Celebrate The 4th, Celebrate God's Blessings

I'm a little conflicted today.

I saw the phrase...

Seven prayerless days makes one weak.

That was part of an recent article at Running From Babylon and after reading it I was reminded of how true that is.

May we all remember to say a prayer of thanks to the Lord today for protecting and providing for this nation since the beginning.

Sadly, the things that are coming when He removes His hand of protection and allows His judgment to fall upon us in response to our unrepentant sins will make us long for a day like today. That's why we need to repent because judgment is coming.

So, let's enjoy every breath of this life while we still can! In the meantime, I like Steve Coerper's suggestion (thanks Steve!) that we all engage in a little "required reading" too.

God bless you! Have fun! Be safe!

This is so true Jeff! Sometimes it seems like the calm before the storm and none of us knows how long it will last but one thing I do know; if we stay close and fix our eyes upon Jesus, we will have the grace to weather the coming storm. We will be forced to depend upon Him as the children of Israel had to in the desert when they received manna for each day.

I hope everyone is enjoying a good 4th! I am looking on this day with a sadness though. It is as though I see people celebrating, but celebrating they know not what. My heart goes out to those who do not have a clue about what is really happening in the world today. Lion & Lamb's recommended daily Bible reading for today is Proverbs 1-3. So far I only got through chapter 1. I was immediately struck by verses 22-33. Verses 22-32 speaks to those who have not listened to God's Word; but verse 33 is an encouragement to those who are listening. "33-But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil." What a wonderful promise! Maranatha Barbara in VA

Anonymous,

No, no censorship here. Not now, not ever. In fact, I think we've censored only 1 comment in the almost 2 years that LUF has been online.

Sometimes, for whatever reason, comments get lost in cyberspace. Don't ask me how or why, but they do. You should try writing an ENTIRE BLOG ENTRY that you think was saved only to discover it wasn't!

All kidding aside, please try to resubmit. Or, you can also send me an email to lookupluke2127 at yahoo dot com and I will copy and paste it for you here.

In Christ,
Jeff ("JRed")
