It's only a matter of time before the familiar talking heads speak out en masse to state that there is clear evidence as to why Christians are to be despised.

Yep, no doubt about it now. Sure, we already knew this was coming based on what God's Word tells us quite explicitly about the coming future for believers. Still, there's been a serious uptick in the 'Let's Hate The Christians And Hold Them Responsible Meme' over the course of a single week.

First, we looked at the Bumper Sticker controversey and how that was clearly contributing to this meme. Now, it's the tragedy out of Washington state.

Just when I thought we couldn't possibly identify any additional observations from that brutal murder over the weekend, we're treated to possibly the real reason for such a senseless act of violence -- it will help to pile on Christians and ultimately paint us as the 'problem' in this nation (which is only a small step away from becoming 'evil' and not just here, but around the world).

Here's the loaded headline: Huckabee Granted Clemency To Man Wanted For Questioning.

The headline makes it pretty obvious who the real target is, doesn't it? I mean, it's not the murderer, but one of the few men of character in politics today -- Mike Huckabee.

Let's face it, next to Sarah Palin, Huckabee is perhaps the most openly religious politician on the Republican side of the aisle, and the one of the most prominent. I'd be hard pressed to identify another individual who is better suited to hold that distinction.

Ok, so what? Exactly. At first glance, one might just assume this is purely 'politics-as-usual' here. Nothing more, nothing less. However, let's take a brief look at some of the key items included in that same news report.

This is what was revealed about this suspected cop killer. I'll highlight the salient points to make it easy for us to read-between-the-lines here:


Maurice Clemmons, the 37-year-old Tacoma man being sought for questioning in the killing this morning of four Lakewood police officers, has a long criminal record punctuated by violence, erratic behavior and concerns about his mental health.

In another instance, Clemmons was accused of gathering his wife and young relatives around at 3 or 4 in the morning and having them all undress. He told them that families need to "be naked for at least 5 minutes on Sunday," a Pierce County sheriff's report says.

"The whole time Clemmons kept saying things like trust him, the world is going to end soon, and that he was Jesus," the report says.

"She stated that he was saying that the secret service was coming to get him because he had written a letter to the President. She stated his behavior has become unpredictable and erratic. She suspects he is having a mental breakdown," the report says.

Deputies also interviewed other family members. They reported that Clemmons had been saying he could fly and that he expected President Obama to visit to "confirm that he is Messiah in the flesh."


So, in a single tragedy (and a single news report about that event), we have all the major threads that we've been noticing tie together as one coherent narrative:
