I'm in total agreement with you on this, JRed. In all, I think if someone comes in with hate or ill will statements, once they have be addressed in the humble and gentle way that Jesus demonstrated with Scripture pertaining to their behavior they should be ignored, but not tossed out. It is better they come and read and learn. As you say, perhaps the Holy Spirit has led them here for a reason.

For those who cringe when this type of person posts, perhaps it is better to ignore the post and let those led to do so, address it with humility and love.

I agree whole heartedly that what will save us will be our faith and not what we believe in, pre, mid or post. Most definitely.

It is my contention, as a mid tribber, that our faith will be extremely tested. It will not be faith for the faint of heart or lukewarm Christians. That is my whole point.

If you got the faith and you are a pre-tribber, then no biggie. You got the faith to "endure patiently."

Jesus spoke the truth to the apostles and said its gonna be rough guys. I am paraphrasing here :-) How do you think the apostles would take it if Jesus told him, its gonna be a cake walk and then they were subject to this?:

YIKES!! Enduring such things would require A LOT of faith. So my point is, are we cut from the same cloth? Would you have faith to the end or would you deny Christ? I have a hard time answering this myself, but I pray everyday my faith would be strong enough.

This poor mentally handicapped woman was tortured and killed by six young, very disturbed people. She was as innocent as they come. Why wasn't she raptured or delivered from this awful experience? Why does God allow suffering?

Did God abandon her? I don't think so. It may appear so, but God knows our physical selves are a small portion of what is truly important... our souls.

If God allows a poor, disabled girl to endure this, why are we any better? Because we are Christians? Was this girl's family Christian?

Salvation is not saving our bodies, but our soul. It is time to stop thinking about our physical survival/comfort and to start thinking about spiritual salvation.

If you think heated disagreements amongst brethren is unchristian and hateful you better read the book of Acts a little closer.

Well, i've studied the rapture (/end times prophecy) very thorough for 17 years now, and still cannot tell you for sure whether we'll have a pre- mid- or post-trib rapture (/raising of the dead, changing of our bodies).

It's exactly because of christians like you, who are so convinced that THEY have the only sound Biblical doctrine, that there is so much 'tearing down' of eachother, like jeff writes. I have my own website with often hundreds of comments on each article, and it's really terrible and sad how many christians handle eachother; often worse than non-believers do.

I'm sorry, but after years of experience i can only conclude that arrogant christians like you, who are so convinced of THEIR version of the 'truth', hurt the cause of Christ more than satan himself could ever do. I agree wholeheartedly with your position to allow freedom of expression. We can pray for those who are disagreeable and offensive since prayer will change them to be more Christ-like.

Add my voice in support! The thread of continuity is FAITH in the Lord Jesus. Accepting Him and His Word and Works and His promise that those with Faith shall not lose. No one can tell when or where or how the wisdom of the Lord will come through. And you are right that only by sharing can there be a chance of learning and having eyes become open and hears better to hear. The Lord knows HUMAN nature. That is why He refers to us as sheep in metaphors, and He our shepherd. Now I personally take some offense at that, yet, I cannot say with any conviction that I am not. I know how easily it is to be 'swayed' by an argument and get lost for a while. And, in the end, all I can say, is that having Faith is the ONLY aspect that keeps me strong and helps me feel assured that He will keep His Word. I have to keep up the effort to live by His Word and accept His guidance. Even when the understanding is not clear at first, it will come.

I think we may need to become pantrib (it will all pan out) because if you love the LORD JESUS and you are striving to walk with HIM, your understanding or lack thereof will not make a difference if you are raptured or not. I am pretty sure that what John is trying to say is that IF the rapture doctrine is incorrect and those who have believed the rapture would happen and it does not, he is concened that that person may lose their faith in JESUS and he doesn't want to see that for anyone. On the other hand my position is: if I don't believe in the rapture, but I am a Christian, GOD is not going to leave me here if there is a rapture. There are many things that believers do not understand about the Scriptures: does this effect their salvation? No. The thief on the cross, went to heaven with JESUS, without having studied the Scriptures or even being baptized. For those of us who have been walking with the LORD for a while, it is good to be watching and waiting and looking: you know it could be that HE wants you aware because your time is up (not just the worlds time).
I think on this particular forum it is difficult to share or have an effective argumentation. And because of that I think we should choose the greater thing to do and that would be to love each other and be at peace. The HOLY SPIRIT will show each person what they need to know, when they need to know it. No I am not a fence rider I am a peace maker. Sorry if I offended anyone with my comments. I don't think opposing rapture doctrines are what's causing the strife. It's the few (please know I'm not speaking of you here) who are always trying to ram their rapture doctrine down the throats of others by either trying to initiate contentious debate, or belittling the viewpoints of others. church: 1577 in the concordance. means ekklesia (in Greek): a calling out, assembly, church.

All of the verses in the new testament pertaining to the word church use 1577 as its definition except one verse: Acts 19:37. 2417 in the Greek: hierosulos from 2411: a temple despoiler-robber of churches. 2411: the temple.

With 1577 we are talking about a group of people. Whereas with 2411 we are talking of an actual place.

If we go with the Catholic view point of Peter, than the church is an actual 'place'. All protestant churches are Catholic lite. (Think about how all churches have a liturgy, one man who is preaching/teaching, a format and the law--you have to be here every Sunday to be a good Christian.)

My guess is that your jaded attitude towards people makes it very VERY difficult for you to forgive those who have wronged you. You maybe even withholding forgiveness this very minute for something that has happened to you in the past.

You should have said "it is clear to me that you and the other at this site have no idea what LOVE is."

And this statement is not true at all, so there goes your discernment, right out the window. Learn to use proper sentence structure to avoid this in the future. I would think a man of God would not make such mistakes so, I still stand by my statement that you do not speak for anyone, but yourself. You come in here sounding like a clanging cymbal and no one can hear a word you are saying.

As for discernment, I have enough to know you are an extremist to the nth degree thinking all these man-made conditions can come between God and man. NOTHING can come between God and man, NOTHING! Is God so weak that He cannot reach someone because they drink city water, or use cell phones? This is what makes you so far out of touch with who God is. Man has been poisoning himself with his inventions from the beginning, but it will never keep him from confessing Jesus if he chooses to do so.

Jesus said, believe on me and be saved. (John 3:15,John 3:16, John 3:18, John 3:36 and more) Paul said, "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9) Jesus did not add to that requirement. He never said you must believe on me and do this and do that and have those and not have these. No where in scripture are there any other requirements to have eternal life with the Father except to believe on Jesus.

There is nothing else to understand, but what I just told you. It does not matter if someone thinks or doesn't think there will be a rapture; their belief still rests on their acceptance and belief of Jesus.

Do you really think your knowledge of the bible is what is saving you? Where would you be if you had no bible? God says He puts the knowledge of his existence and who He is in every persons heart. Is God a liar?

Do you think that 14 years of studying scripture somehow makes you the expert? Who died and made you Jesus? Did God come to you like He did Moses? Paul? I've asked you before, under who's authority to you come here slinging you bible knowledge? You've not answered that.

I feel bad for you and can only pray your heart is in the right place, but with this last statement of yours I can only say the best thing to do with you is to ignore you.
