In light of all the reports involving a coming catastrophe for America - a constitutional crisis; an economic depression; terrorist attack; civil unrest; martial law; natural disaster - we can add the latest from the U.S. Government to the mix.
This from the Northeast Intelligence Network (NEIN) and Raiders News Network is downright somber:
"The Evangelical Christian community are not the only ones discussing the inevitability and repercussions of an apocalyptic global crisis, or a crisis within the United States which removes the nation from its current status as a major world power. Just released for public consumption is a .pdf format U.S. Government publication written by Lt. Col. (USA Ret.) Nathan Freier. This document is a highly researched and thoroughly documented field of inquiry entitled“Known Unknowns: Unconventional Strategic Shocks in Defense Strategy Development” which warns of catastrophic events. Referred to as “strategic shocks” in the paper, the author foresees events here at home which our federal government, defense and intelligence agencies are woefully ill-equipped to deal with much less reasonably predict based upon the lessons of history which guarantees future shocks on a scale greater than those of 9/11."

The report underscores what we've been looking at here for quite some time now. As the NEIN writer astutely asks, "What extreme, albeit illustrative, circumstances does the author foresee which would necessitate the deployment of American combat troops into battle against hostile domestic groups in the United States? And is this not a direct reference to civil war or insurrection in the homeland?"
Definitely worth the read because this is coming from a secular source as opposed to a religious and prophetic perspective.
What does that tell you about the concerns raised here over the last several weeks? Not so far-fetched after all are they?
Prophecy is often where the future meets reality. With that in mind, we would be wise to take these warnings to heart.
On a side note, I also just read about the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) who has warned that advanced nations will be hit by violent civil unrest if the elite continue to restructure the economy around their own interests while looting the taxpayer.
Interesting and perilous times we live in. Be sure to put your hope, future, and full faith in the one true God - Yahweh.

As the author of the NEIN article I assure that I am one of the bride of Christ and that the intent and basis for my composing the article was firmly rooted in my 35+ years of Biblical eschatological perspective and study.
It is the subject of my article, the monograph by LTC Freier at the Army War College, which is the truly secular bellwether and what resonated things prophetic that I had read 37 years ago in books such as "666" by Salem Kirban and "The Late Great Planet Earth" by Hal Lindsey. The future headlines that both wrote about are now daily fare in the print and electronic media. We are the generation our Lord spoke of.
Had I written my article from the truly religious or prophetic perspective how many secular souls would have immediately rejected it as the rantings of some religious zealot? By linking the secular with the prophetic I had hoped to stir some of those souls to the imminent reality of what we know to be Daniel's "70th Week."
SeanOsborne,
Thank you for stopping by to comment.
I apologize if my commentary gave the wrong impression (and perhaps I'll edit the original post so that it's more clear), but I am aware of your religious beliefs and perspective on these chaotic times we live in from previous works you've done as well.
In addition, I in no way meant it to be a "criticism" of you or your approach in writing about things (and apologize if it came off that way) because, quite frankly, I am in COMPLETE AGREEMENT with you about the need to try to write in such a way that attracts the secular, unsaved world to what it is we're trying to alert them to.
You did an excellent job of linking the secular with the prophetic and that's what I wanted to call attention to.
You're bringing the glory to God in these perilous times so please keep up the fantastic work at NEIN.
Hope to see you here again really soon.

brinteJeff,
My Brother in Christ, thank you very much for clearing that up, and for posting my write-up in the first place.
The ambiguity I had was whether NEIN or the Army War College's Strategic Studies Institute was being viewed as a secular source. Either might be viewed as such, but the individuals within each may not be secularly oriented.
For the "Army" as the orignating source, it is an off-the-cuff institutional assumption of many. However, that assumption might be allowed a caveat with respect to LTC Freier's personal convictions of faith, and/or those of his superiors who authorized the publication of his work under their bannner, offical U.S. Army or DoD disclaimers notwithstanding.
Some of the most devout faithful are those who routinely place their lives on the line for their fellow Americans, believing the U.S. Constitution we swear or affirm to defend against all enemies to be Divinely inspired, that America was founded and has always been defended as a Christian nation, even with all of its faults that we earnestly seek to rectify.
There are many Godly men and women serving in the U.S. armed forces, officers and enlisted alike, who in due course of official duties must invoke the unofficial and implied 'separation of church and state.' A modernistic version of giving to caesar and giving to God, if you will.
I came away from my initial reading of LTC Freier's paper by recognizing it as a completely unprecedented and unique work of its kind; one that as I noted towards the end of my article may have real prophetic implications for all concerned.
Trust me when I say that many in the American miltary understand implicitly the nature and origin of the author of Islam, which is truly total submission to a false god diametrically opposed to the true God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
