descendants of the Lost Ten Tribes of Israel, and reminded them that they had Israel's promises. Our nations today will one day "remember the days of old," and realize that the promises made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob belong to them. THEY WILL FINALLY REMEMBER WHO THEY ARE AND RETURN TO HIM!


In Ezekiel 20:33 Yehovah swore with an oath that He would become their King "with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with WRATH POURED OUT..." This is the way this United States of ours and the other descendants of Israel are going to be brought to repentance and enter into the NEW COVENANT with our Heavenly Father when He returns to this earth to rule as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. For a chilling description of what this means for us read Deuteronomy 32:22-29.

Yehovah will kindle a fire in His anger. This "kindling" began at a definite time and will accomplish a certain result. It is described as devouring the earth with its increase. This pictures WORLD-WIDE DROUGHT and HEAT which will DESTROY THE FOOD AND FORAGE THAT THE EARTH PRODUCES. In His RIGHTEOUS ANGER Yehovah will cause unusual VOLCANIC ACTIVITY. Volcanic dust and ash can disrupt the climate patterns of the earth and produce drought in some areas and too much rain in others. Yehovah stated that He will HEAP EVILS upon our nations and spend His arrows upon us. He will WASTE us with hunger, starvation and drought. We will be PUNISHED AS NO OTHER NATIONS HAVE BEEN PUNISHED BEFORE! The wild animals of the earth will be turned against us. The poison of the crawling things of the dust in the teeth of beasts indicates what else is in store for us. We will be OVERCOME by our enemies who will have no mercy either upon the very young or the very old. Our Heavenly Father will cause our nations to have A SPIRIT OF EXTREME FEAR.

Yehovah God is going to REVEAL who He is, and will make it VERY PLAIN to our peoples that the Eternal God has brought this judgment upon us because WE ARE A NATION WITH NO UNDERSTANDING. Yehovah is not unjust or vengeful - our REBELLION and LUST AFTER OTHER GODS leaves Him no other choice.

Thus, this song is a WITNESS AGAINST MODERN-DAY ISRAEL. These events are to come upon us in the very near future and, in fact, have already begun.


EAT (UNDERSTAND) AMERICAN PIE SO WE CAN SING A BATTLE CRY OF FREEDOM!


Are these songs (mainly "American Pie") a prophecy written in word symbols? I know, it sounds like I've finally lost it. Only God knows for sure, but I must remind you of our previous looks at the very real and eerie phenomenon known as Synchronicity. Besides, there's too many ridiculous facts to simply shrug this all of as coincidence and/or "no big deal."

What do I mean? For example, would you begin to think there might be something to all of this if you were told that on the Capitol Record Silver Spotlight Series 45 RPM recording of the song "American Pie" (if you look very carefully at the record's label included below) you will find the words printed "Yahweh Tunes Inc.," which is a compelling coincidence given this discussion, is it not?


Yahweh is the modern form of the Hebrew name for God in the Old Testament commonly translated Jehovah. Given this fact, it's strange indeed that the record label's own name (whether done intentionally or subconsciously) seem to give the world legal notice that the song "American Pie" is in fact God's tune or "God's song." I'd love for a mathematician to tell me the odds of that happening by chance!

Of course, one coincidence could be laughed away, but did you notice the other major clue on this same record's label? The words "Mayday Music Inc." are there too! As we know, "mayday" is the word used when someone or some thing is in danger. This word is used for international situations of distress. The word, "mayday" gives indications that the song "American Pie" may in fact be a distress signal, warning America of terrible things yet to come. You will see this as we use the Bible "learn the song" later.

The plot thickens when you try to do some simple research into "Yahweh Tunes, Inc." and "Mayday Music, Inc." because both entities don't exist anywhere! It's like they're a complete figment of your imagination! Do a Google search and see for yourself. The only other creative work (besides other Don McLean songs) that I could connect both to is an obscure 1989 film titled, "Penn & Teller Get Killed" starring to two comedians in a story about what happens when Penn says on a talk show during an interview that he wishes he has someone threatening his life so that he "wouldn't sweat the small stuff." Each of them begins a series of pranks on the other to suggest a real threat only to find that a real psychopath is interested in them. Hmmm.

Did I find anything of interest regarding this movie? You bet I did! In this clip, a conversation begins about faith healers. The talk show host says, "Well, there must be something to it. A lot of people believe in that stuff." Penn responds with, "Best reason I know to question something." Ironic choice of words give what we're looking at in this series, no?

But the coup de gras had to be this little gem (you can skip past the gruesome parts and jump to the 3:28 mark and watch until about the 4:35 mark; the last few seconds are priceless!). Synchronicity revealing itself to us once more:



So, we have Penn telling us, "It's all there!" in reference to the true meaning of the song. Ok, a moment of sanity...Are we overanalyzing things here? Perhaps. I mean, that's a very real possibility. Then again, I ask you to simply consider everything else we've looked at in this series to date and add this new discovery to the mix. I still want a mathematician to tell me the odds of this song being chosen for a scene like this given what we're talking about here. I mean, out of all the songs that the filmmakers could've picked they pick that one? Are you kidding me!?! Yes, the film is connected to the same manufacturer as on the McLean album, but what are the odds that they would choose that song? Why throw that song in there at all? Why even include a song in a scene like that? It doesn't seem to fit when you watch the full clip.

Naturally, I also did a quick search to see what else I could find on that film when low and behold Synchronicity strikes again! At the top of the search results I found none other than a popular Penn & Teller YouTube video that apparently made the rounds just prior to the Election in which they were criticizing Barack Obama's proposed tax plan (NOTE: some foul language in this video clip).



Ahhh, Synchronicity strikes yet again! And so we come full circle since it was a story involving Obama that kicked off this five part series! But what does it all mean if anything!?!

Personally, whether this is God's way of using one man to get the unsaved world's attention by using something they would most likely be spending quite a bit of time with (in other words, I'm willing to bet that many lost souls spend more time listening to pop music than they do reading the Holy Bible) or not, I believe that "American Pie" could very well be a detailed prophecy concerning America's future, and a "funeral hymn," written in a "dirge" foretelling America's death. Even McLean admitted this himself.

I mean, how else do you explain something like this!?! To say man could possibly coordinate things to pull off not one, but two coincidences of this magnitude in relation to a song of this nature gives us too much credit I think.

Remember when I wrote that you will see things more clearly when you use the Bible to learn the song? What if I now told you that there seems to be EXTREMELY POWERFUL PROOF that God has used this #1 hit for the last 35 years to warn us about what was coming upon our nation (just like He used songs in the Bible to help the Israelites "remember" their past and their future), and that the proof I speak of could be found in the Book of Revelation or, the one book of the Bible (more than any other) that we associate with end times prophecy?

You'd probably think I was (a) crazy and in need of serious help, (b) think I had too much time on my hands and was finding "connections" and "meaning" where none existed, (c) might stop reading the rest of this article (if you haven't already), or (d) all of the above.

I realize how bizarre this all sounds, and I'm just as baffled by all of this as you most certainly are, but isn't that how God operates? He always seems to defy human logic and reasoning. Jericho ring a bell? Plus, isn't this how profound discoveries of any kind usually work? The begin in the realm of absurdity and end in the realm of reality.


RETRACING OUR STEPS...THE END IN SIGHT


As far as I can tell, while there are MANY songs in the Bible, there are two very important Songs in the Bible prophetically speaking - the "Song of Moses" and the "Song of the Lamb." We already referenced the "Song of Moses" in Deuteronomy. Where does the "Song of the Lamb" show up?

Would you believe that BOTH SONGS show up and are mention in THE SAME VERSE of Scripture? We find them in none other than the definitive book of unfulfilled prophecy - the Book of Revelation!

Revelation 15:3 - "And they sing the SONG OF MOSES the servant of God, and the SONG OF THE LAMB, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints."

What does this chapter tell us? Revelation 15 is the shortest chapter in the whole book, just eight verses long. It doesn’t give us any new information of events of the Tribulation. Rather, it is a prelude to the last round of judgments that God is going to send upon the earth. It is as though the Lord is warning, “Brace yourself, I have not yet finished judging the wickedness of the earth, there is more to come.” Revelation 15 is an introduction to the beginning of the end! As we look at Revelation 15, we will be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. However, in this case, it’s not a train; it’s our great and glorious God. It reminds us that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. In these eight verses, we are encouraged to celebrate God’s work and recognize His love for us.


Equally fascinating is that in verses 1-4 John uses the word "sign" in his description. The word “sign” refers to a symbol that is used to signify and teach an important truth. In this case, the sign is the seven angels who control seven last plagues. Ironic, since this ENTIRE five part series has been on the importance of seeing signs and symbols all around us, and even in the most unlikely places.

Let's look at another verse. In Revelation 15:2, John sees “something like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those who had been victorious over the beast and his image and the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, holding harps of God.” The “sea of glass” was first revealed in 4:6 and functioned as a mirror, reflecting God’s glory and majesty. The sea is also symbolic of God’s purity, holiness, and separation from His creation (Exodus 24:10; Ezekiel 1:22).

The sea is “mixed with fire,” which suggests the judgment that is about to come. The people standing on this sea are not identified. However, it is likely that they are tribulation martyrs (6:9-11; 7:9-17; 12:11; 14:1-5, 13). These have overcome the Beast, his image, and the number of his name (Revelation 12:11). The Beast refers to the Antichrist and his political system.
The image of the Beast refers to religious pressure to reject Christ, brought about by the False Prophet. Finally, the number of his name refers to economic pressure to reject Christ.

In 15:2, John also sees these victorious saints “holding harps of God.” Only four groups are mentioned as having harps in heaven: living creatures, elders (5:8), heavenly singers (14:2), and these tribulation saints. Harps were not given to all the martyred dead (7:9-17). The harps have a privileged position before God’s throne. They contribute greatly to the heavenly harmony of the chorus that the redeemed offer to God.

Often those who have been persecuted the most worship the most. Why is this? Typically, it is because these saints arrive at the realization that they have nothing or no one but God. The things of this world pass away. They are seen as fleeting and empty. This explains why often believers in other parts of the world worship with such fervency. The Lord is their life! If you’ve had a tough week and you’re feeling beat up by relationships, work, and the realities of life, be encouraged, the Lord is leading you into a fuller worship experience. He wants you to see Him as your all in all.

John writes that these victors, “sang the song of Moses, the bond-servant of God, and the song of the Lamb." The "Song of Moses" was a celebration of God’s miraculous deliverance from the wrath of the angel of death in Egypt, by means of the blood of lambs applied to the doorframes of their houses (Exodus 15). It was also a celebration of God’s deliverance from the Egyptian army as they passed through the Red Sea and their enemies were swept away. This great deliverance under Moses was a foreshadowing of the great deliverance that was accomplished by the true Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, whose blood must be applied by faith, to the heart of every man and woman who desires to be spared the wrath of God and delivered from His enemies.

What is the "Song of the Lamb" that's mentioned? The Song of the Lamb emphasizes the redemptive work and plan of God in Christ and His promise of deliverance through Christ’s shed blood on the cross. Both songs, the "Song of Moses" and the "Song of the Lamb," are the response of grateful hearts celebrating God’s merciful deliverance.

The lesson in this chapter is: Whenever we fail to repent in answer to God’s initial corrections and judgments, we can be sure that He will escalate our discomfort and hem us in with the purpose of turning us back to Himself. It is an act of His love to protect us from continuing on a course of spiritual self-destruction. But for those who fail to respond to His loving rebukes, He will inevitably pour out His final wrath.


Here's where men like Roy Taylor find an interesting connection. Remember, "American Pie" (according to its record label as seen and discussed above) is a claim that the song is "God's Song" (the property of Yahweh Tunes) and it is about a time of trouble (it's a song of warning by Mayday Music).

Could the "Song of the Lamb" referenced in the Book of Revelation be referring to another "Song of God" otherwise known as "American Pie" by a divinely inspired Don McLean (a modern day Moses type) who himself is an accidental, modern day prophet used by God for His purposes much like the shepards and kings were before our time?

Why not? Why is it "unacceptable" to think that God could use contemporary, 20th century people like Don McLean (and a medium that would reach many more unsaved people especially due to the fact that it has become a classic song worldwide that has reached millions for the past 35 years let alone all Americans or, the very people He may be trying to warn about the coming judgement) to speak to a nation and the world when He's clearly done it before?

Again, this all goes back to a commentary a few weeks back where I suggested that we all seem too quick to pick the things in the Bible that we want to believe in that make us feel good and that won't upset us, but we instantly reject any notions or ideas rooted in the truth of Scripture that cause us distress and force to reexamine our protected beliefs and ideas about how God operates in our lives and world because we've put them all into a nice little box all these years.

Doesn't the Bible also tell us in Joel 2:28 that "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions" so why are we so quick to dismiss this and relegate it to the fringe of relevance? Even Acts 2:17-18 gives us the same prophecy for these end times.

This is not the time or the place for me to write to you about Taylor's 19 hours of lecture on this subject recorded on 13 cassette tapes back in the day. However, suffice it to say that he has done some amazing work that deserves some attention. It's clear he took the time to do his homework and research before making each and every statement as evidenced by his verse-by-verse analysis (this condensed version by the Moses Hand website) that I encourage you to spend some time with.

Still, it's worth noting that this wasn't just an American hit single. The song quickly reached #1 in the U.S. and also #1 in the U.K.; in 1991 a re-release made it back into the U.K. Top Ten. So, in that sense, if God did intend to use this man and his ONLY HIT SONG for the purposes of getting the unsaved world's attention, I'd say it's a good bet He has reached millions of secularists over these last 35 years throughout the world and not just in North America.

Even if "American Pie" isn't a modern day "Song of Moses" it's parallels to and statements about coming judgement are VERY SIMILAR to what God tells us the the Bible ASSOCIATED WITH THE VERY VERSES THAT MENTION THE SONG OF MOSES. Surely, that's not a mistake or God playing some kind of a practical joke on us, is it?


THE END IS NEAR


If someone were to ask me how I determine the topics I choose to write about I don’t think I’d be able to give them the type of answer they’re looking for. For me, it’s not a linear model that follows a “Point A to Point B” framework. Quite honestly, it’s almost as if the topics choose me.

It’s funny how this writing thing works. Sometimes I will have a list of topics that I want to explore and write about, but most times I simply go with the flow and let history play out. In that sense, I guess you could say the article just seems to write itself. I’m not so much a “writer” as I am an “observer” who watches, interprets and puts down on paper those thoughts that come to mind when considering a particular issue. It helps to sift everything I experience, see, hear and read through a mental filter that is heavily influenced by Jesus Christ, the Bible and Christianity (at least that’s the goal before I write a single word).

By adding the proper perspective to such things, this helps me to better understand life and the world we live in. I can’t explain it, but there are times when an idea for a piece will come into my head from out in left field (such as the focus for this entire series) or at least it will be about a subject that wasn’t even on my radar minutes, let alone days, or even months ago (again, exactly how this series wound up being written and published here).

If nothing else, I firmly believe in my heart that it's no mere coincidence that we've spent the better part of the last two weeks looking at Bible prophecy in relation to America's role (if any) in the end times.

The conclusions we've drawn have all been the same: JUDGEMENT IS COMING UPON OUR NATION, AND IT'S COMING A LOT SOONER THAN EVEN WE THINK IT IS!!!


How else do you explain this nagging need to focus all my energy on this redundant theme? I've learned over the years that when the Lord prompts me to write about such things it's usually for a good reason. No, I'm not claiming to be a prophet although I am claiming that I have reason to believe (as should you) that the hammer is about to fall upon this great nation in response to the multitude of our sins, and that we refuse to repent for them.

What has been brought to out attention over these last few weeks as plausible scenarios? What hasn't is more like it! Civil Unrest; Civil War; Terrorism; Nuclear Terrorism; Disputed Elections; Illigitimate Politicians; Corrupt Government; Regional and World Wars; Disease; Famine; Persecution; Deception; Economic Crisis; Political Crisis; Spiritual Warfare. Should I continue?

Furhermore, the "Song of Moses" gives a generalized plan or outline of Yehovah's judgment on OUR NATIONS TODAY (those descended from Israel) in these latter days. It is interesting to note that He also gave Moses a detailed plan as recorded in Leviticus 26. Here Yehovah gives a step-by-step sequence of THE SAME EVENTS which are outlined in the "Song of Moses."

It behooves us then, the to get down on our knees before our Eternal God, and pray that we may be found worthy to escape these calamities that are about to EXPLODE upon the face of the earth. We must QUIT PLAYING GAMES WITH GOD and return to the faith once delivered to the Saints (Jude 3). When new truth is revealed to us by the mercy of our great God, we should ACT UPON IT and make it a part of our daily lives. We must come out of Babylon and return to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Our very lives depend upon it!!!

"Great and marvellous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the ages...For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, FOR YOUR RIGHTEOUS ACTS HAVE BEEN REVEALED." Revelation 15:4.

What does any of this have to do with the Supreme Court's decision the other day to allow for a constitutionally inelligible politican to become President of the United States? I think that it's quite obvious that there are is some important symbolism here (a lesson? a warning?), and that we can all agree that the more things change, the more they stay the same.

In addition, it's almost as if we can hear the Lord whispering to us by reminding us that what once was, shall be again, and that we shouldn't worry too much about it because it is Ecclesiastes 1:9-14 that tells us, "What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. Is there anything of which one can say, 'Look! This is something new?' It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time. There is no remembrance of men of old, and even those who are yet to come will not be remembered by those who follow."

Ecclesiastes has been dubbed, “the strangest book in the cannon [Bible].” It is an enigma for many Christians, for the bulk of this book is the memoirs of a man that is sharing his observations about what is wrong with life. In Ecclesiastes 1:1-11, we learn that life is fleeting and disappointing.

It also brings another passage of Scripture to mind from the same book in Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 that reads, "Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil."

These two verses and the message of the Bible tell us that the best way to live under the sun is to live in the Son regardless of what happens. Sage advice that can be applied to the pressing issues of the day.

The good news is that God has not left us “under the sun.” If you have believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior, life is not “under the sun” but rather in the Son. He brings purpose, peace, and significance. He gives you the opportunity to live an abundant life (John 10:10). However, the Bible is clear that apart from the Lord Jesus Christ, life under the sun is terribly disappointing. It is cursed! It is disjointed! It is upside down! It is in bondage to decay! It is meaningless! It needs to be liberated! This will happen when we leave this life and go and be with Him.

Again, the more things change, the more things stay the same. So, I will decline the "hope and change" that's being offered by one man, and instead hold on to the One who always gives me hope; the One who never changes.

Lord have mercy on us. Lord come quickly. Maranatha.

***UPDATE 12/10/2008: While surfing the Internet this evening I came across this "revision" of Don McLean's "American Pie" on a prophecy forum! Simply amazing that something like that would happen! Synchronicity strikes again! Man, we all better fall to our knees because the theme of impending judgment on our nation is coming through loudly and clearly these days!***
