As promised, I wanted to give you all a quick update on the status of my wife's health following the last 2 weeks during which we've been struggling with her relapse with severe depression.
First and foremost, she wanted me to personally thank each and every one of you for taking the time to reach out, write a comment, and of course to pray for her healing, recovery, and well-being. Many of the comments that people wrote were very encouraging to her and it helped her to know that she wasn't the only person who has ever experienced such things.
Of course, when things are "normal" you know that's the case, but when you're in the midst of such a horrible disease you can't think straight and logic goes right out the window. Case in point, she felt like no one loved her and that she didn't have any love for anyone else either despite the fact that the evidence to the contrary was all around her. The Subtle Serpent, master of deceit and lies, was definitely present in all of this.
In any event, as it turns out, the first medicine they gave her actually ended up making her worse. At first, you could barely notice it as she seemed the same and felt the same (she didn't feel like she was getting better, she didn't feel like she was getting any worse). However, suddenly around day 6 or 7 on that medicine, she had one of the worst nights of her life!
The "fiery darts" in the form of racing thoughts, worries, and feelings of hopelessness and despair ruled her to the point where she was literally in tears for hours on end until the morning and the promise of a new day arrived.
Fortunately, the next day was her appointment with her doctor and the doctor knew right away that she was on the wrong medicine because it was, in fact, making her worse. Remarkably, the very next medicine they prescribed for her worked almost instantly! Within 24 hours, she was a completely different person and back to her old self! Praise God!
She knows she has God and all of you and your prayers to thank for her turnaround. One major positive to come out of this dark episode was that she said to me the other day that she doesn't remember a time in her life (even during previous bouts with depression) when she's prayed or read the Bible as much as she has these past 2 weeks. Praise God!
Again, I want to personally thank each and every one of you who lifted us both up in prayer. It truly means a lot to us that people we've never met or spoken to care enough to devote their own time and energy to trying to help us in our time of need.
When people ask us what makes Christians so different from others it's these types of experiences that we will always point to -- the Body of Christ encouraging and praying for one another whenever it's needed most.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Hope to meet you all in the air one day very soon.

What We're Praying/Talking About
Our faith in action, or our small contribution in trying to apply what we're taught in Hebrews 5-6 and James 2:17-26 for the benefit of our dear brothers and sisters within the Body of Christ...
