I know, no one wants to read about another "fantasy" or "conspiracy theory" here let alone one involving the U.S. called the North American Union (NAU), despite all the facts and signs to the contrary that would indicate that this is precisely where our nation is headed fast.
However, with so much talk this days of a one world everything I thought it was the right time for us to take a closer look at what might become our future very soon.
Rapture Alert posted an eye-opening commentary the other day upon the news that The Financial Times' chief foreign affairs columnist, Gideon Rachman, believes a one world government is plausible, and he even points to the very foundation of this new world order he envisions - the revived Roman empire we today refer to as the European Union as his blueprint or model of how one could come into existence!
After spending some time dissecting Rachman's comments and applying them to prophecy, Mickey spends the second have of his piece discussing the concept of the North American Union. That got me thinking and I revisited some of my old files and notes on the subject as well as performed some fresh research.
WHAT EXACTLY IS THE CONCEPT OF A NORTH AMERICAN UNION (NAU)?
All anyone has to do is read the facts concerning the "theoretical" description of a North American Union to realize how very real and very prophetic this plan actually is. The concept takes on a surreal life of its own when one also reads the public records involving international government agreements, and considers not only the environment we live in today, but also the dates and terminology being thrown around whenever this topic comes up for discussion.
The North American Union (NAU) is a regional union of Canada, Mexico and the United States similar in structure to the European Union, that would include a common currency called the Amero. Officials from all three nations have said there are no government plans to create such a union, which is clearly a blatant lie.
Since at least the mid-19th century, numerous concepts for a regional union between Canada, Mexico and the United States, often including Caribbean, Central American and South American countries, have been proposed, such as the North American Technate and the Free Trade Area of the Americas. In contrast, details of the North American Union concept emerged not from proponents, but from critics of the idea.
These details emerged when critics identified what they perceived to be the true goals of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP).
When the SPP was founded by the governments of Canada, Mexico and the United States in March 2005, some critics claimed it was an attempt to dramatically alter the economic and political status quo between the countries outside of the scrutiny of the respective national legislatures, a critique heightened by the subsequent publication in May 2005 by the Independent Task Force on North America of a report which praised the SPP initiative and called for greater economic integration by 2010.
Hmmm, "greater economic cooperation by 2010" almost sounds like they had advance knowledge of a coming global financial crisis affecting all the major markets, but especially the U.S. and North America.
While a broad spectrum of observers criticize the secrecy of the SPP and its dominance by business groups, the specific claim that its true aim was to expand the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) into a North American Union analogous to the European Union (EU), with open borders and a common currency among other features, was being made by the fall of 2006, when right-wing commentators Phyllis Schlafly, Jerome Corsi, and Howard Phillips started a website dedicated to quashing what they perceived as the coming North American "Socialist mega-state."
Hmmm, there's that word "socialism" again. That's odd. Forget about the current political and economic conditions that currently exist that would make the implementation of a NAU feasible to many, but didn't we also just elect a President who espouses Socialist philosophies like "spreading the wealth" and such?
These critics claim the actual goals of the SPP were confirmed by the Task Force, and by the Task Force’s co-chair American University professor Robert Pastor. Critics often cite Pastor as being the “father” of the NAU and his 2001 book "Towards a North American Community: Lessons from the Old World for the New" has been called a blueprint for the plan, and includes a suggestion to adopt a common North American currency called the Amero.
The SPP was described by the leaders of Canada, Mexico and the United States as being designed to provide greater cooperation on security and economic issues, while the Task Force recommended the "establishment by 2010 of a North American economic and security community, the boundaries of which would be defined by a common external tariff and an outer security perimeter."
Wow! 2010 huh? Why, that's right around the corner! Who would've ever suspected back in 2005 (when this concept really took off) that the conditions would be ripe to help make this a reality in our lifetime?
All three governments deny that there are plans to implement a NAU via the SPP, and the Task Force report said that a North American Community, which would be similar to the European Community which preceded the EU, should not rely on "grand schemes of confederation or union" nor did it suggest a regional government or a common currency. The Task Force’s recommendations included developing a North American customs union, common market, investment fund, energy strategy, set of regulatory standards, security perimeter, border pass, and advisory council, among other common goals.
While the SPP was an initiative carried out at the highest levels of government of the three countries in question, the Task Force was an independent project with no government affiliation organized by the Council on Foreign Relations (wait a minute! isn't Vice President-elect Joe Biden a member of the CFR?), the Canadian Council of Chief Executives, and the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations.
Nevertheless, the belief that a North American Union is currently being planned and implemented in secret has become widespread, so much so that the NAU had become a topic of debate during the 2008 American presidential campaigns and the subject of various U.S. Congressional resolutions designed to thwart its implementation.
Prominent critics such as CNN’s Lou Dobbs and Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul denounce the concept, joined by left-wing groups in Canada, Internet blogs (count this one in!), and widely viewed videos and films such as “Zeitgeist.” Corsi’s 2007 book “The Late Great USA: The Coming Merger with Mexico and Canada” also helped bring the NAU discussion into the mainstream. Others who dismiss these beliefs maintain they are the latest example of a long line of misguided conspiracy theories that suggest the United States’ sovereignty is being eroded by a secret cabal of foreign and domestic players. Now why would we ever think something like that especially those of us who study Bible prophecy?
Check out some of this news reports. Some of them are from as far back as 2006. I particularly love Lou Dobbs' comment about how he wonders whether or not the American people have the stomach to uphold and fight to defend the U.S. Constitution. If the past 8 years are any indication (as well as recent events from the past few months) then I would have to say no, no we don't. Check out these eye-opening news reports on this subject:
Some of these NAU skeptics, while expressing concern about the lack of transparency of the SPP, note that this is not evidence of a plot to create a North American Union. “The idea of a regional union that effaces U.S. sovereignty is light-years away from George W. Bush's foreign policy of unilateral action and disdain for international law and institutions.” Oh really? I'd like to meet the person who issued that statement to find out if they still feel that way? I'd also like to see when that comment was made too.
Of the three leaders at the 2005 founding of the SPP (American President George W. Bush, Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin and Mexican President Vicente Fox), and the two subsequent leaders (Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Mexican President Felipe Calderon), only Fox has voiced support for the ultimate goal of an entity like the North American Union.
Before the SPP and since, he has noted the success countries like Ireland and Spain have had in modernizing their economies and bringing higher standards of living for their citizens by joining what is now the European Union and has expressed the hope that Mexico could have a similar experience in a trade body of comparable scope in North America. However, he has also expressed frustration with the lack of progress towards that goal as issues such as immigration reform proved to be contentious within the United States. Various positive comments about a North American Union concept and an eventual common currency for the Americas by Vicente Fox, in particular some made during a promotional tour for a book in 2007, have been cited by critics as evidence that the body is in fact being enacted or planned.
The three current leaders of Canada, Mexico and the United States have all characterized the goals of the SPP as being far more modest than the goals Vicente Fox has expressed and what critics have alleged is actually being contemplated.
Even so, adding further intrigue to all of this is the Trans-Texas Corridor, which was first proposed by Texas Governor Rick Perry in 2002.
It consists of a 1,200 foot (366 m) wide highway that also carries utilities such as electricity, petroleum and water as well as railway track and fiber-optic cables. In July 2007, U.S. Representative and candidate for the Republican nomination in the 2008 presidential election Duncan Hunter successfully offered an amendment to House Resolution 3074, the FY2008 Transportation Appropriations Act, prohibiting the use of federal funds for U.S. Department of Transportation participation in the activities of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP).
Hunter stated that: "Unfortunately, very little is known about the NAFTA Super Highway. This amendment will provide Congress the opportunity to exercise oversight of the highway, which remains a subject of question and uncertainty, and ensure that our safety and security will not be compromised in order to promote the business interests of our neighbors."
Fellow Republican Congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul brought the issue to mainstream prominence during the December 2007 CNN-YouTube GOP debate, where he rejected the concept and also called it "the NAFTA Superhighway" and, like Hunter, framed it within "the ultimate goal" of creating a North American Union.
Despite constant denials by our government officials, the evidence is too compelling. The Ministry of Transportation for the province of Alberta even displays a diagram on their website that labels I-29 and I-35 as the "NAFTA Superhighway,"
OBSTACLES TO FULL-FLEDGED REGIONALISM
When you stop to think about all of it, the idea that this is just a cute little theory thought up by some international think tank is absurd. Look around and actually open your eyes to what's happening here at home, and it becomes clear that "they" are trying to force this upon us at any cost and as soon as possible.
The only thing that stands in the way of a full-fledged one world government is the existence of nationalism. You can't have a regional or one world government with open borders without effectively reducing (better yet, eliminating nationalism as it exists today). Thus, the only thing that stands in the way of a one world government at the moment is North America (mainly the United States, and to a lesser extent even Canada).
So, what are the proponents of a New World Order to do? How can they destroy a nation, remove any and all traces of nationalism, and replace it with a regional governing body that could seamlessly integrate into the European Union (otherwise known as the "blueprint" or "model" for a one world government)?
Create chaos. So, Phase One was for those who control the money in this world to manufacture an economic crisis. While it obviously has created an unstable environment, the effects of which are still felt today, it hasn't succeeded in serving as the knockout punch that was intended.
On to Phase Two. So, they will now attempt to create a political crisis. Success! India, Pakistan, Greece, Canada, and the United States.
Last week, I documented the sudden explosion of "crisis events" worldwide. Surprisingly, a number of them are in our own backyard so to speak and two of them specifically involve the federal governments of both the United States and Canada.
So, on the surface at least, it would seem as though those pulling the puppet strings behind closed doors (read: the men and women in positions of power who are easily influenced by Satan) have decided that a gradual subversion of our national heritage, roots, and way of life would take too long, and they've instead opted to go with the more direct approach.
Case in point, for the first time in the history of Canada, the Prime Minister of Canada is running away from the Parliament of Canada. Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper won approval to suspend the country’s legislature for more than seven weeks in a bid to stave off a challenge from opposition parties seeking to bring down his government.
At the same time, did you know that top elected officials in Canada are also working on a massive agreement that will integrate Canada’s economy with the 27 nations of the European Union, “far exceeding "the scope of agreements such as NAFTA?
According to the John Birch Society, Quebec Premier Jean Charest is enthusiastically supportive of the plan which has been in the works FOR YEARS NOW. He has, according to the JBS, "boldly told Europeans that they should 'do a deal with Canada that can serve as a model for something far more ambitious with the United States.'"
What about America's role in all of this? More of the same I'm afraid. Ironically, the political atmosphere in Canada has some chilling similarities with what's going on here in America - they too are facing a constitutional crisis just like we are today!
Plus, as this article reports from just a few weeks back, "The results of the G-20 economic summit amount to nothing less than the seamless integration of the United States into the European economy. Sovereignty is out the window. Without a vote, we are suddenly members of the European Union. Given the dismal record of those nations at creating jobs and sustaining growth, merging with the Europeans is like a partnership with death."
Listen to what Jerome Corsi had to say about why all Americans need to be concerned about the prospect of a North American Union (NAU):
Is there any doubt that this is already in the works and being planned (carried out) behind closed doors, and without media scrutiny? The facts speak loudly and clearly.
Besides, we've already seen how those powerful individuals in the corporate media are complicit in all of this. Even Canada is experiencing a strangely silent mainstream media when it comes to their unprecedented and current constitutional crisis.
TIME IS WINDING DOWN! THE GAME'S ALMOST OVER!
Now, combine everything we've looked at with the fact that efforts are already underway for a global currency to be created, as well as plans for a new world order being drafted, and it shouldn't be a shock to anyone as to where we are on God's prophetic timeline. It's late in the game and I'd be willing to bet that we're already past to two minute warning!
The common thread here is that each one of these stories represents a different kind of crisis; a viable threat to people's way of life with implications that suggest everything could change drastically at a moment's notice. It also kind of puts Joe Biden's "mark my words..." speech before the Election of a coming "international crisis" doesn't it?
Why is all of this significant? Are they in any way related? I mean, what the heck is going on here? Why is the world drowning in a sea of chaos? Doesn't it feel like the whole world could just explode in the blink of an eye as one "crisis" after another threatens our very way of life as we've always known it?
Students of prophecy know the answers to those questions. Time is short - very short. Things seem to be changing on a daily basis instead of taking months or even years to develop. That's not a fluke.
"And all these are the beginning of sorrows" Matthew 24:8. Literally, of great torments, just like women in childbirth. The labor pains are certainly intensifying and the contractions are getting closer and closer to one another for sure! That can only mean one thing.
"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws near." Luke 21:28
Keep looking up indeed! Maranatha!
