July 11th: Prophetic Symbolism In Sports (The Beginning Of The Prophesied End Is Near!)

Take comfort my dear brothers and sisters in Christ! We're NOT CRAZY! It's all coming together now, and quicker than we can keep up with.

What I mean to say is that our recent suspicions regarding the World Cup and EVERYTHING associated with it somehow being a harbinger of what's to come upon the world -- mainly due to all the intense prophetic imagery and symbolism -- is sound and dead on; of that I am now certain given something the Holy Spirit reminded me of today after reading the latest analysis from fellow bloggers on this subject.

If you haven't already, please take a moment to read "July 11th: A Sirius Dog Day?". While it's not necessary to following the rest of this post, you might want to follow that up by reading last year's study called "11:11, Elevens, And Prophecy" too because it will help fill in the blanks.

All this talk about "11" lately has me thinking about the Twin Towers (a physical, visual representation of the number 11 here in the real world?) as well as the prophesied coming of the Two Witnesses (11, or 1 and 1?).

In addition, I'm also thinking about how BOTH "King James" and the Adidas Jabulani Ball have dominated the news the past few days. No, that's not a coincidence at all. Trust me.

The world's obsession with sports and those who play them is sickening, but it reached new heights (lows really) this past week. The point I want to make is how the world has clearly replaced a "love for the Lord" with a "love of sports" as it has certainly become an idol to most. That's a problem folks.

Being entertained by it every now and then is one thing, but being swept up in the emotion and passion and allowing sports to affect your entire day based on whether or not "your team" wins a game is ludicrous! It's sinful too.

Even so, we're all starting to notice the obvious prophetic symbolism inherent in sports these days. Yes, in even the most seemingly mundane sports news stories. There are several commentaries worth your time on the subject of the prophetic symbolism inherent in recent sporting events and news like the World Cup. New Wineskins is one, Joseph Herrin's Parablesblog is the other.

Speaking of Herrin, he nails it with this...

"When the church and the world choose the World Cup over the Cup of Christ, the result is that the Cup of Divine Wrath is poured out on the nations."

Sad, but true. More importantly, it's everything the Body of Christ has been feeling is close at hand for many months now. Is this it?

Herrin's most recent study prompted me to recall two VERY IMPORTANT studies of our own here at Look Up Fellowship that are truly worth mentioning on the eve of July 11th. Why? Well, here's another excerpt from Parablesblog...

In this passage we see that the name Beelzebub and Satan are equated with one another. Beelzebub is described in Strong’s Concordance in the following manner:

OT:1176 Ba`al Zebuwb (bah'-al zeb-oob'); from OT:1168 and OT:2070; Baal of (the) Fly; Baal-Zebub, a special deity of the Ekronites:

Is it not interesting that the ball above has also been described as resembling the eye of a fly? Look closely at the following two images together.

Note that Adidas has even formed the pattern of the triangles by using a much touted 3D technology. This 3D technology gives the appearance a much enhanced look, making it appear even more as the eyes of a fly.

Ladies and Gentlemen, it was ONLY A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO when a fly on President Obama unexpectedly was photographed making national news headlines, and prompting us to conduct a study called "Are You Ready To Fly?", which I had completely forgotten about until reading Herrin's latest! Remember that?



Incredibly, the caption that appeared with that photo in the mainstream news that day was "Lord of the Flies" and we wrote at the time...

"Beelzebub", is the name of one of the "7 Princes of Hell", a name derived from "Ba‘al Zebûb", "Ba‘al Zəbûb", or "Ba‘al Zəvûv" (Hebrew בעל זבוב; Greek: βεελζεβούβ; literally "Lord of the Flies"), with numerous variants, which was a Semitic deity worshipped in the Philistine city of Ekron.

Seemingly, Beelzebul is here simply Satan/Lucifer. Relevant to our recent studies and discussions, Beelzebul claims to cause destruction through tyrants, to cause demons to be worshipped among men, to excite priests to lust, to cause jealousies in cities and murders, and to bring on war. Hmmm...

Again, that was a mere two weeks ago my friends. What are the odds of all this spiritual convergence, right? Please, please, please take some time to go back and read that one because we even highlighted all 25 instances of the word "fly" in the King James Version of the Holy Bible and added a comment or two.

I mentioned there were two things I recalled from Herrin's recent column. Well, next I got to thinking about Adidas -- the maker of the controversial Jabulani Ball -- and thought we had explored them in these parts before.

The thought seems strange to me at first, but then I realized that the one and only time that Adidas came in in the course of our studies here was during last Fall 2009. I came to recall that it was a pretty significant mention given the obvious prophetic symbolism.

Check out these excerpts from the column titled "Pruning, Pillars, Prayer, And Union Station" from back in September 2009, or precisely the SAME TIME that the world focused its attention upon the United Nations and "The One's" first speech there.

As you read these selected excerpts, please remember those portions of Herrin's article (Part 2) that referenced the prophesied "sudden destruction" when the world is saying "peace and safety" because it resonates with these selected excerpts from that September 2009 LUF article...

At the very same time I was working my way through a study of the Book of Micah, the world focused its attention on the United Nations and the first speech given there by "The One".

How did I know that the Lord was trying to tell me something by leading me to that study at the precise moment? Well, one of the most famous verses -- one that is contained within the symbolic imagery of a sculpture that adorns the UN Headquarters in New York -- is one that comes from the Book of Micah believe it or not!

Micah 4:3 (KJV) And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. (emphasis mine)

Now, let's remember what we found in the last entry posted here about how Micah and Isaiah were contemporaries. Actually, we find the same words used in the Book of Isaiah too:

Isaiah 2:4 (KJV) And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. (emphasis mine)

May we always continue to trust in Him in the days and weeks ahead because we all know that those who beat their swords into plowshares will end up plowing for those who did not.

"Ok, but Jeff, where does Adidas come into play like you said?" Good question. I was merely setting the stage just like the Holy Spirit was doing when he had me research and write that many months ago prior to this moment in time.

You won't believe this, but in light of everything else this Adidas Jabulani Ball evokes to us students of eschatology with ears to hear and eyes to see, wait until you read about the prophetic symbolism involving Adidas back on the VERY SAME DAY that Obama was speaking at the UN abut "peace and safety" particularly in the Middle East between Israel and her Arab neighbors!

Amazingly, it also involves AN UNPRECEDENTED SOCCER MATCH mirroring what we're seeing today and about to see again tomorrow with the World Cup title match!

Adidas And Puma Bury Hatchet After More Than 60 Years

Simply put, employees of Germany's rival sportswear companies Adidas and Puma symbolically ended the firms' 60-year-old family feud on Monday with a friendly football match to mark the UN-backed Peace One Day initiative. The game was meant to bring a symbolic end to one of Germany's most infamous family feuds, which began in 1948 when a row between brothers Rudolf and Adolf Dassler split the family sportswear business, already a major supplier in the field, into two camps. Does that year ring any bells with you?

Now, I know there will be some people who will see that and go, "Huh? Boy's lost his head again!" But I look at that headline and marvel at how the storylines and themes that the Lord is about to work out in full view within the world (those with serious prophetic implications) has a ripple effect as though this were a small sampling of what's to come. It's like how when you throw a stone into a body of water and you see the outermost ripples first that all point back to that original splash (there's a nod to the custom called Tashlich that we just looked at too).

In other words, I saw this headline and the accompanying story while it appeared simultaneous to Obama's speech as indicative of how peace between the world and Israel is not far off.

Oh yeah, did I mention how that story about Adidas and Puma was about how they "buried the hatchet after 60 years" and that timeline is as close to a dead on match as you can get when comparing it to the history of Israel as a nation?

From Netanyahu's speech to the UN: "Nearly 62 years ago, the United Nations recognized the right of the Jews, an ancient people 3,500 years-old, to a state of their own in their ancestral homeland."

Breathtaking, isn't it? The comment that really hit me hard, however, was when he said: "History has shown us time and again that what starts with attacks on the Jews eventually ends up engulfing many others."

Zechariah 12:3 (KJV) And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

Adding further intrigue is that fact that Adidas and Puma are rival companies out of Germany. Germany has received a lot of attention during this year's World Cup too due to "Paul The Octopus"...




Paul The Octopus is a common Octopus living in a tank at a Sea Life Centre in Oberhausen, Germany. The Octopus is used as an animal oracle in an attempt to predict the results of football matches, usually international matches in which Germany is playing. Paul came to worldwide attention with his accurate predictions in the 2010 World Cup.

During a divination, Paul is presented with two boxes. Each contains food, and is marked with the flag of a national football team in an upcoming match, among which he is said to choose his predicted winner. Paul is reported to have chosen the box with the flag of the winning team in several of Germany's six Euro 2008 matches, and in all seven of their matches in the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

On July 9th, when presented with a box with a Spanish flag attached to it and another with the Netherlands flag, he ate the mussel in the box with the Spanish flag. That act was interpreted as a prediction that Spain will win the World Cup final tomorrow on July 11th.

By the way, you just knew this was going to be the case. There's actually an "11" connection here involving Paul. With Germany's World Cup 3rd place playoff win over Uruguay on July 10th, 2010, Paul's success rate rose to 85%. For the record, that's 11 out of 13 matches correctly predicted. There's that number again!

Of course, I think we can all see the obvious symbolism that prompts us to consider Paul of Tarsus. Paul's conversion to faith in Jesus Christ took place in a profound life-changing experience on the road to Damascus.

Something tells me this is equally appropriate as all the other signs we've identified here today because I believe that it will take a "road to Damascus" type of experience to finally wake people up and motivate them to humble themselves, repent of their sins, and to seek the Lord and Savior for forgiveness, mercy, salvation, and sanctification. Don't you? Is that what's coming tomorrow or soon after?

I'm now prayerfully considering the unbelievable likelihood that one company, and one sport, would feature so prominently when it comes to the subject of end times Bible prophecy and those nations involved in it all. It defies all expectation and logic, doesn't it? Then again, it never ceases to amaze me how our Heavenly Father works in this world.

Yep, I'd say that this is just further proof that there is prophetic symbolism in sports regardless of what the spiritually blind could say in response to such a phenomenon.

One more comment on the number 11. The eleventh "little horn" (Daniel 7) indicates that it is also the number of lawlessness, disorder, and...the Antichrist!

All this from a "funny" and "unique" soccer ball and those "meaningless" stories about it, the World Cup, a company associated with the ball and sport, and Lebron "King" James going to a team called the "Heat". No, nothing worthy of our time and study, huh? Yeah right! Surreal. Boy, what a fascinating study this has been for me today.

Bottom line, not only is there clear prophetic symbolism in sports these days, but there's obvious prophetic symbolism just about everywhere. In fact, it's so prevalent that you'd have to be willfully ignorant to continue to deny the truth of God's Word about what's coming upon the world.

People like that have no clue about the true horror that awaits them. They'd prefer to ignore the truth because it makes them feel a little uncomfortable. What's the best way to ignore the truth and to go on living in pure denial despite all the signs all around us? Sports, sports, sports! They turn to their idol(s) and indulge in sin, and they do this because they'd rather be distracted and entertained instead of facing reality.

Jude 1:4 (KJV) For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Titus 1:16 (KJV) They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

2 Timothy 3:5 (KJV) Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Luke 21:26 (KJV) Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Spiritual convergence or spiritual nonsense? In the end, I'm not sure if there's significance to everything explored here today or not. What I do know is that most of what we looked at together is prophetically significant.

Let's seek our Lord for His wisdom into these matters and share the things He might reveal to us following fellowship and prayer with the Source Of All Truth.
