I saw this headline, picture, story, and video today...
The "Living Goddess" made a rare pilgrimage to the delight of both Buddhists (though not Tibetan Buddhists) and Hindus. "Kumari" literally means "virgin" in Sanskrit, Nepali, and other Indian languages and is a name of the goddess Durga as a child.
I know I don't have to remind you of all the instances of the word "virgin" in the King James Version of the Holy Bible -- 34 times in 33 verses -- many of which are found in the prophetic Books. But this isn't a Study In Symbolism today. It's merely a chance to emphasize a warning that's been given before.
In Hinduism, "Durga" means "the inaccessible", or "the invincible", or "one who can redeem in situations of utmost distress". Durga is a form of Devi, the supremely radiant goddess, depicted as having 10 arms, riding a lion or a tiger, carrying weapons and a lotus flower, maintaining a meditative smile, and practicing mudras, or symbolic hand gestures.

She is thus considered the fiercer, demon-fighting form of Shiva's wife. Durga is the warrior aspect of the Divine Mother. As a goddess, Durga's feminine power contains the energies of the gods. Each of her weapons was gifted to her by various gods: Rudra's trident, Vishnu's discus, Indra's thunderbolt, Brahma's kamandalu, Kuber's Ratnahar, etc. The spear and trident are her most common weapons.
The legend states that Durga was created as a warrior goddess to fight an "asura" (an inhumane force/demon) named Mahishasur. He had unleashed a reign of terror on Earth, Heaven, and the nether worlds, and he could not be defeated by any man or god, anywhere. Now she had come to fight the demon to save the gods.
I want to share with you, word-for-word, some of the phrasing used to describe her and this legend of her encounter with this demon from the Wikipedia site...
Does that sound like any other "divine feminine being" gaining in prominence and being worshipped more and more these days? It should.
Many people laughed and scoffed at my assertions made in May's Right Now Radio Special Report titled "What Every Catholic (And Christian) Needs To Know" on the role of "Mary Worship" in these end times and how it would play a SIGNIFICANT role in the fulfillment of some last days prophecies.
Almost all of the apparitions have stated that Mary is going to usher in a new era of peace and unity. Under her mantle ALL PEOPLE will gather in peace to solve the problems facing the world. Her emphasis on unity and ecumenism cannot be disputed (or understated).
In that broadcast, I presented a wealth of information to prove how this Mary Worship is not something that reserved for just Roman Catholics as we've allowed ourselves to believe. In fact, Mary is mentioned no less than 34 times in the Koran. In addition, the 19th Surah (chapter) of the Koran is named after Mary! It is also interesting to note that in the Koran, Jesus is almost exclusively referred to as "Jesus son of Mary", which is something to be mindful of. More important to our context, Mary is arguably more highly honored than Jesus in the Koran and in the Muslim world. The Muslims, like the Catholics, refer to her as "Our Lady" and she is also venerated as a pure and holy saint in the Islamic world.
Now, keep in mind that there are also hundreds of millions of people in the world today (like those in the story that started this entry) who believe in the gods and goddesses of Eastern religion. It is intriguing to note that Buddhists, Hindus, Native Americans, New Agers, and other similar groups already emphasize goddess worship and the earth as our living, breathing "Mother" too. These groups teach that all religions are similar and that we must unite to solve the myriad of problems facing mankind.
I truly believe that a story like the one highlighted about is just more proof that we are well on the way to the fulfillment of end times prophecy.
The Book of Revelation warns about a counterfeit religious system. Bible-believing Christians call this global religion the counterfeit bride. John labelled this false church "the Harlot", and the Scriptures also indicate the Harlot is associated with a "Queen" too!
Furthermore, John is not the only one who saw that there was a Queen and that this Queen would be judged for the whole world to see at the end of the age. The prophet Isaiah also warned about a deceiving woman called the "virgin daughter of Babylon" who would be judged by God. Those same passages also refer to her as "The Lady of Kingdoms" too!
Folks, there's so much more to this study. If you still doubt such warnings, then you're just not paying attention. For instance, The Watcher's Lamp published a post recently that reported on how the Virgin Mary appeared on BBC Television...
As incredible as that is, it pales in comparison to this other news that broke around the same time...
I know. I wouldn't believe it unless I read it with my own eyes too.
It's so heartbreaking to see so many people held captive in fortresses of darkness, dead in trespasses and sin, rushing headlong into condemnation and judgment over this False Idol worship! This is just more of the usual conditioning and "Predictive Programming" I'm afraid -- so don't fall for it!
For the REAL truth about the the dangerous demonic deception behind the Marian Apparitions taking place with growing frequency all around the world please LISTEN TO THIS.
Pray for the Lord to open the spiritual eyes and ears of those who are caught up in this False Idol worship before it's too late for them to repent of their sins.
We're getting close. Keep looking up!

Nepal's Living Goddess Goes On Pilgrimage
Living Goddess Kumari goes on a pilgrimage in Kathmandu August 26, 2010. The Kumari, a young pre-pubescent girl who is a manifestation of a Goddess, is worshipped by both Hindus and Buddhists in Nepal. The Kumari emerges from her temple only about 12 times a year for religious occasions.
2 Corinthians 11:2 (KJV) For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present [you as] a chaste virgin to Christ.

"It is said that upon initially encountering Durga, Mahishasura underestimated her, thinking: 'How can a woman kill me, Mahishasur — the one who has defeated the trinity of gods?' However, Durga roared with laughter, which caused an earthquake which made Mahishasur aware of her powers.
And the terrible Mahishasur rampaged against her, changing forms many times. First he was a buffalo demon, and she defeated him with her sword. Then he changed forms and became an elephant that tied up the goddess's lion and began to pull it towards him. The goddess cut off his trunk with her sword. The demon Mahishasur continued his terrorizing, taking the form of a lion, and then the form of a man, but both of them were gracefully slain by Durga.
Then Mahishasur began attacking once more, starting to take the form of a buffalo again. The patient goddess became very angry, and as she sipped divine wine from a cup she smiled and proclaimed to Mahishasur in a colorful tone — 'Roar with delight while you still can, O illiterate demon, because when I will kill you after drinking this, the gods themselves will roar with delight'. When Mahashaur had half emerged into his buffalo form, he was paralyzed by the extreme light emitting from the goddess's body. The goddess then resounded with laughter before cutting Mahishasur's head down with her sword.
Thus Durga slew Mahishasur, thus is the power of the fierce compassion of Durga. Hence, Mata Durga is also known as Mahishasurmardhini — the slayer of Mahishasur. According to one legend, the goddess Durga created an army to fight against the forces of the demon-king Mahishasur, who was terrorizing Heaven and Earth. After ten days of fighting, Durga and her army defeated Mahishasur and killed him."
Does that sound like any other "divine feminine being" gaining in prominence and being worshipped more and more these days? It should.

Virgin Mary Appears On BBC TV
This is a segment that appeared on the Wednesday 18th 2010 edition of BBC'S Newsnight programme (Newsnight is a BBC Television current affairs news programme noted for its in-depth analysis). Allan Little heads to the village of Medjugorje in Bosnia-Hercegovina, where many believe the Virgin Mary appears daily...

Rosary Crusade For The Fifth Marian Dogma
But where there is great darkness, there are also the shadows of the great light which is approaching. The infinitely merciful Jesus seeks to renew the earth through a new descent of the Holy Spirit, as brought forth through our spiritual mother. The ultimate remedy for our global state of emergency is direct intercession from Heaven. We urgently need Our Blessed Mother, who brings us the graces of the Son and the renewal of the Spirit.
It is for this reason that we now initiate a year-long Rosary crusade for the fifth Marian Dogma - - that the Holy Father will solemnly define that the Blessed Virgin Mary is the Spiritual Mother of All Peoples as the Co-redemptrix, Mediatrix of all graces and Advocate.
Although Mary’s Spiritual Motherhood of all humanity is already the official teachings of the Church’s Magisterium, the solemn definition of this truth by our beloved Pope Benedict XVI will allow Our Lady to exercise fully and in an unprecedented manner her God-given intercessory powers for her human children in our present state of severe global crisis.
Our Mother’s titles of Co-redemptrix, Mediatrix of all graces and Advocate are her functions for humanity. When they are solemnly defined by the Roman Pontiff, the bearer of the Keys of the Kingdom (cf. Mt. 16:15-20), then and only then will the Co-redemptrix and Mediatrix of all graces intercede for the historic graces of redemption and peace promised at places like Fatima, which will in turn definitively initiate the Triumph of her most Immaculate Heart and an eventual “era of peace” (cf. July 13, 1917 Fatima message).
We therefore humbly beg you, in Our Lady’s name, to join us in this worldwide Rosary crusade for the fifth Marian Dogma, which begins on August 15, 2010, the anniversary of the most recently proclaimed Marian dogma of Our Lady’s Assumption. We ask you to persevere with us throughout the year in daily praying the Rosary for this fifth and final Marian Dogma. Through this Rosary Crusade, we earnestly pray that our beloved Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, will soon proclaim that the Immaculate Virgin Mary is truly the Spiritual Mother of all humanity, as a gift given to us all by our Crucified Savior from the cross, “Behold, your mother” (Jn. 19:27).
Along with the daily Rosary, we also encourage you to pray daily the Prayer of the Lady of All Nations, given by Our Lady for the proclamation of the fifth Dogma in the ecclesiastically approved apparitions in Amsterdam (local approval, May 31, 2002). You may also add the prayer below for the fifth Marian Dogma.

JRed,
Did you see the news of the Nepal plane crash that happened a couple of days ago?:
Father of British doctor killed in Nepal plane crash 'had premonition his son would be killed on flight.'

Durga is Shiva's wife. Shiva means Destroyer in Hindu. The word venerate means to deify, that is, something that was/is no god is MADE into a god. Thus, the angel of the bottomless pit is called Shiva, Apollyon/Apollo, Abaddon. Mary is no deity, nor the devil or devils masquerading as her.
The picture of the idol: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH; The antichrist womanized; riding on Lucifer's back; conquering The Incredible Hulk; Abaddon killing the two witnesses.
The fact that Mary is our spiritual mother is completely biblical as the early church fathers believed. See video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUdYeYy3NQA&feature=related
And to venerate is not to deify
venerate [ˈvɛnəˌreɪt]
vb (tr)
1. to hold in deep respect; revere
2. to honour in recognition of qualities of holiness, excellence, wisdom, etc.
cdnbison,
"Spiritual mother" is one thing, but making her the object of our praise and worship (whether it's above or even on par with Jesus Christ) is not right I'm afraid.
With all due respect, you'd earn a point if we were playing "Politics of Semantics" because you're right about the definition of the word "venerate" and it's comparison to the word "deify". No arguments from me on that as a former English Major.
But this is a serious spiritual issue with potentially eternal consequences -- and it's not an English class/lesson. I think you know what we're talking about here and why it's extremely important.
Let me ask you this...How do you feel about the push for a "5th Marian Dogma" and to make Mary "Co-Redemptrix" then? How do you feel about the Roman Catholic Church's positions about what they (and all Catholics) are supposed to believe when it comes to "venerating" Mary because to put her on par with Jesus, and to make her the Mediator for us is in complete contradiction to what the Word of God tells us...
John 14:6 (KJV) "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
We need to examine what the Vatican has plainly stated about this over the years, and compare that to what the Word of God says plainly. That's our answer.
Praying For Restoration,
Jeff ("JRed")
Hello JRed:
Directly from the Catechism of The Catholic Church we can read on page 275 "The Church rightly honors "the Blessed Virgin with special devotion....This very special devotion differs essentially from the adoration which is given to the incarnate Word and equally to the Father and the Holy Spirit,"
Mary is not equal to Jesus or God the Father or the Holy Spirit. There is only one Redeemer (Jesus) and Co-Redemptrix does not mean she is a co-redeemer, but that she co-operated with Christ's act of redemption. Jesus does not become co-redeemer he is the Redeemer as in there is no other.
Salvation is through Jesus' death on the Cross.
Here's two articles people may find interesting:

Jred, I enjoy your website and deeply respect your fervor in wanting to bring souls to the Lord.
May the risen Lord bless you and keep you all the days of your life.
Thanks for your response cdnbison. Here's the issue I have though...
Why even create and set-up a system where another -- any other BESIDES Jesus Christ Himself -- is receiving our adoration and worship? Doesn't this "devotion", even if it is well-meaning, COMPETE with the devotion that we should be giving EXCLUSIVELY to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ? It most certainly does.
You write that "Co-Redemptrix does not mean she is a co-redeemer, but that she co-operated with Christ's act of redemption". Where in God's Word does it tell us that she "co-operated with Christ's act of redemption"? It's not there I'm afraid and we can't just add to the text like this. That's why I take issue with all of this and why I am concerned and writing about such things.
Here is a list of extra-Biblical decrees made over the years by the RCC. I just don't see how her ascent in status via the Church of Rome over the years, and what it means to the Vatican today, is consistent with the Scriptures.

In Loving Concern,
Jeff ("JRed")
Hey JRed and all bloggers here:
My comment has to do with the poor little girl child who is being looked upon as a god. I feel this is plain out child abuse. This child is kept away most of the year and venerated as a god and brought out for worship and parading about several times a year...they do not consider her humanity made in the real God's image and that they are putting a burden on her that she cannot hold. What depression and oppression she must be under. The whole thing is satanic. We need to pray for the poor children who get dragged into this position, as well as all the poor souls who look to her as a god. Heaven help them all. Amen!
> 431 AD: Mary worship began
The early Church Fathers wrote about Mary as the new Ark of the Covenant and the new Eve long before 431 AD and as stated previously the Catholic Church does not teach the worship of Mary.
http://www.catholic.com/library/Mary_Full_of_Grace.asp
> 600: Prayers directed to Mary (Ave Maria added in 1508)
Prayers to Mary are requests for intercession: John 2:1-12, Rom 15:30, Col 4:3, 1Thess 5:23, 2 Thess 1:11, 2 Thess 3:1, Ehp 6:18-19, Tobias 12:12 and Rev 5:18
> 995: Canonization of Saints
The Church does not decide if people are saints, God does. The Church simply confirms that they are in heaven through the authority given to Peter by Jesus.
Matthew 16:18-19
> 1854: Immaculate Conception of Mary (her sinlessness)
As the Ark of the Old Testament (Exodus 25:11-2) was made of the purest gold to hold God’s word, Mary is the Ark of the New Testament and is the purest vessel for the Word of God made flesh. How could an imperfect sinful vessel have held the Word of God made flesh?
Also, Mary is the new Eve and as Eve was born without sin so also was Mary the new Eve. Mary is the “woman” in Genesis 3:15 and Isaiah 7:14. The first Eve could not have been the enemy of Satan as she was an accomplice through sin and Mary as the 2nd Eve is truly an “Enemy” of Satan and it is her son, Christ who crushed the serpents head through His death on the Cross.
> 1950: Assumption of Mary (she never died)
Assumptions into heaven are biblical (Gen 5:24, Heb 11:5, 2 Kings 2:1, 11-12 and are promised to some Christians in the future 1 Thess 4:13-17. Rev 12-1-8 speaks of Mary as the Queen of Heaven and hints at her assumption. The Trinity is not plainly written within Scripture, but we know it to be true. Just because something is not written in the Bible doesn’t mean it’s not true. In Ps 132:8 shows the Ark in heaven.

Lk 1:32-Jesus has the throne of David.
The mother of the King is Queen: Psalm 45:9, 1 Kings 2:17-20, 2 Chron 15:16, 2 Chron 22:10 and Jeremiah 29:2.
Who is your King and who is his mother?
