Ancient Artifacts And The 2nd Commandment

A few thoughts come to mind as we anticipate the upcoming "Global Event", which if it doesn't coincide with a "Full Disclosure" type of announcement, then I think we can all agree that it will definitely work towards setting us up for that kind of announcement one day in the not too distant future (i.e. the unveiling of some kind of ancient alien artifact let's say).

Specifically, the easiest way to try and deceive us to that end would be to produce some kind of "ancient artifact" that would "prove" to the world that everything we thought we knew had to be reexamined. At least, that's how I'd do it.

The Subtle Serpent we know as Satan is so treacherous that EVERYTHING he tries to do is a direct assault on the character, laws, nature, and teachings of God. Think about it, if he were to succeed in producing some kind of archaeological evidence that forces us to reexamine our origins then he would not only succeed in getting us to worship the creation instead of the Creator, but he would also get us to possibly worship a graven image.

The world falls for it, commits sin, and he laughs all the way towards his coronation as Antichrist and world leader.



If that were to happen, then we need to recall a few things we learn from Scripture.

Isaiah 40:18 - - "To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?"

Isaiah 40:25 - - "To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One."

From the Second Commandment, it is obvious that God expressly forbids the making of any representation of Him. Any such picture or statue is automatically a lie because other than knowing that we are in His physical image as to form and shape, everything else that He is cannot be expressed in a mere physical depiction.

John 1:18 confirms this truth as well: "No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him."

God is unique; nothing compares with Him. There is no point of contact, no physical reference, to which a human being can compare Him, revealing the absolute folly of image-making. Even Jesus' declarations regarding God are never about what He looks like, but are all about His authority, position, purpose, character, and attributes.

However, knowing the importance of His purpose to our lives, should we not strive to learn what He is like? God does not want us concerned about what He looks like, for that puts the emphasis in the wrong area. He gives us enough information for us to know that He looks like a man -- and that is enough.

However, He greatly desires that we know what He is. The entire Bible reveals His mind, character, attributes, offices, power, will, promises, plan, and relationship to us. The Third Commandment deals with these areas of study and application because they deeply affect the quality of our response to Him.

Of course, ANYTHING the world "finds" and produces that's associated with the idea that we were not created by God Himself would be blasphemous. Still, if the deception were designed to have the greatest effect, then perhaps any "ancient artifact" would claim that, yes, we were created by God, but our idea of who God is has been flawed since "this archaeological find suggests that our creator was..."

Do not worship any graven image if that graven image is said to represent our true god(s) -- and especially if that graven image is said to represent God the Father Almighty.

All down through-out history Gods days have been under attack by the devil an those who will follow

him. When God called Israel His special people It painted a big target on them , history shows the

attempted disturction of them especially when they diss-obeyed God He would allow for thier

correction before saving them. They had Gods days and It stood as a prophecy to the world and satan

as to what is sure to happen,If Israel can be defeated then God cant follow through whith his plans

[sothey thought] Gods days are a testament to prophecy and surity of His divine willand they are as

important to christianity as well but most dont know it yet.

this is about Sabbath and Holydays, Gods not ours to which He said not one jot or title shall pass

away till all things be fulfilled , to which there is the tribulation still to happen as well as the

whole mill. reign and then the New Earth and New Jerusalem comes, so until that happens we still have

Gods days to keep as love feasts as they are sometimes refered to.

The new test in NO WAY shows a doing away with any such days. The apostels kept these days, Sabbaths,

Passover, Days of Unleavened bread and Pentecost, Paul talks directly about a up coming day of

Trumpets[the last trump] as a resurrection day for the main harvest of the church in Thess.one and

two. Christ told us to follow His example,Paul also told us this and He also kept all of the Holy

Days and siad not to forsake the doctrines and teachings that were being handed down to the churches.

At one point He says if anyone teaches different doctrines they are doubly cursed.The one big

scripture that people point to for not having to follow Gods days, agian the early church kept and

taught gentiles also these days to keep so why would they teach such and do such but somehow they are

not to be followed as beyond absurd. Back to the Rom. 14 scripture 1-23 take verses 5-6 out now read

1-23 and see what the plain text is about , nothing here is about Sabbaths or Holy days. The text is

about offending the bretheren on whether or not they are eating meat. This meat is the meat that is

offered to false gods and the days in which these gods [demons] pagan days are worshiped on. Thats it

plain and simple. The days are observed by christians and some think these days are nothing and some

dont want any part of possibly eating meat from the sacrifices of these days. There was a split of

opinion about eating of meat in the market place , Paul is telling them not to offend each other and

one person does not think these to be anything others that are weak in faith do and do not want any

part of them , they do observe the day ,not in keeping it but in thinking it to be something, these

people are keeping away from meat offered on these days as to the Lord.

The Rom. 14 text gets taken wayy outt of context as it realy means in reference to pagan days and the

meat being offered on these days as something to keep away from. In another place Paul says do not

ask about the meat of food put infront of you but if you do or are told about it that it was offered

to idols do not eat of it so as not to offend your conscience and the weaker bretherens. the whole

thing is about conscience, read the last part to him it is sin so dont do ti to offend your brother

in Christ, but the meat itself is nothing if it is taken with thanksgiving. Its not about clean or

unclean meats but meat offered to idols.

The days to be fellowshipped on are Gods days set down from the begining.He is there in these days to

be thought of and talked about , these are His appointments with man.
The word moed is a Hebrew word meaning appointment, its Gods moed with man, our with Him on these

days, to be kept for all time , till at least and maybe beyond a fullfillment of all things.

Why would paul say lets keep the feast in Cor. and show New test. symbols of Passover to be kept as a

once a year moed unto the death of the Lord, a memorial of it to be kept 1Cor.5and 1Cor.10/16-11/34.
He also says he would like to get to Jerusalem to keep Pentecost.He taught in the synagog every

sabbath. At the Jerusalem conference about circumcision they told gentiles a few things and said

Moses is taught there every sabbath. So this is saying we'll give you some starter thing to do the

rest you can begin learning at the synagog on sabbaths. This will give them some time for the

apostels to make their way around to them an they will then clear up anything that may come up, as it

did and as they wrote about these on correcting them. Some went back to keeping their old pagan days

of worship, some went on to be circumcised and keeping rituals of washing thing the Judaizers were

telling them they had to do IF THEY WERE KEEPING THE HOLY DAYS .
Paul said no dont let anyone jugde you in you your keeping of these Sabbaths ,Holydays, New-moons as

they are not to keep all the extra stuff the jews were adding on to the gentiles. The priests had

added lots of things to Gods way,remember they didnt like Christ yelling at them for doing so but He

still kept Gods ,His days as did Paul ,he even followed a ritual head shaving to show he was not

doing away with the law. Moses and Gods law diff. then the passed down and added on to over the years

priest [oral law] and traditions for which they were scolded for. There is no proof in the new test.

that shoews a doing away with Holy days or Sabbaths ,there is nothing left for the christian to do

but directly refuse to follow these days, even the antichrist will get into the act and try to

finally get rid of Gods days but the 144 thous.jewish firstfruits will not give up these days as the

devil has been trying to do down through the ages.
The Age of grace started on Pentecost I believe it will close on it as well.The Lord talks about

countries in the millenium who if they will not send ambasadors to Jerusalem for the feasts [feast of

tabernacles] no rain will He give them and a danger of recieving in the plauges of Egypt.
The book of Hebrews talks about a Sabbath that still awaits the faithfull Heb.4. The antichrist wants

to start a new age of his own with his own days to worship him on and keep as many people as possible

from Gods ways /days and salvation . Agian this leaves no scripture to hide behind to back up any

doing away of Gods Days or love feasts, these go all the way back to the garden of Eden.God put in

these days profiles and types throughout history and fullfilled events on these days and still will.

see Isa.43/1,3,11,13,15, Isa.44/6,8 Isa. 45/7,12,18,21, more and more the devil hates Gods days and

there meaning and fullfillments in prophecy!!!He chose Israel and gave them days to show they are His

special people even thow they were in egxistence before them.He will fullfill His promise to them of

the covanant land with them another thing the world and satan hates but God is faithfull and will

perform it ,do not be cheated out of your moed with God that He made for us.
So lets reherse agian the areas of trouble , Rom14 is about meat offered to idols on particular days

that weak faith christians are being carefull not to get mixed up in and getting on other s for

getting mixed up in and fathfull ones taking no head to any pagan days as if they are anything but

Paul said dont put a burden on the weak with your freedom of eating meat. another is in Gal. the

christians there were going back to pagan worship of days they used to keep and Paul siad why do you

leave the traditions adn doctrines once delivered to you I fear for you. a nd yet another is

judaizers telling gentile beliveres they had to keep all law [oral law ] and circumcision if they

were to keep these days washings and other rituals.
God started the bilble with the Sabbath and it shows up at the ending also Rev. John saw these in the

Lords day, as to James 5/4 the Sabbath is the Lords Day as a sign to the great creator God between

Him and those who are His. and Heb.9/6,7 shows Atonement also comes into play ,there is now no

excuse for the beliving christian to not keep the days or moeds of the Lord

I'm a little reluctant to post this since I don't know the name of the movie I caught on TV, but it was Friday evening the 15thth.
It was a space movie and showed the "face on Mars" and our astronots going into it only to discover an alien being that was friendly. And the clincher was...they were to ones that planted us "seeds" of people on earth! But we sure did not favor them in appearance.

Hope someone else saw the movie and can give more comments on it.
