The More Things Change...

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I thought this commentary would be appropriate today since it is widely expected that President-elect Barack Obama will announce that Hillary Clinton will serve as his Secretary of State.

That would be a remarkable change in position for him before he even serves one day as the actual President of the United States. Then again, what more can we expect after some of the other examples of "change" we've seen from him since Election Day?

Thanks to Deceiver for this story recently. Did you know that the "Man of Change" (the "Public School Reformer") will be sending his children to private school?

Barack Obama, at a speech to the NAACP on July 14:
“We need to fix and improve our public schools, not throw our hands up and walk away from them.”

The Associated Press, yesterday evening:
President-elect Barack Obama and his wife have chosen Sidwell Friends School for their two daughters, opting for a private institution that another White House child, Chelsea Clinton, attended a decade ago.

ABC News, a few hours earlier:
An Obama aide added, “Mrs. Obama is the product of public education on the South Side of Chicago and she believes strongly in the importance of good public schools for all kids…” Except her own, of course.

Yet, the most hypocritical aspect of this entire story is that Barack Obama spent 4 years as Chairman of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, which was part of a $500 million project to fix, reform, and otherwise spiff up America’s screwed up public schools.

Must not have worked much.

Yeah, yeah, I know - it’s a personal decision that parents should make based on what’s best for the kids. Blah, blah, blah. Show me a politician whose kids go to a public school, and I’ll show you a politician with a real incentive to make public schools perform. I think thousands of kids trapped in D.C. public schools just got screwed.

Mmmmm…Change.

I'll wrap up this entry with a short video clip that says it all. Despite filling his administration with retreads from the Clinton and Bush administrations Barack Obama told worried supporters on Wednesday that he is the change.



Too funny! Face it Obama supporters...YOU'VE BEEN HAD!!! What a phony!

Then again, the rest of the world might FINALLY begin to see this for themselves if the U.S. Supreme Court does its job and defends the U.S. Constitution this Friday 12/5.

Sure, we're getting "change" all right. Change from one stated position to another at almost break-neck speed!
