Boy, that Dr. David R. Reagan of Lamb & Lion Ministries is truly a man with spiritual discernment!
I'm constantly amazed by the things he writes about when it comes to prophecy because each new commentary seems to shine even more light on our overall understanding of these times we are living in as well as those prophecies in the Bible that describe them for us.
Case in point, after receiving his recent newsletter via email I decided to head on over to his website since I haven't been there in quite some time. I was thrilled to discover that he has just completed a series of articles examining the possible identity of the Antichrist.
Could the Antichrist possibly be a Muslim? This is a new idea that seems to be catching fire today due to the awakening of Islam and the revival of its territorial goal of conquering the world for Allah. Plus, the prophecies involving the saints being beheaded during the Tribulation (how those who do not swear allegiance to the Antichrist will be dealt with) is especially telling since beheading (an ancient form of murder, and one more common to the Middle East) didn't reemerge into the Western world's public consciousness until just a few years ago when the "War on Terror" began.
Plus, the traditional viewpoint has always been that the Antichrist will be of a European of Roman descent. This view is based on a statement in Daniel 9:26, which says that the Antichrist, referred to as "the prince who is to come," will be from "the people who destroy the Temple." Those people proved to be the Romans who destroyed the Temple in 70 AD.
So, what's the real story? Setting the debate regarding the whole "we'll-know-who-the-Antichrist-is-when-he-signs-a-peace-treaty" question aside for a moment, during the course of this particularly powerful series, Reagan kindly tries to set us straight by reminding us of what those prophecies regarding the coming Antichrist actually say, and in the process that can only lead us to one conclusion - - that the Antichrist will not be a Muslim.
Please spend some time reviewing his work for yourself.

I should reiterate that there's a growing body of researchers who are openly questioning whether or not the identity of both the Antichrist and his False Prophet could somehow be much more than what we anticipate.
In other words, some people wonder whether or not their identity and origin could be tied to the prophesied return of the Nephilim that we've look at extensively here. Reagan doesn't even consider the possibility (I'm sure because this line of thinking about Nephilim/Giants playing an end times role is still considered "taboo" to many Christians), but that doesn't mean the idea doesn't have any merit.
Those who think it does will often point to two specific sections of Scripture. For example, Revelation 13:1 pictures him as a "beast" arising "out of the sea." In addition, the Antichrist's right-hand man and spiritual leader the False Prophet is pictured in Revelation 13:11 as rising up "out of the land" (or the "earth," in some translations).
Obviously, both statements are extremely significant depending on your opinion of some of the things Steve Quayle has been saying recently about Nephilim/Giants being loosed from the abyss.
In fairness, however, I should also mention that this may be nothing but a bizarre coincidence. I mean, after all, the sea is used in Scripture to symbolize the Gentile nations (Daniel 7:3 and Luke 21:25), and the reference to the land could be just an indication that the False Prophet will be a Jew who will rise out of the Promised Land of Israel.
Time will tell what the real truth is, but it's not about who's "right" and who's "wrong" here. What's important is that we have received the forgiveness and saving grace that is offered to us for free. As events unfold here on Earth that's the most important goal for all of us.
