A Mountain Of Evidence

All the talk since last week about the Ark of the Covenant being located in Ethiopia has led me and a few others on a spiritual quest of sorts.

We're convinced there's going to be a lot more to that story than just an "Oops! Sorry, we never intended to unveil the Ark in public. We just wanted to let everyone know we have it." comment.

I want to share IN FULL what a fellow Brother in Christ (John Buckingham) had revealed to him last week. He notified me right away and I'm glad he did because it was perfect timing really because he had already travelled down the road I was just beginning to walk down myself in this same study and that naturally piqued my interest.

Please share your thoughts and add to this study in the Comments Section because I can't shake the sense that there's something here that God wants us to pick up on.

Well in case you are running out of titillating scenarios let me give you one you can run with. Today I was reading my Bible in length and reading news articles which melded together (love it when God does that!).

On Yahoo news June 23rd, an article titled "Locusts Swoop Down on Ethiopia" caught my eye just after I had read Isaiah 18:1 which deals with Ethiopia and states --"Woe to the land shadowed by buzzing wings"

Then all week long we've read about the Ethiopians bringing the supposed "Arc of the Covenant" to Rome on June 26th. Now read Isaiah 18:7 which states "In that time a present will be brought to the Lord of hosts from people tall and smooth of skin and from a people terrible from their beginning onward, a nation powerful and treading down, whose land the rivers divide -- To the place of the name of the Lord of hosts, to mount Zion.

It's amazing to watch prophecy fulfilled before your very eyes. Obviously, God is very upset that Ethiopians are messing with the "Arc of the Covenant" a false one or a true one and has dispatched a few billion locusts to get their attention.

The phrase (in my Bible)--"To the place of the name of the Lord of hosts" probably in the original Greek or Hebrew could be interpreted as Rome, being that the Pope is the "Vicar of Christ on Earth" in Rome as per the Catholic (cult) Church.

Read all of Isaiah 18 for the full effect and if you agree you might want to polish it up and add it to your website.

(Email #2)

I sent you an email earlier today concerning Isaiah 18 and then I asked the Lord for discernment and re-read Isaiah 18 again and was completely blown away.

Not only does it talk about this week's two events of "locusts eating up Ethiopia" (June 23rd) and the "Arc of the Covenant being taken to Rome" (June 26th), but it also tells all the people of the Earth to pay attention in the strongest of terms by saying -- in verse 3 -- when God hangs a banner across the mountains the world will see it. And when God blows His trumpet the whole Earth hears it. What He is saying is, "Everyone on Earth, pay attention now!!!"

Then He says to Isaiah "I will take my rest", or in other words, my preparations are complete, I've completed the place for my Church / Bride and the end time scenario. Then He says -- I will look down from my dwelling place (Heaven) and see clearly what He's about to do.

Then He says in verse 5 -- before the harvest (end time harvest?), when the bud (Church/Bride?) is perfect, and the sour grape (left behind people?) is ripening in the flower, He will do two things. He will both cut off the sprigs (His Church/Bride?) with pruning hooks and take away (Rapture them?) and cut down the branches (lost left behind?)

Verse 6 -- They (branches left behind?) will be left together for the mountain birds of prey and for the beasts of the earth (Nephilim?). The birds of prey will summer on them and the beasts of the earth will winter on them.

When will this happen? Verse 7 -- In that time (right now?) a present (Ark of the Covenant?) will be brought to the Lord of hosts (false Lord of hosts? God being sarcastic?) from a people tall and smooth of skin (earthly people? "alien/extraterrestrial" beings?), and from a people terrible from their beginning onward, a nation powerful and treading down, Whose land the rivers divide.

Where is this present (Ark of the Covenant?) to be delivered? Verse 7 -- To the place of the name of the Lord of hosts, Mount Zion (Rome?). Again, is perhaps the Lord being sarcastic in speaking of the false counterfeit/false place of the Lord of hosts? Rome where the Pope, the "Vicar of Christ on Earth", and the false church resides would make sense.

So, what I believe the Lord is saying here is:

The two events we witnessed this week -- locusts eating up Ethiopia and the false Ark of the Covenant being rumored to have been delivered to the location of the false church (Rome) -- will trigger (or directly coincide with) the Rapture of the church and the Tribulation events to follow. It also speaks of the mountain birds of prey having their way with the people left behind "in summer" (this summer?) and the "beasts of the earth" (Nephilim giants?), which you have covered in your site so well, having their way with the left behind in winter (this winter?)

I have been excited reading your site for the last few weeks and that excitement and my long time interest in Bible prophecy has compelled me to strike out on my own Rapture timetable with the Lord's help. How did I do? I am excited and interested in your take on my findings.

The trumpet is about ready to blow I think -- if you agree with what I've found, get the word out.

(Email #3)

I keep re-reading Isaiah 18 for more insight and clarity and I believe I have found more.

In verse 3 He's addressing all of humanity saying, "All inhabitants of the world and dwellers on the earth". In others words, everyone pay great attention!!! Next verses, "When He lifts a banner on the mountains, you (you'll) see it; and when He blows a trumpet, you (you'll) hear it." And (my words) what He is saying is, "When I Rapture my church, the whole world will know it."

Now in verse 4: "The Lord said to me (Isaiah), I will take my rest, (I have prepared a place for my bride and made ready the tribulation period?).

"I will look from My dwelling place (Heaven?)." And what did he see? "Like clear heat in sunshine, like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest." I had to think about these last two verses for a while, then they came to me. On a very hot sunny day you see the heat rising off asphalt or concrete, it's clear heat and it's rising. And the second part, "like a cloud of dew in the heat of the harvest". In both statements, He's talking about something rising. He's taking about the Rapture of the Church! Rising to be with Him in the clouds!

Then in the next verses (as I wrote earlier) He talks of the harvest, the ones who will be taken, and the ones who will be left behind and what will happen to the ones left behind.

Then in verse 7-- when this will happen?-- (now?) and why -- because a present (Ark of the Covenant?) will be delivered by Ethiopians to the place of the name of the (false) Lord of hosts -- Rome.

My theory? When Rome gets this false "Ark of the Covenant" ( and probably soon after the Rapture) they will claim it is the true Ark with all is original powers. (Ark powers that were displayed in the Moses movies and the Indiana Jones movies and of course the Bible itself)

Then, as I believe and you have posted on your site, one of the "beasts" of the last days, the Antichrist or the False Prophet will come back as Pope John Paul II who the world loved and he will totally deceive the majority of people with his lying signs and wonders in concert with the false Ark. This will fulfill Revelation 17:8 which says, (my paraphrase) "the beast (Pope John Paul) that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel (who wouldn't?), whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was (Pope John Paul), and is not (he died), and yet is (John Paul's body is back and taken over by the beast).

Remember the Bible says that Satan can manifest himself as anything he wants to and even an angel of light (or an old Pope?).

Also to fulfill Revelation 17:10, there are also seven kings (seven Popes/kings since the Vatican became it's own nation in 1929). Five have fallen (when John had the vision), one is (Pope John Paul), and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time (present Pope Benedict?). The beast that was (Pope John Paul?), and is not (he died), is himself also the eighth (coming Antichrist or False Prophet?) and is of the seven (which he was), and is going to perdition.

Jeff, it's getting late and I need to go to bed. Church in the morning. Feel free to use any or all of my emails for your site and my name as well and get the word out. He's coming soon. I may be wrong about my assessment of Isaiah 18, but I truly believe the Lord has led me there and has helped me discern his words to encourage His flock of His soon return.

Post away like only you can!

(Email #4)

Did you get the last email I sent you (June 30) concerning the false reporting of the Ark being taken to Rome by the Ethiopians? What you put on your site will have to be modified from my original "take" to reflect that it appears the destination will be Jerusalem (as per God's Word) rather than Rome as originally speculated.

When the Ethiopians move this false or real Ark, whether they move it openly or covertly, is a time I believe one needs to be "looking up" because the rest of Isaiah 18 as I interpreted it "seems" to speak for itself.

Amen! Amazing! I can't think of another piece I would want to lead with as we near the beginning of what could be the last few days of "normal" before the Rapture (for Pre-Trib proponents) and possibly even the Tribulation begins on July 10th/July 11th.

Stay tuned because the next few days could be exciting ones.

Saw an interview of author James Rollins this week ("The Doomsday Key"), who referenced what's called the "Prophecy of the Popes", made by a 12th Century Irish Saint, St. Malachi. The prophecy states that the 112th Pope will see the end of the world. Also, the descriptions of all the other popes so far been accurate. The current Pope, Pope Benedict, is the 111th Pope.

The interview also presents info on genetically-modified food crops, i.e. corn that has been modified to have contraceptive effects on people, thus lowering fertility.

I've never heard of either of these two points, but you or some LUF readers may have. Quite interesting.

Greetings! I believe you need to do some more checking on some of the reports you mention in this column. The original reports came from the Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church in an Italian newspaper. By now it's clear his original statement was mis-quoted and then the Italian was mis-translated, causing all the confusion. (see WND, Ethiopian church speaks out on Ark of the Covenant: Statement says Ten Commandments box won't be displayed) Even in the original confusion, there was nothing about plans to bring the Arc to Rome; just that the news conference about the Ark was supposed to take place there. So your original correspondent's claim that the Ark was going to be brought to Rome, etc., was incorrect.

Second, unless you're going to be reading Scripture in the original languages or in a very closely-related translation (as in the Peshitta, which is the Aramaic-language bible, and pre-dates the Greek translations), you need to rely on a number of different translations to get the full effect of the texts. (As a side note, you can check out the Peshitta at the Aramaic Peshitta Bible Repository. The site I usually use, www.peshitta.org, appears to be down at this time.) Simply put, to say that, "The phrase (in my Bible)--"To the place of the name of the Lord of hosts" probably in the original Greek or Hebrew could be interpreted as Rome, being that the Pope is the "Vicar of Christ on Earth" in Rome as per the Catholic (cult) Church." (emphasis added) is wrong. A "Vicar" ACTS in the name of his King; the location of the vicar is NOT "the place of the name" of the king. This is even born out by his own translation, which states that the place of the name of the Lord is Mount Zion. All the translations I checked (thanks to Biblegateway.com) state that Mount Zion is the "place of the name of the Lord", NOT Rome. (The New Living Translation says, "They will bring the gifts to Jerusalem, where the Lord of Heaven’s Armies dwells," with the note that the Hebrew reads "Mt. Zion" instead of Jerusalem.)

As for the possibility of Pope JP2 "coming back" as the false prophet, I can assure you as a Roman Catholic that if someone claiming to be him should appear, the RCC would be the first to reject this false pope. Those who have been dead and buried simply do not reappear claiming to be from heaven. The only POSSIBLE way that I can see where such an event MIGHT be even remotely considered is if someone (or something) else were to appear along with this thing claiming to be JP2, and claim that the both of them are the two witnesses. Even this would not be accepted, since the two witnesses are commonly believed to be Enoch and Elijah, both of whom were taken up to heaven before death. Since JP2 died and was buried, he could not fulfill this role.

I have more to say about Isaiah 18, but I've got to get going.

Yours in Christ,

Jim Carroll

When reading this, keep in mind that the G-8 group will be meeting in Italy this week. And also keep in mind that the Pope will meet with the President on Friday. The part where they refer to the 72 days of work followed by the 73rd of rest was part of a speech the President gave on his first 100 days in office. He said the next 100 days will be 72 days of work followed by the 73rd day of rest. Many people believe those words have some kind meaning as to what happens next. What could those words be telling us. It's interesting to note that the dates July 10, 11 fall on or around the 73rd day of rest.

If the ark is brought to Jeruselem that would be the impetus for Israel to agree to a Palestinian state in exchage for a piece of the temple mount to build a new temple, and for antichrist to broker the deal.

I'm still not a date kind of guy but soon is taking on a new significance.

So many things are being revealed to so many at the same time...

An example. 3 years ago, the Lord called me to repentence so I was reading much more of the bible than is normal for me and listening to bible studies on tape. One thing struck me: How can it be that anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord can be saved and yet many will say to Him on that day "behold I never knew you". I struggled with this quite a bit. and over time God has revealed to me the answer to my question. And things like that have been happening to all of us. We have questions or thoughts and the next thing you know a brother or sister in Christ is talking about that very thing or asking the same questions.

Things are definitely moving fast at this point. or 'coming quickly'.

God bless,

RE: the Prophecy of St. Malachi, I'm afraid Mr. Rollins is a bit incorrect in his presentation/ interpretation. Malachi's predicted only 111 popes for certain. The 112th prediction is written in such a way that it may or may not be describing a specific or particular person. It may be that "Peter the Roman" refers not to a pope but an administrator. This would be the case if something would prevent the cardinals from validly electing a new pope. It would not be the first time in Church history that this would have happened.

There are a number of other prophecies that state that this pope will be forced into exile and die a cruel death there. If this is the case, then the same forces that would cause Benedict XVI to go into exile might also prevent the cardinals from meeting in the Vatican to vote on a successor.

In any case, what Malachi refers to is not the end of the world or the end of time, it is the end of an age. The first age, the Age of the Father, existed during the time of the Old Testament Patriarchs. The second age, the Age of the Son, existed from the time of Christ's sacrifice on the Cross until the present day. This next age would be the Age of the Holy Spirit.

Warren, one thing to consider is the growth in the number of "Christian" ministries which do not teach or actively work against baptism with the Trinitarian formula. The Great Commission clearly tells us to go an baptize "In the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Yet there are many churches out there that do not "baptize", they "dedicate to the Lord"; or they will baptize in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of John the Baptist; or they will baptize in the name of the Father alone. So many who claim the name Christian yet who have been improperly or incompletely baptized, marked by the waters of baptism as belonging to G_D.

Here's a slightly different take on Isaiah 18. The message of the chapter is to a restless and busy land somewhere beyond the known world (at that time.) The land and people are described in verse 2. There will be an unmistakable sign or summons for those who have ears to hear and eyes to see. In the time of heat, God will look down and, in "the nick of time," will reap a harvest that some in the world had planned on taking for themselves. Those who are left will be food for the birds of prey and the beasts of the earth. AT THAT TIME (the time of the summons) God's swift messengers (Ps. 104:4) will deliver a gift to God at His dwelling place in the New Jerusalem. I believe the gift could be the believers harvested from America!

Lawsy, I have had no internet connection since July 1, and I tell you all now, I have missed ALOT!

I am trying to catch up on the posts that JRed keeps abreast of, as well as read the comments after each post. I find some of my best understanding hidden within the comments section :)

So, thanks to all of you that help to explain this to those of us, like myself, that may be prophecy challenged.

And thanks ALWAYS to JRed and his lovely wife for keeping the site going for us....

Do you think it was a coincidence that Jesus died during passover?Or that the Holy Spirit birthed the church on the feast of Pentecost? No! These events were scheduled and foretold by God and happened on the feast day of their appointed time. The rapture will also occur at it's appropriate feast: the feast of trumpets! Study the feasts and see if God will affirm to your spirit that that is the appointed time!

Jim Collins mentions this man as the person making the statement about the ark - "the Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church".
The translation I read said that they had made many copies of the real thing and put one in every church in Ethiopia. Presumably for that to have been a mistranslation the people doing the translation would have got so much completely wrong that we might guess he was really talking about a new car. Anyway, I thought that if a copy had been put in every church then surely someone would have noticed it eh?
And how did the translation work out the June 26th unveiling date? Can we completely dismiss the article altogether?
I also heard this Ethiopian cleric was meeting with the pope a week or so ago. Any confirmation on that?
Now we are on the eve of Barack and Benedict (both names means a blessing) meeting.
Exciting times.

Phil.

Anonymous - Phil, Shalom! The Ethiopian Orthodox Church traditionally has copies of the Ark in all of its churches; these are frequently carried in religious processions and during festivals. The original, one-and-only Ark is supposed to be in a church in Axum, hidden from view. The comments originally attributed to His Beatitude Patriarch Abuna Paulos came during a two-day religious summit that was held in Italy prior to the G-8 summit. You can read a brief article about it here: G-8's Religious Leaders Look at Underlying "Power": Parallel Summit Considers Different Dimension of Same Problems. This summit was held on June 16 and 17 of this year. From what I've been able to gather from scattered news reports, the confusion came about due to a news reporter looking for something sensational (probably to justify his having been assigned to this boring meeting), when a "throw-away" comment by His Beatitude about the ark, and yes it would be nice to build a museum to let people view it, was blown out of proportion. Just to be clear, there are no plans to build a museum to allow people to view the Ark; it will remain hidden in Axum for the foreseeable future.

The date of June 26 came because His Beatitude made some comment about confirming the existence of the Ark "this Friday", which would have been June 19; however, the story didn't hit the major news media until after the weekend, at which point "this Friday" became "June 26".

Hope this clears things up.

Isn't there a Black Pope the Jesuit Pope elected last year. IM not Catholic so I don't really know how important this person is to the religion?
