It just doesn't end! Yet, this is only the beginning of what's to come.
Last week, I just wrote a piece titled "Making War With The Saints" that documented all the recent high-profile cases that were being suspiciously hyped to promote this idea that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was correct to classify Christian conservatives as "domestic, right-wing terrorists" in this day and age.
At the time, we concluded that while it was a surprising surge in Christian-bashing it was hardly unexpected given what we're told is coming during the Tribulation and Great Tribulation.
Well, the hits just keep on comin' because to the uninformed world a "Christian" is synonymous with "Neo-Nazi" as attempted via the Von Brunn case. At the very least, we "Jesus Freaks" are definitely a part of the lunatic fringe. Just to be sure the world didn't get that message from the mainstream media we've been treated to three new "calls to action" and it's only Monday.
How else do you explain the latest in this series of hate speech? First, Frank Schaeffer has an article on The Huffington Post called "Understanding Domestic Terror USA -- It's About The Twisted Theology Stupid!", which is so obviously anti-Christian in a blatant attempt to foster that very sentiment, that it's quite laughable to read his comment that we "are hard-to-stop lone actors energized by right wing media-driven hate and loony evangelical religion" when he's guilty of doing the same thing on the other side of the aisle!
He cites his former life as an "Evangelical" in the '80s as making him some kind of "insider" who can speak with authority about such things. The sad part is that the many unsaved souls in the secular world who read that will naturally assume he knows what he's talking about, but the truth of the matter is that he's describing his experiences with a man-made political ideology using religion as its vehicle -- not of a personal relationship he had with Jesus Christ, which is what true Christianity is all about.
As stunning (and eye-opening) as that commentary is, I had reader James H alert me to the oh so relevant (relevant because it involves...drum roll please...that new Transformers film again!) story that Megan Fox was was interviewed by MSN in a piece titled "The Wit and Wisdom of Megan Fox", which quoted her as saying the following:
"The 'Transformers' bombshell-cum-uninhibited philosophizer also contemplates -- reluctantly -- what she would say to Megatron to keep him from destroying the world. 'I'd barter with him,' she muses to the July issue Total Film UK, 'and say instead of the entire planet, can you just take out all of the white trash, hillbilly, anti-gay, super bible-beating people in Middle America?'" [emphasis added]
Sarah Knoploh at Newsbusters made a good point: "Although nobody asked her who she would like Megatron to obliterate, she volunteered it anyway."
Lastly, and probably the most disturbing of them all, is the fact that CBS News and U.S. News have posted a chilling opinion piece by Bonnie Erbe. Here’s who she is, for those of you who may not be familiar with her work: Bonnie Erbe is a contributing Editor at U.S. News & World Report and hosts PBS’s weekly news analysis program, To The Contrary With Bonnie Erbe. She also writes a weekly syndicated newspaper column for Scripps Howard News Service.
Obviously, those are some top credentials. Her voice is loud and ir reaches far and wide. Here’s what it’s saying in a nutshell: Round up "hate speech" promoters. "Round up hate-promoters now, before any more Holocaust Museum attacks" to be exact. Wow. Read to full column HERE at CBS News.
Nice. It's quickly getting to the point where people are just accepting that we're a "problem" -- soon, the only problem in the world -- that needs to be dealt with. We know what happened in the 1940s when a similar sentiment swept throughout Germany and Europe, don't we?
In the end, I guess I'm a "domestic terrorist" because I identify myself as a Christian, huh? The irony of these stories is that they UNDENIABLY PROVE EXACTLY WHAT GOD SAID WOULD HAPPEN in these times.
Therefore, what it sets out to do (discredit, disprove, demonize Christianity) completely backfires! Conclusive proof that there's more to this "loony evangelical religion" as Schaeffer calls it, than a bunch of "Jesus Freaks" who are infecting the world with their "twisted theology".
Unfortunately, the Bible also tells us how this one will play out. It's only going to get worse folks.
Keep looking up. Come quickly Lord!
