Pastor Carl Gallups has been getting a lot of national attention lately for his prophetic insights into the Gulf Crisis, but it's a previous insight of his that I always come back to whenever the subject of "The One" being THE prophesied Man of Sin comes up.

At this point, I'm still leaning towards Obama being a "counterfeit Antichrist". That is to say, I think The-Powers-That-Be want us to think he's the real deal so that when the REAL Antichrist comes onto the scene to defeat/replace him, the world will naturally assume the best about that individual, and Christians will most likely assume that it's the Second Coming of Jesus.
It's interesting to me how this subject of "Who Is The Antichrist?" is one that I'm seeing in several different places lately. A few weeks ago we took a long, hard look at HRH Prince El Hassan Bin Talal as a likely candidate. He's as good a candidate as O is for sure. But I don't think either fits the bill.
I'd be remiss if I didn't also call attention to another Bible Study I just watched (thanks GMR1) from David Asscherick (first time coming across his name too) called "The Unavoidable Identity of the Antichrist", which I'll include here for all of you...

I'll admit that his presentation is even more powerful than any of those presented at the outset of this piece, and certainly more powerful (in my book) than Dr. Joe VanKoevering's on HRH Prince El Hassan Bin Talal, and it even confirms my own sneaking suspicions from the very beginning when I was first saved and first started to look into this heated subject for myself as evidenced HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE.
Doesn't it make the most sense too? Think about all the things God's Word tells us about Satan and his pride. Now, factor in what we know about his insatiable desire to mimic and mock our Heavenly Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Why wouldn't he attempt to come out of the "church" -- the Roman Catholic Church -- like the above documentary proposes?
To me, while each case that could be made for identifying the Antichrist has its strong points, it's those that are focused on the Roman Catholic Church, the Vatican, and the Pope that carry the most weight with me right now. Sure, I could be wrong, but it seems more likely than a US President like President Obama, a member of the British Royalty, or some Muslim leader. Just my two cents.
Who really knows who the Antichrist is (or who will be). Right now, only our Sovereign Lord knows the true identity of the coming Son of Perdition. That's good enough for me.
But that doesn't mean we should stop watching and praying about such things. We're called to expose evil wherever we think we encounter it. That's why it's imperative that we keep having our spiritual eyes opened and on the lookout for the "likely candidates", but are always careful to make it clear that WE CAN ONLY SPECULATE and MAKE EDUCATED GUESSES BASED ON WHAT GOD'S WORD TELLS US, and that our analysis and interpretation is not a "Thus sayeth the Lord..." type of pronouncement.
In the final analysis, there's 3 distinct possibilities here. I led with Obama and I'll end with Obama. Either Obama is the Antichrist, or a "counterfeit Antichrist" (a set-up; a red herring), or just a forerunner who's paving the way for someone else (helping to condition the masses).
I will say that I'm not as "obsessed" with trying to figure out who the Antichrist might be like I was when I was first saved several years ago and first began studying prophecy, but I recognize that this is still an important subject for debate and discussion especially in a forum like this, which is why I decided to write and publish this post.
Why is this subject gaining more widespread focus in recent days? Perhaps it all has to do with the Holy Spirit leading the Body of Christ following this harbinger...

Excellent presentation and videos, Jeff. I will have to create a playlist from this. That 1970s prophecy is quite astonishing and certainly the symbolism now, is pointing towards its fulfillment. Thanks again.

Fair enough. You're not the first, and you won't be the last and I'm inclined to agree with you to an extent.
But does that really have any bearing on this study about the Antichrist, or instantly negate his findings and research?
I think that this is a perfect example of one of Satan's greatest weapons of warfare against the Body of Christ.
Far too often we instantly reject any (possibly) sound teaching because of something we find in a person's life (past or present) that gives us pause. Aren't we all in the same boat though?
We're all going through the process of Sanctification -- at least we should be, right? Doesn't that mean that we're all at different stages of progression too?
Seventh-Day Adventist stuff aside, can't we focus on this specific presentation and topic and discuss the merits because that's what this entry was intended to do. Not start another debate about the Seventh-Day Adventists even if it's warranted.

I don't get this...
The point I was trying to make is how there are millions of "Christians-In-Name-Only" on the planet today.
They are "False Converts" and victims of the prophesied "Apostasy", or "falling away" from the faith.
Because they are merely Christians-In-Name-Only they probably don't read or study God's Word like they should much less give a thought to end times Bible prophecy because they are more concerned with the "Social Gospel" than the "Salvation Gospel".
Well, when the Antichrist comes with all of his "signs and lying wonders" like we're told he will (and in a manner where he'll seek to impersonate Jesus as a form of mockery), it stands to reason that the Christians-In-Name-Only MIGHT have SOME casual idea about the prophecies for the last days. Thus, I'm merely wondering out loud if this "casual understanding" will make them think, "Well I know that Jesus' Second Coming has to do with Him coming back to defeat the Antichrist, remove Him from power, and save the world and the rest of us as He sets up His Kingdom on earth..."
Assuming that's what they'll think, and assuming that Obama is a "False Antichrist" (a red herring who TPTB want us to believe is the "real deal"), then wouldn't they accept the one who comes onto the scene out of nowhere to "save them" from what Obama did to the world? Watch that story in the music video again to see what I mean exactly.
As I've stated throughout this piece, as it applies to the Obama angle this is just MY OPINION and MY SPECULATION, which is moot given what I now believe suggests that the Antichrist will be from Rome/Roman Catholic Church/Vatican/Papacy.

Jred, I agree whole heartedly that Obama being the antiChrist is a purposfully done false impression. I also have a similar happening as you, where before I was born again (which is a recent event for me) I believed with everything in me that Obama was the antiChrist. Researched it, followed the various signs and told others about it. Problem is I was not with the Holy Spirit when I had these so called revelations. Now that I am, my whole view point has changed. I believe he is what the powers that be would call "a useful idiot".
It maybe to obfusicate the real antiChrist when he comes on stage. Another possibility might be to marginlize fearful Christians into proclaiming he is the antiChrist so they can somehow make them look foolish. Or a combination of the two. Satan wants to convert luke warm Christians and silence the rest, by force if he must.
Whatever the reason, it ain't good and we must follow the word to the letter (pun intended) so that we are not fooled. Great discernment on this one Jred!!
not so sure Obama has nothing to do with the end. In Revelation the bible calls pergumum the seat of satan and the temple of zeus is what was there in fact Antipos was killed there, he was roasted inside of the bull there. Later the alter of Zeus was moved to germany i believe. Why did Obama, recieve the democratic nomination for president with the backdrop stage of the alter of zeus? The only other person in history to have done that is Hitler.

Plus they could have put any clown as president, but they went to alot of trouble to put him there even though he is not an american citizen. Why would they risk so much putting him there? They had a picture of Obama next to a statue of Pharoah and it looked identical. Something very strange about him.

You're absolutely right and who could forget all that stunning symbolism? I also think back to the bizarre POSSIBLE connection between Obama and Maitreya (another candidate). I can't dispute any of that.
In fact, I've even gone to great lengths in the past to show Obama's penchant for Denver, CO too -- reportedly the home of the New World Order's future capitol due to the presence of Denver International Airport.
There is a lot to suggest that O is the Antichrist. But is it too much? I mean, his name was CHANGED to "Barack Hussein Obama", which correlates with what the one video in this column points out about Jesus' own words about the Antichrist. That seems contrived to me even though I swallowed it hook, line, and sinker at first.
In the final analysis, it's like I said throughout this piece -- I readily admit that I could be DEAD WRONG and Obama could be the prophesied Man of Sin. That's why we need to keep studying this and having this discussion.
However, I'm personally drawn to the argument/study that implicates Rome/Vatican/Papacy at this point in time though.

Hi Jeff, here is a video I thought you might find interesting. Pay special attention to the part where the Roman Vatican church usus a double cross symbol (and the meaning is) all around the Vatican. For me it was further evidence that the antichrist comes out of Roman church.

Not because it's your opinion or mine but because the Holy Bible says it in Dan.9:26,27.

Daniel 8:25 says of the Antichrist " Through peace he will destroy many". The world looks to the popes as men of peace (James4:4 ...a friend of the world is the enemy of God). Daniel 9:26,27 clearly says the Antichrist will be from the people that destroyed the Temple, which were ROMANS.
The Catholic church is a political machine with a religious veneer. She has overthrown kingdoms and confiscated the booty for 1700 years. She has helped put Hitler in power, killed Bible believers and has always been antisemitic.
She is Satan's bride that will give birth to the Antichrist.
