Don Koenig wrote and excellent commentary about Parables on his World And Church Trends And Bible Prophecy blog.
One excerpt that has stayed with me since reading it is so true:
Those dull of hearing as it relates to Bible prophecy are those that in practice have given up on any literal future fulfillment of Bible prophecy on earth. Instead of seeking understanding in the scriptures they substitute theories of theology that make prophetic passages conform to their religion.
That's where I hit the Pause Button. Then, the very next paragraph is the type of thought that always makes me think twice about writing some of the things that I publish in this forum:
Satan and all the world blinded by him do not know the future. The best they can do is guess or try to manipulate world events to try to make it come about. Nevertheless, God is in control of all future events not Satan. Those without understanding of Bible prophecy cannot know the future so they often dabble in occult practices to try to figure the future out. We see that happening today. Those today that mix paganism and Bible prophecy are doing it because they are still blind and they think they found answers about the timing of the second coming of Jesus through pagan methods and theories. They try to make Bible prophecy conform to the latest pagan theory but one originates from God and the other originates from Satan. You cannot get understanding of what God said about the future by mixing truth and lies.
Again, where is the dividing line? Regular readers know that I often struggle with maintaining "spiritual balance" in these parts in the sense that I want to apply the commands given to us in Ephesians 5:11 and Matthew 10:16 (because accepting that Satan and his loyal minions have their own agenda in this spiritual war is important in alerting the spiritually comatose that a war for their very soul is being waged at this very moment), but I also want to make sure I don't go too far and cross that line into the realm that Koenig writes about in his piece (it's one thing to expose things in an effort to warn people, but quite another to make any conclusions with 100% certainty).
For the most part, I think (I hope and pray) that I've been careful to always remind people that a lot of the things written about here on LUF are speculation and educated guesses at best using what seems to me to be "evidence" with spiritual implications.
Later on, Koenig writes:
So I think that those that tell me about some Satanic plan to establish a Satanic New World Order really miss the whole point. What else is new under the sun? God is still in control of the earth and Satan can do nothing that God does not allow. Satan has been trying to discourage and defeat the Sons of light and bring in his own kingdom for six millenniums but only in God’s timing will Satan be given the power to bring his counterfeit kingdom on earth. Even then, it is only granted for a very short period in order to deceive those on earth that rejected the love of the truth (2Thessalonians 2 7-12).
See, that's where he and I reach a crossroads. Yes, of course, Satan and those loyal to him can do absolutely nothing unless God allows them too. I think everyone here gets that. Yet, is it really so wrong to point out our common enemy's evil schemes wherever and whenever we seem to find them? I don't think so because you never know when the Holy Spirit may lead that one non-believer to a post like that -- often times the lost person will think it's by accident that they've stumbled upon a site like this one -- and that's maybe the first time their eyes and ears are opened to the truth about what's really going on in the world.
In other words, I think that exposing Satan's plans to establish a New World Order in our lifetime does not "really miss the whole point", but instead is the whole point of a blog like this one that seeks to sound the alarm. I could be wrong about that, but it's just what I think about it at the moment.
I know that Koenig had a specific audience in mind when he wrote that column, but I still found several important reminders of the truth that I think all of us can benefit from especially those of us who seek to serve God with blogs or anything else that we create for Him online.
In any event, I thought Mr. Koenig wrote an exceptional piece on the importance of maintaining a solid foundation in the Word of God.
I pray that as the Lord does what He will do concerning me and my time spent here at LUF that I will be able to hear His voice always and never cross that line, or lead people astray.

JRed: After being an avid reader of your blog for many months now, I have come to realize that by the comments posted, that most of the people who read your blog understand what you are doing and "where you are coming from". You have an uncanny discernment of scripture and how to relate what is going on in the world today to prophecy. You must be doing it right since the attacks against you have increased and some have become almost vicious. I suspect that Satan would like to interfere with the intent of your writing. Please, please know that many of us are in prayer for you and your family. I thank God for what you are doing on LUF as we watch you grow and mature in your relationship with Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!

Thumbs up to BOTH of the view points. 1) Solid foundation in the word of God and 2) Not being afraid to look at Satan's plan and understand it and then write about it.
My view point is this. That ironically there is quite a bit of truth in what Satan tells the world. That is the big problem. He tells truth to those who are seeking it and at the very last minute he twists and perverts that truth so that you will fall for the illusion. Just like a good magician, it is what you don't see that makes the illusion and what you do see that makes it believable.
Many wonder why God "allows" Satan to perform deeds and why God allows suffering. One only needs to read the book of Job to be very confused about why God allows these things. From a personal perspective, I know that many people come to God at the most volatile and pivotal points in their life of Sin. It is through this process that we come to learn how to know God's love AND in the process we often bring others to God as well. Job didn't save just himself, he brought his friends to God. Jesus didn't just save a small handful of Apostles, he is saving millions upon millions.
To bring it full circle, I think it important to know and understand Satan's motivations, so that we know how to apply God's word in out lives. Know our vulnerabilities, because that is where Satan's minions will attack us.

I agree whole-heartedly with what you have stated here. I have been a Christian for about 40 years. I grew up in probably the most wonderful of circumstances: my father is a pastor of a fundamental, Bible-believing Baptist church, he started a Christian school from which I graduated, I went to and graduated from a well-known, Bible believing, conservative, Christian university with a BS in education, my parents, both, have been so consistent to their faith in Jesus Christ and to the Word of Truth which is the Bible that I continue to be amazed.
However, through the definite, unquestionable leading of the Holy Spirit, my eyes have been openned to Satan's deceitfulness in this world which began with seeing who our leaders have been worshipping, even in our own govenment (he is the god of this world - 2 Corinthians 4:4). What I have researched, including many of the things that you have brought to light, has brought me (I would dare say "driven" me) even harder into the Word of God.
He IS on the throne. He IS my King. Jesus Christ IS my Savior. And God's Word (the BIBLE) tells us to turn the unsaved from darkness to light (Acts 26:18), that men love darkness rather than light (John 3:19), and that Jesus IS the Light of this world so that those who follow Him will not walk in darkness (John 8:12). Illumination (the shedding of light) of evil deeds is a reproof of those deeds (John 3:20), and we are to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but we ARE to reprove them (Ephesians 5:11).
You, my Christian brother, have been a tremendous source of illumination on the evil works of darkness. You have followed the TRUTH of Ephesians 6:12. We as Christians are in a real battle that, to often I fear, we have thought of in the terms of the cartoon drawing of a soldier when we learned of that verse (and the others in Ephesians 6:13-17 that talk about the armor of God) in Sunday School classes. Our foe is real. He hates us! He would rather that we were dead! Keep illuminating! Keep fighting!
As a further encouragement to you: I mentioned 2 Corinthians 4:4 earlier - "god of this world" = Satan. I love the fact that 1 John 4:4 is the answer: GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN YOU, THAN HE THAT IS IN THE WORLD!

My husband collects coins. He just received in the mail a coin that he had purchased on Ebay.
One side reads:

I looked it up. There is a whole site for it which I haven't read entirely yet, but just to see a coin like this, real or not, was shocking.
Apparently it is some sort of test or project or promotion "focused particularily on the active involvement of young people, especially from schools" It goes on to say that "Indeed, young people represent the strongest, most concrete vehicle for spreading this initiative".

You know the more disturbing thing than your willingness to contemplate Satan's evil schemes and how they apply to us is the fact that there are so many Christians out there who literally do not believe there are such things as demons, fallen angels and Satan. How on Earth can you protect yourself from that which you do not believe in? If Jesus said Satan and demons are real, that is good enough for me. They are REAL!!

John, I hear pride in your tone. I appreciate your desire to call it like you see it. I agree that some of the rabbit holes are distracting. But also know this, we ALL have our own stumbling blocks. I think words of encouragement works better than chastising.
Think on this one. If Simon Peter denied Christ 3 times, what chance could we ever possibly have when Satan gives us a choice, deny Christ or die by the (sword, famine, insert earthly calamity here)?
The point is it will be tough tough tough, to choose Jesus, even if it means the death of you.
Matthew 16:25:
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
I listen to Christians who don't even believe this statement, but the decision will be forced upon them regardless and THEN they will understand. I think the GREATER calamity then chasing rabbit holes is the belief that there will be a pre-tribulation rapture. This belief will leave millions of Christians spiritually unequipped to deal with what is to come.

I apologize for my comment about the world coin being so out of context with your very important post. I was just so shocked to see that coin, that I posted the comment without really thinking about the context of your post. Very sorry.
I am continually grateful for Look Up Fellowship and for all you and the Lord are doing here. The straight and narrow path through this world seems to be very closely bordered with slippery slopes. It is enormously helpful to me to feel included in a fellowship of Christians all trying to help each other along this path, with Christ, our light leading the way. Satan is so eager to make us fall or to lose our way. It helps in this confusing world of political correctness and tolerance, for you and others here to be pointing out the dangers and the deceptions to watch our for. To me, it is similar to what a parent does for the children they love so dearly -- be careful, the fire looks so pretty, but it will burn you -- it is fun to play in the street, but the cars will come and hit you -- these drugs your friends say are good, will eventually kill you -- and, don't be afraid of the dark, Jesus is with us.

Yes sometime I think that maybe you take a chance and go out on a limb to say this might happen or that may happen but that's okay. When you do it make me "look up" which is part of what God asks us to do in the bible. He tells us to be ready and looking for him to return. Your blog and insight helps me and my family to do that. People around me are in that mode of looking up. Thanks for all you do keep up the great work! I especially pray when I know something evil may be about to take place. I pray that God's will be done ultimately and then I look at my children and think of the future before them and ask him to thwart evil. Put a stop to it. It's hard to know what to do but we can always pray.

What church (denomination) do you attend? Also, I thought I might share some scripture with you.
2 Timothy 2:14-15 Keep reminding them of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
That is presenting yourself to God, not others. It does no good to attempt to correct how others interpret the Word of God. As Paul once said:
"Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters. One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him. Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind... You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat." (Romans 14:1-5, 10)
Tame the tongue the Lord gave you with love and peace. Paul was all about being humble and gentle because this is how God expects us to be with each other.
Each of us is awaiting for the same Lord Jesus, but not everyone waits in the same way. There is nothing wrong with second guessing what Satan is doing and nothing un-Godly or unbiblical about what Jred and the other are doing here. If you think so, perhaps you should shake the sand from your sandals.

I have adressed this before but here it is again.
I do not belong to any church. I was baptized catholic but relized at avery young age the catholic church had nothing to do with GOD!
it is about money and control which are things of this world.
my denomination is INDEPENDENT REMNANT CHRISTIAN I studied and learned alot on my own. then god lead me to arnold murry on sheperds chapel, he is a great bible teacher. but I found a problem with his teaching that I could not rectify in GODS WORD.
at that time GOD lead me to james lloyd and I agree with almost everything I have read or seen by him, but there is one thing we do not agree on and that is the existance of the evil seed and the off spring of that seed.
the bible is quite clear about that. and I will not change my belief unless someone can show me definative proof in the bible!!!
I have had several things happen to me throught my life, that have proved to me without a doubt that GOD exists and is in total control of all things!!!
I was BLESSED by GOD in ways that I can not explane, but discernmant is one of them!!! I have never told anyone to believe me, I have always said chek it out in GODS WORD! I am nothing without GODS GRACE, I claim non of the credit for the things I teach. JESUS leads me to truths all the time, and when I see it, I recognize it and thank GOD with all my heart and soul!!! some times it is scary because I don't know why I am being shown these things? but I am ,so I do what any GOOD CHRISTIAN wood do. I show it to others in the hope that I am pleasing GOD!!! it must be what GOD wants because it hasen't stopped, it has increased!

he explanes how in the original manuscpripts the word used to get red sea, was miss translated and is realy reed sea! and then goes on to show where the reed sea was!!! it looks alot like this new film .
I suggest strongly that you see it, there are other things in it that you will see no where else.

On Christian Media Network site James Lloyd says "over the last decade or so, I have learned of many, many Christian ministries and individuals that are not only misbehaving on moral and ethical front, but we are constantly barraged with what can only be called False Doctrine.
Well, according to public court documents, he has also been unmoral as well as un-Christian. However, I do not see where he admits his past sins and in my eyes is an unrepentant sinner.
I personally don't care WHAT his sins are, just the fact that he knows that those sins are apart of his own complaints of others and yet he does not address them is wrong. These are facts drawn out in audio transcripts from a lawsuit.
What is also well known about Mr. Lloyd is his inability to come through as a true prophet. Many of his predictions were wrong. After staking his claims, he made a lot of money off of those who believed his false claims. He also claims to have certain end time information, but will only reveal it in a book he wants to sell.
For someone who claims he is an, "...individual with the gift of prophecy, I truly believe the Lord has showed me many things concerning the "hows" and "whys" of the end of the age..." he hasn't done a very good job. In fact, because of his earlier claims, this in my view makes him a liar. Many predictions he has made went flat and like others like him, he makes excuses and then make new dates.
I have reviewed his site, his teachings and what he claims and compared it to evidence (including legal) from other sources and what rings true is that James Lloyd and the Christian Media Network more about making money and teaching false doctrine than about leading others to Salvation through Jesus Christ.
As for signing my name, will that make what I say acceptable to you? No. You are just like Mr. Lloyd. Blind and angry and perhaps possessed. Like Nick said, "...perhaps you should shake the sand from your sandals" and not return.

I never anywhere said that james lloyd was a prophet! what I said is he was a great prophecy teacher,
and I always check out what he teaches on my own in GOD's WORD!

John - I'm only going to say this once, so try to understand. When I say I reviewed his teaching, that means I compared it to the Bible and how "I" interpret it. I am well verse with many versions including the texts the KJV was adapted from. Under whose authority do you approve God's Word? Yours, mans or God's?
Where did all the Jesus believing people go between the time Jesus was resurrected and when the bible became available to the common man after 1500's. That was over 1500 years mankind had nothing except the acceptance of Jesus as their Savior to rest on.
I know you well enough to know God has not supernaturally or spiritually bestowed you with the power of interpretation so you are only going on what you perceive to be the truth and how "you" interpret the bible. If God himself were telling you these things, then why do you not act as a man of God? You're not humble, your not very kind, you belittle others and call names amongst other things. You are nothing Paul speaks of. Was Paul lying to us?
Based on whether or not you accept a man solely based on his knowledge of bible prophecy is your business (even Satan knows prophecy and the bible), however when a man tells me lies or speaks with double-speak I keep that man at a safe distance from me.
As JRed has said, it matters not as long as you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. We will see each other in heaven and both be surprised at how little we truly understood.
John, the proof is there. You don't have to believe it, that's entirely up to you.
A man who gets drunk and tries to rape a woman should not then declare himself to be a prophet a couple of months later.
A man who admits in court that he has been using drugs over the course of 10 years while "prophesying," should repent. He doesn't.
He likes to try and hold others to a standard he can't reach. That makes him a hypocrite and a deceiver. It also makes his defenders deceivers also.
