What We're Praying/Talking About

Our faith in action, or our small contribution in trying to apply what we're taught in Hebrews 5-6 and James 2:17-26 for the benefit of our dear brothers and sisters within the Body of Christ...

Tea Party Day

I don't want to spend too much time on this today because I'm sure that many other places you visit online daily already are.

Still, it's no small story that peaceful protests have been organized throughout the country in what's being called "Tea Party Day" nationwide.

With roughly 2,000 local tea parties scheduled for today's tax day, trouble really is brewing for this administration's economic policy. The nationwide protests, sparked by Washington's decision to tax and spend its way out of the recession, have attracted tens of thousands in the events leading up to the IRS's big day.

Compounded by the waste in the stimulus package, the government explosion in the President's $3.6 trillion budget, and countless bailouts, taxpayers' patience has run dry. However, make no mistake, this is not about Democrats or Republicans. This is about reducing the size and scope of government. Obama's spending too much money; Bush did too. People from across the country are saying enough is enough. That's what this is about.

The revolt is sure to attract plenty of attention, including, it seems, that of Homeland Security. In a shockingly biased new report,
the Department warned law enforcement officials to be on the lookout for "rightwing extremist activity" with particular focus on those who are "dedicated to a single-issue, such as opposition to abortion..."

Let's not forget, it was just last month when the chief of the Missouri highway patrol blasted a report issued by the Missouri Information Analysis Center that linked conservative groups to domestic terrorism, assuring that such reports no longer will be issued. The report had been compiled with the assistance of DHS. The report warned law enforcement agencies to watch for suspicious individuals who may have bumper stickers for political candidates such as Ron Paul, Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin. I supported Pastor Chuck Baldwin as a Third Party candidate. It further warned law enforcement to watch out for individuals with "radical" ideologies based on Christian views, such as opposing illegal immigration, abortion, and federal taxes.

This is absolutely absurd, though not surprising. Our Founding Fathers repeatedly warned Americans to resist government encroachment. An active citizenry is the best safeguard against tyranny. Conservative activism, including the brand on display today, may be a threat to current government officials, but not to Homeland Security.

I guess if you're going to protest against President Obama in any way, he's going to know who you are. As if that weren't enough to indicate that people are frustrated and that "something's afoot" we also saw this big story yesterday:

In case you missed it,
Texas Governor Rick Perry backed a resolution affirming Texas sovereignty under 10th Amendment. Friends, even if only a symbolic gesture at this time, this should not be taken lightly.

Now, I didn't watch any of the national TV news stations last night so I'm not sure what kind of coverage this was given by the mainstream press, but it should've been a lead story for sure. Of course, this makes "their guy" look bad so I wouldn't be surprised to learn that it got barely a mention all day.

You may not have heard much about it, but there’s a quiet movement afoot to reassert state sovereignty and stop the uncontrolled expansion of federal government power. Almost half of the state legislatures are considering or have representatives preparing to introduce resolutions which reassert the principles of the 9th and 10th Amendments to the Constitution and the idea that federal power is strictly limited to specific areas detailed in the Constitution and that all other governmental authority rests with the states.

Let's now recall what I've written and what we've looked at in recent months that contribute to this overall feeling of discontent:

I Want A Divorce
Does This Man Speak For The Majority?
Who Am I?
And So It Begins...
Stimulating Dissent
Quayle's Martial Law 90-Day Warning Has Teeth
State Of The Union

I thought it was very strange at the time when President Obama spent so much of his Inauguration Day speech talking about the Patriots and the Revolutionary War, but now I'm not so sure it wasn't strange at all, and instead right on point.

Today, many are hoping to get the government's attention the old fashioned way - - by spilling their complaints (and gallons of tea) into U.S. harbors. There's even a national anthem:

Let's just hope that's all that gets spilled today and that people don't take things too far. Either way, this kind of deception from the governments of the world, and this kind of social unrest on a mass scale is a hallmark of what's to come in regards to the prophesied one-world government led by the Antichrist.

(Anonymous from yesterday) Amen! I am going to a T.E.A. party today! Trust me, I am not fooled into thinking this is a partisan issue. This is a freedom issue. The B.O.D. has pulled the wool over our eyes for too long! It's literally NOW OR NEVER! I just hope people realize this is about big government and not Conservative vs. Liberals. If we fail to curb government spending then our freedoms will be raped even moreso than they already have been. It's amazing to me to think of the people that didn't realize how many of our freedoms were destroyed during the last 8 years ( I was one of them until a couple of years ago). Now the new "administration" is taking it into overdrive. Mandatory youth service, funding foreign abortions, tripling the national deficit! WAKE UP AMERICA!

I haven't seen anything on status lateely, but we were very close to have having a ConCon (Constitutional Convention). That would be what is needed to add an amendment to the US Constitution. The last one that was called had very restricted powers and was very closely monitored. If one was called using what the States have in place now, they could essentially rewrite the entire constitution and there is nothing anybody could do about it.

Supposedly, it was started in response to the bailouts. Again, without any restrictions on what could be worked on by the Convention, they could do anything!
