I wasn't planning on writing anything again until January 1, 2009, but promised that if major news occurred we would take the time to let the Look Up Fellowship community know about it.
However, being the astute individuals that you are, I'm sure that many of you have already heard about the major news coming out of the Middle East involving Israel and the Palestinians.
Here's a brief snapshot of some of today's headlines to bring you up to speed:
Bloodiest Day For Palestinians In 20 Years...
100 Targets Hit....
Israel Launches Air Strikes On Gaza, 145 Dead...
Arab World Slams Israel...
Escalate?
Hamas Threatens To Unleash 'Hell'
Obviously, this bears watching as things can change and escalate VERY QUICKLY in that part of the world.
For weeks, we've been feeling as though the Psalm 83 War and perhaps even the Gog-Magog War were both right around the corner, and that they could both happen instantly and without much warning.
Are we seeing the beginning of the fulfillment of these ancient prophecies? If so, and especially if things escalate beyond out wildest expectations in the region, how much more significance does this story take on now?
Pray and stay close to the Lord.

JRed,
My only comment is to watch these events closely. The current IAF strikes, as well as the potential for IDF armor and boots-on-the-ground action in the coming hours, have been anticipated in earnest since the Knesset gave the IDF a green light a couple of days ago to neutralize HAMAS' military threat.
As for Biblical prophetic implications, I think it might be prudent to limit near-term "wars and rumors of wars" to include only Pslam 83 and Isaiah 17.
I take this cautious approach because there are verses in Ezekiel which do not seem to apply to the current military or domestic situation in Israel.
Russia, Iran and their allied confederation fall upon Israel according to the Lord via Ezekiel in 38 verses 8 and 11 when "in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them... and "And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates..."
These two verses do not accurately reflect the current or near term situation in Israel, but might more accurately apply after the fulfillment of Psalm 83 and Isaiah 17... the result of which will likely see the land mass and spoils of Israel extended and expanded to roughly 20 times its current configuration, per Genesis 15:18.
