Spiritually Symbolic Book Ends?

Wes over at Kingdom Studies did an in-depth expose a few months back comparing President Barack Obama to the Pharaoh archetype in his piece titled "Pharaoh Strikes Again".

Specifically, he pointed out the striking similarities between the two that included:


> Genesis 47:15 – the money system began to fail
> Genesis 47:14 – The money was collected from circulation and given to Pharaoh
> Genesis 47:20 – Things got so difficult that the land and houses were sold to the government
> Genesis 47:21 – People began to leave the major cities
> Genesis 47:24 – Taxes skyrocketed
> People were willing to become slaves to the system as long as the government fed them.


In other words, all of the things that are happening nowadays, which you can read about in any newspaper or hear about on your television news.

Today, I found another curious comparison that I wanted to mention. Actually, for me this is the second curious comparison I will highlight since I likened Obama to Ulysses S. Grant and his administration last year. While that column over a year ago is proving to be SPOT ON (even though it was so crazy at the time), this next one is more in line with the Biblical theme (the most important one) that Wes picked up on and ran with.

Awhile back when the rest of the world was wrapped up in the Michael Jackson saga, God may have just wrapped up His "commentary" to those of us who are watching for the signs indicating His soon return via current events.

Did anyone else see the story about a huge underground chamber being found in Israel? It's being called a "giant Christian cave" by some, an "early Christian refuge" by others.

Let's start with the obvious, which will probably be used by some to demonstrate just how insane I've become with all of this:


A "giant Christian cave", huh? I'm thinking as in "GIANT" (Nephilim) who will come from a "cave" (most likely beneath the Earth) while the "Christian" is stuck in the middle of it all (just as it's written here) in that three word phrase -- "giant Christian cave".


A quick summary of where we are with what we have is in order first because it will properly set the stage for the rest of this piece:


> Many of us believe that 2010 will be a very significant year prophetically speaking, and we expect to see the fulfillment of some major end times prophecies.

> Many of us believe that President Obama (if not the foretold Man of Sin himself) is a forerunner to the coming Antichrist and a precursor that the Tribulation is about to begin.

> Many of us believe that religious persecution of Christians is closer than ever before.

> Many of us believe that an "escape from the things coming upon the Earth" (regardless of whether or not this is referring to the Rapture or not) ties into all of this. The key point here is that we are to pray to be counted worthy to be part of this coming "escape" whatever that might be. Most of you know my thoughts about what I think that "escape" is referring to, but this isn't a Rapture article so let's just leave that out of this for a moment.


Our journey begins by taking a quick look at Herod. He was described as "a madman who murdered his own family and a great many rabbis". He is also known for his colossal building projects in Jerusalem and other parts of the ancient world, including the rebuilding of the Second Temple in Jerusalem, sometimes referred to as "Herod's Temple". He enjoyed the backing of Rome but his excessive brutality was condemned by the Sanhedrin.

Herod the Great appears in ancient Christian Scriptures, in the Gospel according to Matthew (Chapter 2), which describes an event known as the "Massacre of the Innocents". According to Matthew, shortly after the birth of Jesus, Magi from the East visited Herod to inquire the whereabouts of "the one having been born king of the Jews", because they had seen his star in the east and therefore wanted to pay him homage. Herod, who was himself King of the Jews, was alarmed at the prospect of the newborn king usurping his rule.

In the story, Herod assembled the chief priests and scribes of the people and asked them where the "Anointed One" was to be born. They answered, in Bethlehem, citing Micah 5:2. Herod therefore sent the Magi to Bethlehem, instructing them to search for the child and, after they had found him, to "report to me, so that I too may go and worship him". However, after they had found Jesus, the Magi were warned in a dream not to report back to Herod. Similarly, Joseph was warned in a dream that Herod intended to kill Jesus, so he and his family fled to Egypt. When Herod realized he had been outwitted by the Magi, he gave orders to kill all boys of the age of two and under in Bethlehem and its vicinity. Joseph and his family stayed in Egypt until Herod's death, then moved to Nazareth in Galilee as we all know.

So, the same themes emerge even after just a casual study of Herod; themes that are starting to appear in connection with the Obama Administration too. As interesting as all of that is, my favorite part of this entire study today can be found by looking at the items on the source page from National Geographic at the very bottom of each page in the "Latest News Videos" section.

What do we find there today along with this story? Nothing except videos titled "Egypt Mummy Has Sex Changed", "'Grunting' Vibrates Worms To The Surface", and "New Robot Walks And 'Emotes' At The Same Time" so nothing really except EVERYTHING we've been studying recently in connection with end times prophecy!

Look, I'm not saying that there are people out there in every single one of these cases where I "observe" things in pop culture whose sole purpose is to consciously and intentionally orchestrate things like this. That's not logical and it doesn't make much sense to me. I mean, how would that even be humanly possible anyway?

However, we know that in these last days we're dealing with a "spirit of lawlessness" just as prophecy indicates through the Scriptures.


2 Thessalonians 2:1, 7, 10-12 -- "Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ…the secret power of lawlessness is already at work…They perish because they refuse to love the truth so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth..."


If you don't believe we're in the midst of it right now than you're not doing a good job of paying attention to the world around you.

Political unrest (specifically in Iran) is a biggie, but let's not forget a definite increase in random crime lately. Watch your local news if you distrust the national media, and you’ll see mothers trying to kill their children, fathers killing their families and then themselves, serial arsonists burning cars, a wide variety of robberies, vandalism, rape and murder on a daily basis, and even politicians in Congress shoving one another during disagreements. Or worse, politicians who not only ignore legitimate policy questions they should answer on the eve of an election, but who also have the journalist who's asking the questions physically roughed up.

Yes, crime is nothing new, but it does seem to be growing to a crescendo, doesn't it? It's as there's almost complete disregard for any form of law, order, and just plain common decency. The "Black Awakening" is coming for sure. A spirit of lawlessness. A sign of the times.

So, what I'm getting at here is that while this may not be the conscious decision and an intentional act of a single individual (whose putting these particular videos with these particular stories out in the mainstream, which all seem to resonate with all the things that we've been studying for so long here in this forum), that doesn't mean that this spirit of lawlessness isn't at work influencing people subconsciously, behind-the-scenes if you will and that's what we're seeing manifest itself here whenever these bizarre and uncanny coincidences occur. Just my take on it.

Perhaps they're all Satan's calling card -- his fingerprints -- left from his handiwork, and the good Lord is allowing us to spot them and see them wherever they might be, in His amazing grace, to further warn and protect us in this late and urgent hour.

Not to be outdone, I saw another relevant article today titled "King Herod's Quarry Discovered: Dig In Israel Reveals Purported Source Of Stones For Biblical Temple".

Is this the final capstone to this on-going saga that suggests the rebuilding of the Third Temple, the beginning of the Tribulation, the rise of the Antichrist, and the persecution of the saints is at hand?

Sometimes I wonder about the way in which it all seamlessly ties together like this. How what seems like unrelated stories can connect on a spiritual level to the point where they look like "spiritual book ends" marking the various phases of a politician's career and how those phases may or may not impact the world in a prophetic way.
