The Chronophage Revisited

Back in early November we looked at a peculiar timepiece in Cambridge called the Chronophage, and commented on it's eerie connection to prophecy (specifically those things mentioned in the Book of Revelation).

Take a moment to feast your eyes on this strange invention before continuing with today's follow-up.
To say that this invention is bizarre is a vast understatement. To say that it eerily (and blatantly?) uses prophetic themes and terminology (as you'll recognize from the get-go) is completely accurate.

I mean, seriously, what is the purpose of creating a machine like this let alone one that uses such strange imagery not to mention one that gives it's viewer a strong sense of impending doom? What's the point?

Surely, such brilliant minds and educated people could be spending their precious time on more important things and pressing issues of the day, no? And the price tag attached to this thing! What's up with that too!?!

So, here we are 2 months later, and it would seem as though the more chances that people have had to see this thing in action for themselves (and the more time they've had to consider it all from a Christian and prophetic perspective) the more they feel the need to sound the alarm.

Since initially discovering this bizarre invention myself I've recently come across
this write up on it just before the start of the New Year, and I've also found a couple of videos that are informative.

Here's a video from the clock's creator:

Now, here's where things start to get very interesting for us, and precisely the point that I began looking at this unusual creation again with closer scrutiny.

A film has been posted to YouTube that's gaining in popularity claiming the clock is a UFO, which heralds the end of the world. In the film, a man explains why he thinks the clock announces the coming of events detailed in the Book of Revelation. He says this "Chronophage" creature, which sits on top of the device, is actually a locust (or a fallen angel), and draws attention to an apparent similarity between the clock and a drawing of a UFO found in a Renaissance edition of the works of the Roman historian Julio Obsequens.

A little background on this historian is in order first. Julius Obsequens was a Roman writer who is believed to have lived in the middle of the fourth century AD. The only work associated with his name is the Liber de prodigiis (Book of Prodigies), completely extracted from an epitome, or abridgment, written by Livy; De prodigiis was constructed as an account of the wonders and portents that occurred in Rome between 249 BC-12 BC.

The work was first printed by the Venetian humanist, Aldus Manutius, in 1508, after a manuscript belonging to Jodocus of Verona (now lost). Of great importance was the edition by the Basle Humanist Conrad Lycosthenes (1552), trying to reconstruct lost parts and illustrating the text with wood-cuts. Later editions were printed by F. Oudendorp (Leyde, 1720) and O. Jahn (1853, with the periochae of Livy).

Ready for this (especially given everything that's appeared on this site lately)? A curious, if not important, aspect of Obsequens' work are the references made to unidentified flying objects (UFOs)!

I'm not saying that I believe with this gentleman's analysis completely, but there may be some truth in what he has to say, and the fact that it's coming from a Christian prompted me to at least want to share it with all of you to allow you to make your own conclusions. In any event, here's the video I referenced:

Again, not quite sure if I can believe all his assumptions and connections, but he does make an interesting and quite compelling case indeed. Did you catch how he uses a clip from another video where Dr. Taylor reads the time as "11 o'clock, precisely," which this man interprets as meaning we are in the "last hour" or the "eleventh hour" commonly used to depict imminent doom? Quite observant.

Then, after watching Dr. Taylor inviting people to see the clock being unveiled to the "unsuspecting citizens of Cambridge," the film's creator says, "That would suggest to me that most of the people in Cambridge don't actually know what this clock is. It's something that's been released on the unsuspecting public, and it is in fact a depiction of what is to come, that the Book of Revelation, chapter nine, is about to begin."

Surely, the language, choice of words, and imagery all seem to play together here to send a specific message. I mean, you have to wonder if he's on to something even if he's only partly right.

Wow! Interesting to say the least. I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw this, felt disturbed, and immediately thought of those same locusts from the Book of Revelation.

But what does it all mean? Truthfully, I still believe that many people have absolutely no clue about
what's really coming upon this planet; the reality of which would simply boggle their minds and "cause men's hearts failing them for fear" (Luke 21:26).

Is this another warning that God is sending to us through secular means in an effort to get the attention of the unsaved? Perhaps. Either way, I also found it odd that this story appeared in the major news headlines today as well:
Insects As Weapons Of War.

Keep looking up!

This video also is related information to this posting about the Corpus Christi Cambridge Chronophage Clock...Shocking but a must see...I think this clock was actually "finished" in September 2008...I've seen studies indicating the birth of Messiah could have taken place around that time although no one really knows the real birth day of Yahshua for we we were never commanded to celebrate it BUT that would be the "time" for a counterfeit "KING" to arise now wouldn't it? A King who is a DESTROYER and not a life giver! Appollo or Appollyon same! Now Rev 9 also talks about 5 months of torment(connected to demons). My bible notes tell me that locusts in the natural usually are present May-September...now if they the demons in the spiritual realm were released with the unveiling of the clock and coinsiding with the Hadron Collider that was publicly proclaimed to be started and working on September 10th Is not that a reverse of the natural order of things? Reversing the time? And announcing like the REVELATIONS of the NEW KING OF KINGS? Sept till now is 5 months and we have indeed been tormented by terror have we not?
