There are many reasons to kneel (or lie prostrate) in awe and reverence of our Heavenly Father. Personally, one of my favorites is in response to Him as Creator of the Universe.
It's hard to go through a single day without appreciating at some point how amazing His creation really is especially once you start to recognize how ordered and organized it all is. Plus, I'm the type of person who will see a simple little sparrow hopping around outside on my front lawn and I'll sit there and watch him until he flies away even if here's out there for 20 minutes.
All of that is the set-up for a video I just saw. This film shows the known universe as mapped through astronomical observations. Every satellite, moon, planet, star and galaxy is represented to scale and in its correct, measured location according to the best scientific research to date.
The data is maintained and curated by Research Astrophysicists at the American Museum of Natural History as the Digital Universe Atlas.
Take a look at the following video clip and marvel at the thought of how even though we're all these tiny little specks in the grand scheme of things we're still the Lord's most prized possession, and He loves us so much that He gave His only Son Jesus Christ so that we may live and find eternal life.
The Known Universe By AMNH
I'm sorry, but I just don't understand how the 'skeptic' or downright 'atheist' could possibly think that all of this exists by mere chance given the size and scope of the universe and how ordered it all is.
It reminds me of something I heard in a recent Francis Chan sermon when he was talking about a similar experience he had in San Francisco when he attended a similar event and film showing at some kind of planetarium there:
It's pretty amazing when you look at the solar system because you just go, 'Man, we're just this tiny speck in this massive universe, and the Sun, and the way everything works, and...!' But then they talk about 'the beginning', and they just say, 'It all started with energy and dark matter.' Energy and dark matter. Billions of years ago. You know how you're watching something and it almost sickens you? I mean, you've just seen the beauty of this thing, and you're just going, 'How could anyone in this room believe that an eternal dark matter, an energy, and then all of this?' And then here we are all sitting in this room with the technology to create a video presentation like that, and communicate, and love one another, and cry for one another and laugh with one another, and go, 'Ah, this is just a random chance!' It's just -- ugghhh -- I just got sick to my stomach! But just the cleverness of the way they put the video together and go, 'Yeah, energy and dark matter, and then...' It's just -- really?
That to me describes the same type of response I had when watching this.
What We're Praying/Talking About
Our faith in action, or our small contribution in trying to apply what we're taught in Hebrews 5-6 and James 2:17-26 for the benefit of our dear brothers and sisters within the Body of Christ...

John 1:3
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
Consider for a moment that the expanse of the universe is also infinitesimal. That we as humans have been set right in the middle of 2 universes! One of immensity and one of infinitesimal. We are suspended within His plan and operation. Dare I turn to the left or to the right before I thank Him for providing the breathe to do so! Perspective arrests my mind and spirit to give Him the Praise and Thanksgiving for these two realizations of my place in His Creation!
One is for awe and wonder at His works and the other is for His purpose of redemption! His Shed Blood in the infinitesimal life!
Colossians 1:19-20
For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
The Inner Life of the Cell
John 1:3
All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.

JRed,
If you really want to have your mind blown in regards to God's attention to detail, go to http://bethlehemstar.net/.
I was having a conversation with my brother in law a few years back and he had just read an article in the NYtimes about a scientist who stated that he's mapped out the universe and it is held within a dodecahedron (a twelve sided shape). I thought it was fascinating that it had twelve sides much like there are twelve foundations to the New Jerusalem (Rev. 21), twelve tribes, 12 apostles, 12 gates.
You know, the atheist is just as religous as any other religous person. The Tree of Knowledge bids us to explain away GOD and thus to be able to triumph over HIM. Whereas the Tree of Life bids us to live and only those who are humble enough to become foolish (without understanding, and the ability to 'explain away GOD) come out of the matrix and enjoy fellowship with JESUS. To paraphrase from Hans Urs Von Balthasar's book The Glory of the LORD (keep in mind I am not Catholic and do not completly agree with it or him, but did find some of his points, poignant): If beauty is separated from truth and goodness, it becomes distorted (pornographic)and easily explained away or even disgarded. This is why we have abortion, porn, sex trade industry, slavery, greed, divorce etc. Oh we will have summits on climate change and sacrifice ourselves for mother gia, but to the child, made in GODs image, knit together by HIS hands, we will easily disgard for the sake of convenience. How sad that the world regards itself as a dog and its offspring like a puppy that will eat its own feces!
There are many times I will go out into our back field at night and look at the stars and I am just, wowed by it all! Or when I was teaching our kids about Fibonacci's spiral math, that you can witness in plants! I am amazed at how I fell in love with our adopted daughter-I didn't know her at all; she didn't do anything to earn my love and yet I love her so intensly that I would kill for her and I would die for her! Explain love away! You can't. It is an act of ones will. And this woman is so thankful that JESUS willed to love me and rescue me from hell and even while knowing how pathetic I was (and still am), chose to save me! Explain passion!
Explain suffering, explain glory.
Rev. 5: 13 "To HIM WHO sits on the throne and to the Lamb, be praise and honor and glory and power forever and ever!"

Great post!

Psalm 19:1-4
The heavens declare the glory of God: and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
Isaiah 40:26
Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.
Job 12: 7-10
But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee: or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee. Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this? In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.
Psalm 53:1
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
Romans 1:18-25
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest to them; for God hath shewed it to them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Have you seen The Star of Bethlehem DVD?? Excellent.
Basically, it's a presentation given by a Christian lawyer who did a lot of research using an astronomical computer program to see what was being displayed in the heavens at the time of Christ's birth and how it fulfilled scripture breathtakingly!... It gives me chills!! So incredible!
Here is the link to site:

Be blessed.

What Is Good?
December 22, 2009
"And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day." (Genesis 1:31)
Without going into a lengthy and philosophical discussion, let us look at the basic definition of the Hebrew word that God chose to use in Genesis 1.
Here is the expanded definition and catalog of the English word used to translate the Hebrew word towb (tobe), taken from the widely recognized lexicon in the Strong's Exhaustive Concordance:
Good (as an adjective) in the widest sense; use likewise as a noun, both in the masculine and the feminine, the singular and the plural (good, a good or good thing, a good man or woman; the good, goods or goodthings, good men or women), also as an adverb (well):—beautiful, best better, bountiful, cheerful, at ease, fair (word), (be in) favour, fine, glad, good (deed, -lier, -liest, -ly, -ness, -s), graciously, joyful, kindly, kindness, liketh (best), loving, merry, most, pleasant, pleaseth, pleasure, precious, prosperity, ready, sweet, wealth, welfare, (be) well ([ -favoured]).
Towb is a common and simple word. It always speaks of something that is good, nice, pretty, or pleasant, etc. It never speaks of something that hurts, kills, is ugly, random, purposeless, or otherwise not good. It is a consistent term, one that is used throughout as a description for "good" things. Why would anyone ever want to make the word say anything else?
Professing Christians who must include evolutionary processes in the "days" of creation need to make "good" something other than what the inspired Word calls for. Again, the question is "why?" Perhaps it is because man's science appears to mean more to them than God's Word. HMM III
