It starts will cases like this one involving a mother and her 13-year-old cancer-stricken son. In case you haven't heard, both the mother and son fled after refusing the chemotherapy that doctors say could save the boy's life. Now, authorities nationwide were on the lookout for them as an arrest warrant has been issued.
Seriously. I kid you not. Never mind terrorists, murderers, and rapists because they are now America's most wanted "fugitives" who are causing a media frenzy.
These are the faces of these "fugitives" on the run from the law in case you see them:

Please! How absurd!
How does this relate to my charge of Christians being demonized? All one has to do is read ANY article on this story to find the following opinion:
"The family belongs to a religious group that believes in 'natural' healing methods. Daniel has testified he believed chemotherapy would kill him and told the judge that if anyone tried to force him to take it, 'I'd fight it. I'd punch them and I'd kick them.'"
My guess is that by "natural healing" they mean faith in God and the power of prayer to heal a sick child, but that's just a wild guess. Don't you just love how they inject the religious connotation? They don't even have to mention the word "Christian" here, but instead use the all-encompassing "religious group", which makes it sound like ANYONE WHO HAS THE AUDACITY TO HAVE FAITH DURING A FIGHT WITH CANCER IS INSANE. Thus, readers and the non-religious are left with further "proof" that Christians are "wackos" who don't believe in common sense enough to have doctors take care of their dying son.
Quite the contrary! I mean, it's not like this kid is 3 and he can't speak and think for himself -- he's 13! Yes, I know he's still a minor and his opinion doesn't matter legally, but then that would mean that his parents are his legal guardians and their opinion DOES matter. Oops, I forgot that parental rights is a privilege that only the state gets to hand out and approve of. You are no longer in control of your own flesh and blood's life any more, and you certainly cannot express your belief that you are merely an agent of God taking care of a blessed individual that He has entrusted to your specific care.
This is so typical of the world in which we currently find ourselves living in, isn't it? I mean, since when does ANYONE -- let alone a political authority/institution -- have a right to tell parents how to care for their child? As a father of two little ones, this kind of thing really sets me off. My son will be 4 and my daughter will be 3, and I've already had my fair share of "run-ins" with the Health Care Nazis who love to exercise their perceived power to tell you what you can and can't do when it comes to taking care of your children. Heck, I've even had more than a few "run-ins" with doctors over my wife's health care come to think of it. I had "the nerve" to try and speak for her when she was writhing in pain and could barely speak. How dare I?
Here's the bottom line: Chemotherapy is NOT a cure for cancer -- it's a treatment! These power-hungry state and health officials act like this is a magic bullet, and by not choosing to give it to their son these parents have already signed his death warrant and killed him. Please! First, yes, medicine and medical treatment is a gift from God, but only He has can determine if and when a person lives or dies -- not any doctor. Second, the father is absolutely right when he said, "I know many people around here who have had cancer, they did the chemo, it would come back. They did the chemo again and again and they are all in the grave. Chemo isn't foolproof." Amen! I also know someone who just went in for chemo as recently as last week -- a man 30-40 years older than this young boy for his very first treatment no less -- he died a few days later!
Since when did we lose our natural rights to decide what we will and will not put into our bodies? Since when did it become ok for the media and the state to demonize a family during a time when they need our unbridled support?
I wonder if we'll see the same kind of fervor and sentiments against the parents who get drunk, do drugs, and smoke with their kids in the room. I wonder if we'll see the media target the "non-religious family" who believes their kid is best served being raised with fists, bruises, and black eyes because they believe in "natural parenting methods" (like "natural selection" perhaps and "survival of the fittest") to toughen up their offspring. Not likely I'm afraid.
And yet, barely a peep from the national mainstream media about "parents" who decide times are so tough -- and that they love money more than a human life -- that they are putting God's gift to them up for adoption just to make a quick buck! You can read all about that HERE. I know, I'm probably being "too harsh" because at least she had the baby, but I think you get what I'm saying here.
Look, I know I'm preaching to the choir on this one. I just get so frustrated and saddened by these types of stories. Parents decide what's best for their kids. I will never support any government or any law that tries to become more involved in my life, and one that tries to tell me what I can and can't do when it comes to teaching, raising, protecting, and providing for my kids. Never.
Pray for the Lord to deal with this tragic story in such a way that it not only brings glory to Him, but in such a way that it opens hearts and minds to the truth and ultimately is in accordance with His perfect will.

Fantastic article! I was thinking the same thing about the media's reporting of this story. Chemotherapy is not the only answer to cancer treatment, and most doctors won't even listen to alternative methods of curing cancer. Cancer is not caused from a lack of toxic chemicles in our system, and I pray the Lord doesn't test me the same way as this family is. I'm not sure what I'd do if someone tried to hurt my family.
Then there's the boy in North Carolina who was arrested under the patriot act as a terrorist. Someone stole is IP address and made bomb threats while the kid was at a youth group Bible study. I saw it on youtube, but blacklistednews.com and some others are picking up the story too.
I placed my hands on the picture of this mother and her son and asked the Lord to protect them and to glorify His name through them.
I think we should all stop and say a prayer for them; start a prayer chain. Please lay your hand over this photo and pray for this mother and this child.
Jesus heals.

Natural healing could be herbal remedies or remedies from other plants such as graviola tree extract, which I hear is an effective cancer killer. Heck, I wouldn't take chemo either. I don't care what any judge says.
Wait until the mandatory flu vaccines start.
Why is it ok with the government to give mothers the right to kill their babies before they are born, but yet once a child is born mothers now lose the right to choose how to care for them???
