Coming Soon: Black Awakening Meme

I love movies. However, I also recognize how powerful they can be on young, impressionable hearts and minds as well as the mature unsuspecting masses who simply want to "unplug" ("tune in and tune out") for a couple of hours all in the name of "entertainment" and "fun".

That's why I'm constantly on guard and actively seeking to apply the commands given to us in Matthew 10:16 and Ephesians 5:11 as they pertain to film and TV.

We just looked at the emerging Mythological Meme in Hollywood that's scheduled for 2010 and how it might contribute to the overall conditioning process in the run-up to Daniel's 70th Week (as in the Tribulation and the Great Tribulation).

That reminded me of another new meme -- albeit a less prominent one -- that seems to be emerging simultaneously.

Are the following films examples of The Black Awakening Meme? I believe that they could be, but have a look for yourself and decide.

The Crazies Movie Trailer

One Sentence Summary:
Inhabitants of a small Pennsylvania town are beset by death and insanity after a plane crash lets loose a secret biological weapon into the water supply.

Plot Overview:
David Dutton is sheriff of Ogden Marsh, a picture-perfect American town with happy, law-abiding citizens. But one night, one of them comes to a school baseball game with a loaded shotgun, ready to kill. Another man burns down his own house -- after locking his wife and young son in a closet inside. Within days, the town has transformed into a sickening asylum; people who days ago lived quiet, unremarkable lives have now become depraved, blood-thirsty killers, hiding in the darkness with guns and knives. Plot Overview:
Shrouded in secrecy, the mystery surrounding Christopher Nolan's upcoming thriller Inception has been extremely hard to penetrate. The trailer gives us some clues that it's a psychological thriller involving the bending of space and time perhaps.

Of course, these follow the haunting depiction of complete anarchy and societal breakdown in The Road that just premiered in mid-October along with Dorian Gray. I also learned of another Direct-To-DVD film that came out this week that's getting a ton of buzz.

Ink Movie Trailer

Plot Overview:
John and Emma, father and daughter, are thrust into a fantastical dream-world battle between forces of good and evil in this allegorical tale of love, loss and the search for redemption.

Lastly, there are a few other movies to keep our eyes on. For instance, Denzel Washington will be in theaters again in January 2010:

The Book of Eli Movie Trailer

Plot Overview:
In The Book of Eli, a movie set in a post-apocalyptic future, Denzel Washington plays the role of Eli, a lone hero who detains the key of a brighter future and who has to fight to deliver his gift. Specifically, a lone hero must fight his way across the wasteland of post-apocalyptic America to protect a sacred book that holds the key to saving the future of humanity.

Plus, Nicholas Cage is back in 2010 in not one, but two films that are sure to deliver some serious symbolism along the lines of Knowing.

Season of the Witch Movie Trailer

Plot Overview:
The story revolves around a group of knights in 14th century France who must transport a woman accused of witchcraft to a mountain abbey, where the monks will seek to understand and destroy her powers, believed to be the source of the Black Plague.

Cage is also the star in The Sorcerer's Apprentice to be released a few months after that one. Reviewing the description I probably should've included it with the Mythological Meme group.

I wonder of a film like this might lay the NLP groundwork for what will be the world's reaction and response towards the Two Witnesses and their ministry when they come on to the scene as well. I mean, we already know the kind of power that God will give them during those 3.5 years before they're killed. We already know the world will rejoice and celebrate once it is learned that they are lying dead in the street for everyone to see. So, isn't it natural to presume that the world --fueled by a deceptive media -- will view those Two Witnesses as modern-day witches/warlocks in a sense when they are surely anything but?

Either way, it's not a newsflash that Hollywood is a sort of Seat of Satan. Always has been, always will be. What's disturbing is to watch how these stories evolve year-by-year and I challenge anyone to try and convince me that there's not a definite spiritual thread constantly running through everything that gets spit out at us from that place.

Fortunately, we know how things will end for such peddlers of pure evil:

Romans 6:12-13 (KJV) Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Creative juices of the brain being used as "instruments of unrighteousness unto sin" is despicable. Just because we can dream it, doesn't mean we should do it. Yet, year after year, that's how Hollywood operates, forever pushing the envelope by trying to put more depravity, more immorality, onto the big screen than the last time.

God have mercy on them for creating such things. God have mercy on those who enjoy watching such things with delight.
