You know, given my latest projects that the Lord has called me to commit to, I'm always excited to draw attention to anyone or any group that is also looking to bring glory and honor to Him and only Him.
Religious education/faith formation -- "spreading the Word of God" -- is a critical part of the mission of the church. Another term for it is "evangelism", which we're all quite familiar with. As faithful followers of Jesus Christ, we are all called to share our faith and experience of God’s love with those around us. We begin with our families and reach out from there to our friends, fellow believers, and society in general.
Today, I learned about one such organization that has been doing just that for several decades now. However, to my surprise, the closer I looked, the more I became concerned by what I had found.
At this point, I want to make it very clear before going any further that this is not going to be a post about "bashing" Catholics because they're Catholic. It is a post about bashing anyone who's taking part in the apostasy here in America -- a cancer that is non-denominational.
No, I'm not a practicing Catholic myself. Then again, my religious affiliation has been a non-issue for years since I started to refer to myself as a "Christian" instead of a "Protestant" or "Lutheran". If you're here today, then I assume that you are open-minded enough to be ok with the idea of a non-Catholic talking about Catholic beliefs, practices, and rituals. If not, you might want to move on.
Are you familiar with the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress? The Los Angeles Religious Education Congress (RECongress), which began as an "institute", is a three day event held by the Catholic Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles, CA. Founded in 1968, it is the largest annual gathering of Catholics in the United States with roughly 40,000 people attending. The focus of the Congress is for those in attendance to learn more about the Catholic faith as well as seeking personal growth. It is open to all people of different faiths.
Beginning in 1962, the Diocese of Los Angeles has had regular formal gatherings to provide on-going education and support for catechists and others involved in ministry within the parish communities. By 1970, the location of the gathering, now called the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) Congress, was moved to the Anaheim Convention Center. "Congress" has taken place there annually since that time. The first youth rally occurred in 1971. "Youth Day" today draws approximately 20,000 teens from across the United States for a day of prayer, workshops, music and fellowship.
The name of the gathering changed in 1973 to its current "Religious Education Congress" moniker. Most people just call it "Congress" these days. Congress is the largest gathering of Catholics in the United States, drawing participants from all over the country and visitors from around the world. It’s a three day extravaganza, with liturgies, workshops, musical programs, reconciliation opportunities, prayer and meditation spaces, and exhibitor booths where nationally recognized vendors present their resources for use in teaching, liturgy and personal growth.
Some who have attended in the past have said that entering the Exhibition Hall is like going to the County Fair, which is fitting I suppose since it's across the street from Disneyland. Aside from all exhibits, which are focused on resources for liturgy, faith development, and personal spiritual growth, there are also workshop presenters, authors, musicians and artists there as well who are ready and waiting to meet all who come by their booths.
Well, I guess they just wrapped up their annual convention last weekend. Did anyone happen to attend? Did anyone see footage of the closing ceremonies at the event? Have a look:
Closing Liturgy 1/12
Obviously, I wasn't in attendance and I admit that I've never been to one. However, after watching the above video, is it really such a stretch to claim that such an event at a gathering like that is "apostate Hell" because I definitely saw quite a bit in that 10-minute clip to make me sick. How about you?
Yes, one of the gifts we are to pray for, after all, is discernment, and I write that because I'm sure that not everything offered there was "heresy" and "apostasy" as some claim. Yet, again, there was enough on display. Satan knows that even a meal that is tainted with 1% poison is enough to make the other 99% irrelevant because that 1% is more than enough to kill you.
As one commenter wrote on another blog, "No wonder kids run from the Church as fast as they can, no wonder Catholics lose their faith and no longer practice it. No wonder we have what passes for Catholics in government who vote to pay for abortions."
Another followed up with, "Leave it to LA to convert Mass to a Hollywood production. At first I could believe that the Catholic church actually willing participated in this "production". No wonder we have so many confused Catholics out there. Seeing this, they will think this kind of things are alright."
Amen! Well said on both fronts. But the criticism wasn't just coming from random blog readers from any number of religious persuasions. No, in fact, here's a comment from Father Erik Richsteig: "There are two main problems with the convention. First, repeated inclusion of major dissenters from magisterial teaching among the speakers. Second, horrific liturgies that repeatedly violate liturgical norms (and principles of good taste)."
Fortunately, there are other watchmen on the wall who are calling attention to this sort of heresy. Acts of the Apostasy called it a "Litorgy" and had this to say: "Litory: A grotesque mockery of the liturgy. This is what apostasy looks like: the closing pagan ritual at the Religious Education Congress held in Los Angeles earlier this month. It ain't pretty, folks!".
I also find it ironic that this year's event was called "Incredible Abundance" and that it was held by the "Congress" on the very same weekend at the same time as the historic vote to pass President Obama's Health Care Bill, or a political kind of "incredible abundance" to those who helped pass the legislation. In fact, the three day event wrapped up on Sunday, March 21, 2010 -- the same day that the votes were tallied to make "Obamacare" a reality. I mean, just think about the other odd similarities too. The study in contrast between this particular group of people and their "main event" with their political counterparts in Washington DC who had their own "main event" is stunning.
Is it unfair for me to criticize the RECongress based on the event itself and what I view to be apostasy in plain sight? What about linking them to politicians in Washington DC? Is that going too far too? Ok, then please allow me to give my opinion approaching things from another angle.
Every single news item I could find about this event mentioned how this is not only an annual meeting, but it's always the largest gathering of Catholics held each year drawing roughly 40,000 faithful.
Here's a quick question: Does anyone else find it morally reprehensible that tens of thousands of Catholics met in one place during the EXACT time that this nation's leaders were preparing to pass the most infamous form of anti-Christian legislation this country has ever seen, and they did NOTHING to try and combat what was coming?
As I wrote earlier, this is not a post about "bashing" Catholics. They just happened to be the catalyst that served as the starting point for today's commentary. It is a post about bashing anyone who's taking part in the apostasy here in America. Trust me, I've been invited to religious ceremonies in the past of the Methodist, Wesleyan, and Unitarian kind that were equally disturbing.
Unfortunately, the apathetic state of Catholicism and their moral ambivalence on the eve of the most aggressive pro-abortion legislation in awhile (especially when they generally give excessive lip service to that issue) is dumbfounding. What do they say? That silence is deafening? It sure is. I just never imagined it would be this quiet.
Again, I'm not trying to single out Catholics on this issue. I'm really not! It's just that in this day and age it would've been nice to see the one group that is typically the most vocal when it comes to the abortion debate, stand up and demand to be heard (be the salt and light of the earth), when they joined together for their biggest meeting of the year, on the eve of the most pro-abortion agenda to come down the river in years.
Could you imagine the impact that group of 40,000 faithful would've have on other Catholics around the world if it had been decided en masse to commit to three full days of prayer for this nation and its leaders? Can you imagine the type of spiritual fire that could've been lit on Christians everywhere when word got out and the press was forced to cover the story? Who cares that they had invested so much time and money planning that event for months on end? Why not put your principles before the Almighty Dollar and worldly recognition and success for once?
we must call on Christianity -- Catholics, Baptists, Methodists, Presbytarians, Protestants, Lutherans -- to severely criticize (publicly if necessary) any religious leader and/or religious politician who supports such morally outrageous sins such as abortion, partial-birth abortion, euthanasia, human cloning, and same-sex marriage amongst other sinful behavior. If there is ignorance, we must lovingly and patiently instruct the ignorant. If there is obstinacy, we must motivate them to take action by using the Word of God to show them why it’s expected of them and vital to this nation.
Folks, this is a spiritual epidemic that has become the norm as people look for something to tickle their ears and satisfy their senses, rather than relying on the gravity of the Gospel and the weight of the Word to fill them up.
Let's remember the narrow gate:
Matthew 7:13-14 (KJV) Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
The irony of the Health Care debate is that so many people put their faith in doctors, the medical community, and the Health Care Industry more so than in our Heavenly Father let alone Jesus Christ the Great Healer Himself!
Speaking of "incredible abundance" I think those who organized this year's event as well as those who attended (gosh, every Christian for that matter!) should take to heart the words of Jesus when he said, "I came that they may have life and have it abundantly" (John 10:10). Embracing this incredible abundance, we need to trust that it is never too late for God to invigorate and revitalize a person, a church, a world.
Therefore, I'm left wondering why those 40,000 strong who met in California that weekend couldn't make the decision to cancel the "Cathopalooza" and send all its money-changers in the Temple packing. No, it wasn't a church where they held this meeting, I understand that. But it could've easily been mistaken for such.
Personally, if I were the one organizing this event I would've taken a bold and courageous stand and requested that all those in attendance consider joining me in a three-day long prayer vigil for this nation, and for God to prevent the passage of the Health Care Bill, as opposed to a three-day marketplace extravaganza.
It just dawned on me that even though the allegations and charges of corruption and sin within the Vatican have always been there, perhaps the sudden surge in the media’s intense scrutiny on the Vatican’s scandals is a direct response to the Catholic Church’s inability to be the salt and light of the earth when they were given a prime opportunity to do so. Food for thought.
Lord, I pray that You use this as a reminder and as a warning to us, and to me especially as I embark upon three new ministries for You, to never fall victim to Satan's trap by becoming heretical because we somehow think it would be a "good idea" and "ok" to "water down" and make "more palatable" Your Word and Gospel message, in an attempt to reach more people, in a manner that we think is more conducive to contemporary communication. While the vehicle used to deliver Your message to the world may change from time to time, the Gospel message itself should never change no matter what! Amen.

Sorry about that! It has been added now.
Jeff (JRed)
Like I've mentioned before, I was a practicing catholic before I came into a personal relationship with JESUS.
I went to an all girls catholic high school and suffice it to say all they cranked out were ultra feminist, pro-birth control, pro-democrats who all voted for obama.
90% of the girls I've looked up on FB, have all stated they were supporting the president.
Even members in my own family who profess Christ, but are catholic still voted for him. These are really intelligent people mind you and yet they've been duped!
This is why it is so important to understand the MASSIVE difference between religion and relationship.
Many folk who claim to be religious are religious for their own benefit whether it be for mental health reasons or simply passing on the traditions of their family. One's religion doesn't necessarily impact every area of their lives. It really is no different than saying, "what sign are you"? So whether you're a Cancer or Capricorn, its all the same and you can still 'do as you will'.
Of course, I could say the same thing about Protestants. There really is no difference. They are all mini catholics anyways.
What I have found to be true is that their are believers everywhere: in the RCC, in the Protestant circles and home fellowships. My own father understood what it meant to have a personal relationship with JESUS, and yet continued to go the RCC. He also knew that I loved JESUS. Well, I didn't talk about the RCC with him, I only talked about the Scriptures and Christs crucifition. Towards the end of his life, he did seem to start to grasp the depth of the Scriptures as they had started to have a Bible study at his church. I also know a dear lady who has lived the gospel through her life. Not only does she confess JESUS as LORD, she understands the gravity of where we are in the world today and that the LORD's return is soon.
Yes, the RCC teaching is deeply ingrained in her, but I can see that it is the LORD she is trusting in.
There is a lot of error out there. You could have an independant, fundamentalist baptist woman, who only wears skirts and head coverings, but is a wench to the core and more lost than the day is long! She is no more worse off than a catholic.
I think it is imperitive that we ask the HOLY SPIRIT for guidance in all things and to be very careful about outward appearances when conducting ourselves with people. The RCC and Protestant churches are not bigger than our LORD. HE is able to conquer all error and HIS mercy is greater than our tolerance for others misunderstandings. One thing I have learned is that I cannot be the HOLY SPIRIT and convict people of anything. I can give information and pray for them and more importantly live out what the LORD is commanding me to do. Amen?
Peace,
Deirdre

another great post, man you are nailing it lately! the holy spirit is with you brother!!!
I was baptised catholic, and at the age 6or7 when you make your first communion, realized this was the biggist scam reliegion on the face of the earth. it has nothing to do with GOD and everything to do with money, power and controll.
anyway also remember the word of GOD teaches that judgement bigins at the pulpit and the false teachers will be judged first.
just look at how the catholic church is disintegrating, and becoming of none effect!!!
GOD lift up your children, and call out the faithfull from amongst the harlots of babylon!!! if it is in your will!!!!!!! amen
john
I must have discernment because as a catholic, I see so much that turns my stomach. On the altar of our church, they have a statue of Mary with a crown on. Only one of many. I only go because of my husband. When he's gone, I'm out of there!!
Ok. I watched the video. Though 'slightly' different, it looked like the charismatic church to me! Repeticious singing, very uplifting and joyful! woohoo!
I didn't feel any more sad for them than I have being in a charismatic church or baptist church.
The biggest thing missing from all these 'churches' is REPENTANCE. There is no labor in working out your salvation with fear and trembling. It's all just 'how much can we just praise the LORD'.
And not to mention a very important factor: Do all of those thousands of people really know each other? (Same goes for any big baptist church). I read somewhere that in some villages in Africa before someone can become a member of a Christian fellowship, said member is watched for months before they are allowed to be in the meeting.
There might be a few people in that video celebration that truly love and know the LORD. And sadly there are many people who really believe that what they are doing is honoring of the LORD. They are sincerely mistaken. The reality is that there are many pagans and satanists there too.
(Since I came out of the institutional church altogether, I have grown in many ways. Coming out and taking a step back and taking a huge look has really been eye opening. Believers are gettig caught up in 'church' life in such a way that is keeping them from being trained by the HOLY SPIRIT. Hebrews 8:11 "No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD', because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest." )
I am not saying there are no good teachings or teachers out there, but there is none that is better than the pure Word of GOD.
Peace,
Dee
Deirdre,
Excellent comments for sure. As you stated, this is something that's infecting the entire Body of Christ these days and not just the Catholic church. Thannks for reiterating that point for us because it's an important one.
Dee,
Yes! Isn't that the truth? If I didn't tell you it was a Catholic ceremony you might be inclined to guess any number of denominations as the culprit. And your point about the critical importance of repentance is key -- all style, no substance these days.
Saved By Grace Through Faith,
Jeff (JRed)
Jeff!!
Ha! I must be transparent about my posts. (Deirdre and Dee are one in the same!) I usually sign my nickname, but must have been in overtype mode! (-:
I just didn't want you going loopy!LOL
..perhaps this meeting was the spiritual backup to PASS that bill.
the main colour is blue. The place is Anaheim (home of Anu). The object of fokus is a benben (like in the basement of UNbuilding). The
'gospelbook' on top represents the Bill; etc
..and (found on that site you gave) combined with a range of topics as 'birthing
the deeper self' and 'jesuit guide to life' (what an oxymoron) the spiritual energy of 40.000 people sure could ve helped..
but than again,
maybe Im too suspicious..
Good find,
Lone
oh,wait! something fell into me-
this anaheim,'ana' is of the same root as Tutu d'ana, People of Anu, so, 'atlantean' ; a part of the tribe
( the offspring, 7-8 ft giants) who moved to Denmark
..D'ane mark
..hence the importance of the statues you found there..
Yes Id say, you re very much onto something
Lone
Read Dave Hunt's book entitled "A Woman Rides the Beast." He really does an in depth examination of the history of the Catholic Church, as well as relating it to Revelation. It is an eye opener.
Deirdre/Dee, thanks for the clarification (that's too funny!).
Lone, FANTASTIC research and insight as always. Thank you so much for sharing that. Man, that's certainly something to think about, isn't it?
Anonymous, I will be sure to seek out that book. Thank you.
God Bless You All,
Jeff (JRed)
:) stop making feel uncomfortable; it is yóu who kickstart these things always, lol
But its huge -
and I think You hit a nerve, as
'others' read your site as well;
man what a hellish day today
about this atlantean/blue blood line: the new embassy in London isnt just a crystal mocking of New Jerusalem - the games in 2012 they are spelled 'zion' as well
and back again to cop15: wasnt the logo the atlantean grid?
If the frequencies change, like now, because of the galactic, it will affect everything crystalline - mans spectrum of perception also, and maybe that is why they become visible
(remember, demons are in a higher frequencyrange as us; so probably thats why they need to disguise as ET's )
Im not sure which countries are HQ, but england, denmark sure are, and probably M.Germany too. The 'royal bloodline' ,blue blood, was because of the amount of copper in the blood, and royal because off the (atlantean)offspring. Nimrod was the first; several ceasars were giants, as well as Charlemagne, up till 8 ft.
also Transsylvania/Ukraine is; the blood-theme derives from the original giants (the big ones, before the Flood) who ate humans; hence the (true) assumption of leading bloodlines. They dont have the stature no more, but háve the same character.
(how actual is the Lords Word 'war between your seed and his'..He is back to Genesis; establishing His Eden again..'NOW has come the Kingdom', Rev.)
Considering this, it is amazing to read again, where old Israel - our (!) ancestors, were up against..
In that time, satan used his mere fisical power to destroy the Lords People - since than, he changed the tactic to Deception.
but in either case, it is vital for us to stay close to the Lord.
amazing times..
Pray for eachother
Lone
I'm speechless. What a video.
Just catching up on some of your older posts and wanted to comment on this one. The Catholic leadership in Los Angeles has been liberal and pathetic over the last few decades. But changes are coming soon. For a quick look, check out
