Persecute The Christian Meme Continues

In the continuing saga that is conditioning the world (specifically, the United States) to persecute Christians for the beliefs we hold near and dear, I came across the story that Paleontologists were brought to tears, laughter by Creation Museum.

For those who don't know, the Creation Museum is an amazing exhibit in Kentucky I'm told that seeks to put Creationism on full display for the world to see. Yes, it even tries to give a Biblical explanation for the existence of dinosaurs as part of God's creation even though the Bible isn't explicit in talking about them (i.e. it doesn't specifically use the word or mention them in any clear cut way even though we know that ALL THINGS -- yes, even the dinosaurs -- were created by our all powerful God).

For one group of Paleontologists, a tour of the Creation Museum seemed like a great tongue-in-cheek way to cap off a serious conference. But while there were a few laughs and some clowning for the camera, most left more offended than amused by the frightening way in which evolution -- and their life's work -- was attacked.

"It's sort of a monument to scientific illiteracy, isn't it?" said Jerry Lipps, professor of geology, paleontology and evolution at University of California, Berkeley.

"Like Sunday school with statues...this is a special brand of religion here. I don't think even most mainstream Christians would believe in this interpretation of Earth's history."

Boy, he said a mouthful didn't he? In a mere 38 words he not only summed up the growing sentiment that will one day make it easy for the Antichrist to implement his plan to persecute the saints (just as prophesied), but he also captured the problem with "Churchianity" (many mainstream Christians) today who believe in God, but ignore Bible prophecy let alone the parts about Jesus Christ's return completely. Why? Because they don't take the Holy Bible and God's Word as contained within its pages LITERALLY as they should.

That's the aspect of this story I want us to focus on for a moment. Is our source to explain all things in this world our faith or our science? Personally, I think it takes much more faith to believe in scientific things like the Theory of Evolution (notice that it's still a "theory" even with Ida being "discovered" recently) than it does Creation as described in the Holy Bible.

See, what we need to always be mindful of is that if something is proven to exist (have existed), then it obviously came about because our sovereign God -- Creator of the Universe -- created it Himself, or allowed for it to be created. If we're Christians like we say we are, then there's simply no disputing that fact.

So, the next step then is to say to ourselves, "Ok, if dinosaurs are a proven fact -- they existed on this planet at one point in time -- then we must conclude that God created them, and we must fit them within our understanding of the Bible and God's Holy Word." Why? Because if we do the reverse, the complete opposite, and say to ourselves, "Well, the Bible isn't explicit in mentioning the dinosaurs so therefore we should only believe parts of the Bible that fit within science (or maybe deny all of it) because it obviously tells us more than God's Word." Do you see the difference -- and the danger -- depending on which perspective you as a Christian cling to? I certainly hope so because one strengthens our faith while the other completely diminishes it.

Daryl Domning, professor of anatomy at Howard University, held his chin and shook his head at several points during the tour.

"This bothers me as a scientist and as a Christian, because it's just as much a distortion and misrepresentation of Christianity as it is of science," he said.

Right. Because the THEORY of Evolution is more sound than the holy, indisputable, immutable, unshakable Word of God that tells us how the world was created, right?

Sadly, this sentiment has been around since the museum first opened. Here's an Australian's take on the exhibit:

And here's a news report from the BBC, which also portrays the museum in a mocking, negative light:

The Bible’s account of beginnings cannot be tested in a laboratory, so secular scientists -- and even some Christians I'm afraid -- believe it is not science and must be classified as religion. Is that true though? Doesn't the Bible have something to say about every single aspect of this life, which would include all the sciences like astronomy, archaeology, paleontology, health-medical, etc.? I believe it does because I believe that's how powerful God's holy Word is. I mean, it was His words that spoke the universe into existence so there you go. Plus, I believe it's our Instruction Manual For This Life so naturally it would have something to say about nearly every facet of it.

What does this story today prove? That the disdain and hatred for Christians (mainly the fundamentalists) is burgeoning. We know where it will lead I'm afraid. Will other so-called Christians make a decision to stand with us, or stand against us when the going gets rough?

The clock is ticking folks. The time to get our spiritual house in order is NOW!

Come quickly Lord!

Dear JRed, please read the book of Job - leviathan and behemoth are described pretty strongly and appear to be an underwater dragon and pliosaur.

I read the article and think most of those scientists, yes even the ones that belong to a church, will find on that fateful day when we are judged, that their faith was insufficient.

In the last few years that I have studied the bible, bible prophecy and related matters, I have come to the conclusion that many people who call themselves Christians and live a good life, will find they are going to hell instead because they fall short (not on works) but on the primary doctrinal issues (resurrection, creationism, etc.) of Christianity that truly demonstrate your faith.

Faith in Christianity without faith in the tenets of Christianity, is not Christianity.

I find the underlying implications of the wolf in sheep's clothing that the bible warns us about, who are steering the flock away from true biblical teachings, fascinating. An entire book could be written on it (and has I'm sure). I often wonder if it's God's choosing. Based on the Jewish wedding analogy, God (the groom) chose us (the bride) before we chose him. I wonder if the bride/body of Christ is given discernment to see these things, while the others aren't. And maybe discernment is another way of characterizing the holy spirit in us.

Let them mock. They might call biblical Christians ignorant today, but they can't claim ignorance down the line. And who knows, God willing, many have and will continue to come to Christ.

Anyway, I have been to the museum. It is NEVER portrayed in media like it really it. And it is am impressive museum, that unashamedly proclaims the truth.

I am sick of the world being ugly to Christians just because it doesn't fit into their beliefs. When is the last time you saw a bunch of Christians complaining outside of a museum that it's all lies and how dare the "world" lie to our children about the truth. Last time I checked the Smithsonian didn't have people complaining about it. Further more, if people don't want to look at it then they just shouldn't go to it. I choose not to pay for movies I feel are offensive to my faith, if people are offended by it they shouldn't go. I would like to see the statistics--how many creation museums are there verses secular ones. What do they have to complain about?

JRed,

Just something to note.

The term "dinosaurs" is not mentioned in the Bible because it was coined by Sir Richard Owen in 1841. As the KJV of the Bible was written in 1611 (and I believe another in 1797), the word was not around. Newer versions of this Bible have fallen in the fight and have either ignored the answer or changed it it when the terms dragon, leviathon or behemoth were used. For example, one version has "jackal" instead of "dragon". I don't know about you, but God knows what He made and if He meant jackal and there wasn't a word for it, He would have used a similar word, not dragon, a creature so different from a jackal.
