We begin with the truth that matters most...
There are other verses I could've used that are just as appropriate, but that seemed like the best one. Leave it to the Lord to deliver an answer to a heated debate from this past week with an event that served as an exclamation point to everything that was being contested.
The disagreement? It all started when I posted the following Status Message on Facebook...
I immediately followed that up with a comment of my own that said...
Well, that certainly didn't go over too well with some of my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ whom I cherish dearly. If I include any of their comments here, then it's only to help clarify the points I want to make in this piece today (and not to point the finger at them or to keep any kind of debate going).
Here's that conversation -- in full -- so that you can understand where I'm coming from...
I know that was LENGTHY (so thanks for being patient and for reading), but I thought it was a fantastic discussion amongst the Body of Christ, and one that we all need to be having right now (especially after what happened this past weekend), which is why I decided to post it in full for you to read and prayerfully consider.
Not to pick on Arlene and her last comment, but are we REALLY seeing "more spirituality and genuine love of the Lord" at these Tea Party events? Sure, it's possible. I mean, I'll admit that I've never been to one myself so I can't say for sure with any kind of authority.
However, I did hear, and read, and see all the things coming from the "Restore Honor" (which has somehow become synonymous with the thought to "Restore America") rally put on by Glenn Beck a couple of days ago and I have to tell you that I didn't like a majority of it. So, if that is representative of what most Tea Party rallies are like, then I think my concerns have been validated some.
Plus, we all know that Beck is a Mormon. Is his god REALLY the same as the God we believe in? Are his religious views REALLY the same as ours? No and no. Sorry, I'm getting a little ahead of myself here.
Here's a quick summary in case you've been living under a rock somewhere...
Glenn Beck On Fox News Sunday w/Chris Wallace (PART 1)
Glenn Beck On Fox News Sunday w/Chris Wallace (PART 2)
Since the majority (including the event's organizers as well as many of you who read this blog and who listen to RNR weekly) are calling this a religious "Christian" event, then we better make damn sure that the things said and seen there (yes, even those things the speakers themselves purport to believe) are COMPLETELY CONSISTENT with what our faith teaches.
I'll just cut to the chase here. Why are we seeing a number of high-profile conservative icons taking positions that put them COMPLETELY off base, and in DIRECT OPPOSITION TO THE WORD OF GOD, when it comes to the radical homosexual agenda!?! By doing so, aren't they showing their true colors? Aren't they hypocrites like all the rest? Isn't this further proof of what we've been trying to say all along for months now about the mainstream media being complicit in trying to generate cultural, social, and political unrest to help to advance an "Order Out of Chaos" blueprint for this nation? You bet it is!
I'll give you a few key examples. Believe it or not, one popular conservative commentator who this applies to is Ann Coulter. She has agreed to speak at the "Homocon 2010" conference, which is sponsored by the group known as GOProud. GOProud supports domestic partnerships and homosexual so-called “marriage”, and it also supports homosexualizing the American military by repealing “don't ask, don't tell'” too.
Let’s get one thing straight. GOProud is NOT a conservative group, even though they call themselves a traditional conservative organization, for the same reasons you can't just call yourself a Christian unless your walk matches your talk. Fortunately, Joseph Farah from WorldNetDaily took Coulter to task and decided to drop her from an event they were hosting, so good for them.
But what is going on here? Why does someone that most conservative Christians view as being an extension of them, a public voice for their feelings on the various issues, decide to speak an an event that encourages and supports the very things that we are against, and the very things that we thought she was against too? Could it be for the love of money perhaps? Regardless, she's not the only one I'm afraid.
The voice of "conservative moral values" and the "political Right" supporting anything homosexual!?! No, it can't be! Sadly, it can. As revealing as that news about Coulter was, Rush Limbaugh was also way off base to pay Elton John $1 million to play at his recent wedding.
That's right! Elton John, although an extremely talented musician, is also a hardcore homosexual activist. He has said some preposterous things like how Jesus would support homosexuality, and so for “El Rushbo” to sort of just ignore that is very, very troubling to me! It's the height of hypocrisy, isn't it?
But wait! There’s one more major voice from the conservative side of the aisle that needs to be called out here. All anyone’s been talking about the past few few days is Glenn Becks’s historic and unprecedented “Restoring Honor” event from this past weekend in front of the Lincoln Memorial in DC.
Guess what? The guy’s a fraud too! He’s a hypocrite like the others I just mentioned! And what I’m about to share with you is proof that we can’t allow ourselves to get too swept up in the emotional side of any political debate, or get to a place where our allegiances lie with mere men and women because then our allegiance and loyalty to God first is threatened.
Most would agree that Glenn Beck is viewed as being a true blue “conservative”, the "beacon of light and truth" for morality in a culture of immorality, and one who is a "staunch ally" of the Tea Party Movement. Do we all agree on that?
Are you sitting down? Beck recently told Bill O'Reilly that he does not care about the homosexual "marriage" issue as long as it does not affect him! He said the following...
Oh, ok, sure. And this is the guy everyone is applauding for organizing the "Restore Honor" rally (a supposedly "spiritual" rally with God at the center) over the weekend!?! Personally, I think it's appalling that Glenn Beck says that homosexual so-called "marriage" does not rise to a national issue, and that it was said just a few days prior to this hyped "religious" event. Gimme a break!
Of course it's going to affect freedom, and, of course it's going to affect children. And for Glenn Beck, a national conservative leader (just like the others called out here today), to be seemingly ignorant of the threat of the homosexual agenda is just astonishing. If Beck is deadly serious about "restoring America", and about getting back to our basic moral, religious, and spiritual foundations, then he must -- HE MUST -- adhere to those Christian tenets that speak directly to those things. Otherwise, he's no better than those he's claiming to be speaking out against, right?
Below is an EXCELLENT article by Brannon Howse about Glenn Beck’s "Divine Destiny" gathering. This article is definitely A MUST-READ, especially for those Christians who still mix politics (the affairs of this world) with the church (the affairs of God)...
How spot on was that?
Howse is the voice of truth in the wilderness here, and I pray that Christians will start to look at all of this stuff in a different light now -- from a truly Biblical and Christian perspective.
It's astonishing, even confusing to some, how so many so-called "conservative Christians" can act and say such things that are so inconsistent with their proclaimed faith. That's only until you consider that this is nothing more than what we’ve been saying it is for months now -- it's "political theater" designed to deceive and distract you from what’s really important like developing your relationship with Jesus Christ. It’s a dichotomy where Democrats-Republicans, the Left-the Right, Liberals-Conservatives – they’re both 2 sides to the SAME sinister coin!
We're also seeing the Tea Party being hijacked by the Republican Party -- just as some of us were worried about for quite some time now. On my local CBS News affiliate TV station here in Buffalo, NY, their coverage of Saturday's event in DC had placed a (T) next to Sarah Palin's name when they showed her speaking.
Say what you will about Ron Paul, but he got it right with his comments about this the other day...
Please read his full comments by clicking that link.
See, again, that's the problem here. It's not just an anti-Democrat, or anti-Liberal, movement taking place in this country. It's an anti-establishment and anti-incumbent movement, but it's also masquerading as a "Christian" movement with "all of the answers to what's wrong in this country and politics today", but we are not sovereign, are we? No! Only God Almighty is sovereign!
That's my primary concern. A love for country is supplanting a love for Christ. It's a subtle form of deception, but its source is that Subtle Serpent himself, after all, so what do you expect?
My secondary concern is that it will lead to violence in the streets resulting in a bloody revolution. Again, this is precisely what The-Powers-That-Be are counting on! Don't you see that they're just looking for any excuse to "drop the hammer" on us now that we've already been classified as "domestic, homegrown, right-wing terrorists" in our own country? You bet they are!
If you're inclined to think that such a scenario is absurd, then please allow me to educate you about one such national group called the "Guardians of the Free Republics" that I just found out about even though they've been making some BIG NEWS on this front for the past several months going back to April. In fact, they were involved in a pretty serious story although I don't seem to recall ever hearing about it until now. I'm beginning to wonder if that's all by design. Keep reading.
Ironically enough, their great plan for this country is also called "Restore America", which begs the question: Who Does The Mainstream Media Really Work For? I pray that you all know that I'm being facetious since we should all know the answer to that one. But again, this further illustrates my case that we're witnessing "political theater" amped up by a corporate media that's beholden to either side of the political aisle (beholden to Satan too).
How many people do you think have Googled "Restore America" hoping to find info on Beck's rally, and instead they're directed to page after page of info on this group that not only advocates "removal by force" at this stage, but one that also claims it has the backing of factions of the US military for ex-military personnel? Was that the point all along? Because I'm willing to bet that more than a handful of those people who stumbled upon these "Guardians of the Free Republics" are itching to sign-up and become a member now that they're sky high following Saturday's exercise in populist politics under the banner of Christianity.
In any event, here's a sampling to familiarize yourself with this group and why they were in the news a few months back (again, how did we miss this until now?)...
Restore America Project: De Jure Grand Jury (3/29/2010)
CNN: Restore America Plan Re-Declaration (4/2/2010)
50 US Governors Must Resign!?!
Letters To Governors Contain No Specific Threats
Again, how did we miss this?
Of course, nothing happened despite the legitimate concerns by the federal authorities and the 3-day warning. Why not? Looking back, I'm surprised that nothing happened given how serious it apparently was. Then again, if this is what I suspect that it is, then a non-event isn't so surprising.
Something happened to delay the inevitable because make no mistake that I'm certain that groups like this will be at the forefront of the chaos, death, and destruction that's coming within this country as puppets whether they realize it or not.
Was it the BP Oil Spill and Gulf Crisis that occurred just 2-3 weeks later? Is the military buildup in that region (which continues to this day) the federal government's response to this "Restore America" plan? Was Fox News' Glenn Beck's "Restore Honor" rally a "go signal" and an indication that we are on the verge of some kind of False Flag event in this nation? I'm just asking.
Again, it just seems so odd that nothing happened despite the concerns and the very specific 3-day warning. I can't stop thinking that this is all coming up for a reason at this precise moment in time. If that's the case, then the "reason" remains to be seen. Still, let's not casually dismiss the threat of a "False Flag" event using this group (or others like it) as the vehicle to carry it out.
(2009) CNN: Feature On Oath Keepers And Guardians Of The Republic
Lies, lies, and more lies courtesy of the media.
As a Christian, it's good to know that there's a group such as the "Oath Keepers" out there who are made up of active police officers and military who plainly state that they will not carry out any tyrannical policies against their fellow American citizens.
Even so, as that 2009 news report clearly showed, you can see how the media has already started to demonize such groups perhaps because of what they MIGHT know will be their role in convicting such a group in the court of public opinion once something happens (i.e. False Flag) and they're charged as the main culprits in some future "attack" in this country against The-Powers-That-Be. Just a thought. I mean, how is this not stoking the flames of dissent in this country with all the "Civil War" talk?
False Flag On The Horizon?
Remember the "Christian terrorists" in the Hutaree Militia? The media didn't give it the same attention they did when that whole saga first broke, but we brought you the FACTS on Right Now Radio following Chuck Baldwin's report that the whole thing was a contrived media hoax!
By the way, in case you're wondering how we might start to see this meme emerge in the press in the very near future, I think we have to look no further than this local news report out of Indianapolis, IN, in which they go to great lengths to demonstrate a pattern of escalating "anti-government domestic terror attacks" on US soil...
The Media's Hit Piece One Anyone Who Is Anti-Anything Right Now
See what I mean? There it is for us in plain sight. Now, remember what we just discovered regarding the Hutaree Militia case because it's the SAME BLUEPRINT being used here.
For these reasons, this is why I keep saying that we MUST BE CAREFUL and simply EXERCISE DISCERNMENT when it comes to the current political climate in this country, and now any kind of "Restore America" and Tea Party rallies too.
It is imperative for us as believers in Christ to be EXPLICITLY CLEAR that even if we agree with people like Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, and Glenn Beck politically, we CANNOT agree with them spiritually when they differ from the precepts found in the Scriptures, and that distinction must be proclaimed as often and as loudly as we can to anyone and everyone who will listen.
As "UnprofitableServant" pointed out in one forum I regularly read, it's sad how far too many in this nation who profess to be "Christian" actually hang on to every word of "Mr. Magic Masonic Mormon Underpants" himself (as the commenter put it)...
Magic Mormon Underwear!?!
Look, I'm just reporting on the FACTS here people.
I'm sorry, but something just doesn't feel right about praising Beck for organizing a "Christian" rally because how in the world can someone who doesn't share my faith ever organize anything "Christian" when his views are not completely consistent with the basic, fundamental tenets of that same faith?
Just because Mormons believe in Jesus Christ DOES NOT make them Christians. Even Muslims believe in Jesus as a prophet as recorded throughout their Koran. Are they Christians too?
The truth of Hosea 4:6 was never more plain and on full display than it was this past weekend in Washington, DC, or the occult capitol of the US. God help us!
"Restore Honor", huh? No, not like this. Not for me.

2 Corinthians 4:4 (KJV) The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
"My concern and problem with the Tea Party Movement? What? You thought ALL CHRISTIANS tacitly approved? Look, we are supposed to be Christians first, Patriots second. That's the hierarchy we're supposed to follow. We are to love the Bible first, the US Constitution second. We are to love God first, love this country (anything else) second."
I immediately followed that up with a comment of my own that said...
"I just think we need to be careful here. I'm not saying we shouldn't contend for and defend the truth wherever and whenever we see it being attacked. We most certainly should! Duty (always starting with prayer) is ours, and the results (whatever they might be) belongs to God. Still, we need to remember that it's an anti-government movement, not a pro-God movement. It's about flags, not crosses."
"Yes, very true. We should always pray for those over us in authority and being in America that means our politicians as well. We should pray for our country. We just need to make sure we remember the order of priority--God first in all things." Tam
"I don't get Christians who put their earthly citizenship first before their heavenly one. If we put God first, I think we would love the people in this country better and those around the world better as well. We don't want to repeat the mistakes of the Christians in 1930 Germany, who didn't know their Scriptures and put the German government before God. Then once they were indoctrinated into the movement, they realized - Oh, Hitler isn't Christian after all - by then, it was too late." Janet
"earthly citizenship is because even greatest nation ever assembled is separation of church and state as god knew it takes time for submission for even civilization takes time to grow from pyramid bricks to media enlightening the earth- town to town- nation to nation- now all earth's children within melting pot of contradictions- atheism or theism- mosques or strip clubs as churches find vacancies in land of freedom in every endeavor as its purpose was to document in real time by media negative behavior by offspring when lead astray(how to make sodom and gomorah in real time). bless the baby boom generation to have been free love hippie guinea pigs- many born again from fire- may enough gather and lead gay parade of deviants to glory- or simply let global nuke war help survivors with discipline to submit for future. America was never a christian nation by uniform agreement- nor Germany as Jews kept separate as muslims buddists and atheists etc do so here." Sami
"I'm an organizer with the local Tea Party; I can honestly say we DO put God first. Every meeting, every event, starts with prayer. Jesus did say 'Occupy until I come,' and we're doing what we can to keep the evil at bay until He calls His own to Himself." Arlene
"It is really sad when a political movement does a better job at exposing the moral decay of this nation than the church. Ostrich Christianity is in no way shape or form Christ-Like, nor does it expose the need for a savior. But I guess when the salvation message gets watered down to repeat after me and go dunk yourself in water and we teach that as salvation; eliminating the need for true repentance. Then I guess ostrich Christianity becomes the lifestyle of choice. I believe God calls it spiritual harlotry." Corey
"How the church rolled over without a fight and allowed this into office. It is a sad, sad deal. WATCH THIS." Corey
"'Ostrich Christianity'? Why? Because I disagree with you and choose to rely on the Lord's power and will over human power and will? That's like calling me a 'racist' because I disagree with the Obama administration's policies, which I do by the way. I'm not suggesting you stop doing what you're doing. All I said is that we need to be careful and discerning Christians here especially in this late and urgent hour when we know that DECEPTION is a hallmark of the end times.
Arlene/Corey, I'm not saying ALL Christian members of the Tea Party are guilty of this (of not having their priorities in line), but far too many are. I guess I just have a different view on it. I think of Daniel and the times he lived in. I think of the Apostles and the times they lived in. Did they concern themselves with politics or preaching? Personally, I think that if we focused more on the latter, then this world wouldn't have so many False Converts -- many of which who voted for Obama. Maybe that's the problem. Maybe there are too many False Converts polluting a legitimate political movement -- those who think they're Christians but are really the ones spoken of in Matthew 7:22-23.
My point is how many Christians in the Tea Party movement are truly relying on God for direction individually? I'm glad that every meeting starts with prayer, and I'm sure all meetings are like that across the country, but I just pray that EVERY MEMBER AND PARTICIPANT (those who calls themselves a Christian) never say a single word, or take a single action, before asking God for guidance through prayer.
Then again, we all know that there will come a time when God's will for this nation -- for the world -- in the fulfillment of His prophecies for the end times will come to pass no matter what we say or do, right? Maybe this is that time.
No, it doesn't mean we stop being responsible Christians. Corey, if you really think I'm guilty of 'Ostrich Christianity', then you haven't been reading or listening what the Lord has had me doing these past few months. I agree with the Tea Party's platform almost across the board. I'm just saying we need to exercise caution and discernment here.
Some interesting notes about Daniel...A holy man held against his will in a hostile land, keeps his faith, loves God, and rises to power. Daniel is about how people of faith are supposed to survive, and even prosper, in an alien land. It's about how we maintain our identity when society wants to erase it. And it's about how we must find strength in small groups. In short, Daniel is a manual for surviving in the face of tyranny.
What's the constant theme? Faith! He (they/Jews) won't assimilate or betray God -- no matter what! But do they fight? No, they exhibit a faith that can move mountains even if it's God's will that they shall lose their lives in the process! Remember the Fiery Furnace? Lion's Den? Of course, right?
I'll wrap this commentary up by saying that I'm not saying we shouldn't protest in the process of contending for and defending the faith/truth wherever we find it being attacked, but I just have a sense that things could turn violent really quickly, and if that's the case that's a whole new discussion. Thanks for your thoughts and God bless you!" Me (Jeff/JRed)
"Jeff at least you are willing to stand up and speak your mind. And it seems you are not afraid to challenge the status quo. Our nation is in the situation it is in because God's people got complacent in this nation. We took our eyes off God and decided to eat drink and be merry and got in bed with world pursuing our own interest and not God's. We will voice our opinions about our favorite sports teams or our favorite American Idol contestant at the workplace but forbid we represent or share the word of God or the message of the cross. If the church denominations could have got in unity and made a stand for a return to Godly morals and held rallies like the tea party is doing then maybe we would not have this yahoo making a mockery of the presidency and God. I tried to rally the church denominations a year before Obamma was elected into office and they treated me like a outcast. Now we have a nut in office mocking God to judge this nation and the church still refuses to get off their blessed ASS-urance and do anything. No wonder judgment is going to start with the house of God." Corey
"Corey, I couldn't agree with your last comment more. Right on! Amen my brother! Sad, but so true, isn't it? I'm sorry to hear that you were rebuked for speaking the truth. At least you were obedient to the Lord." Me (Jeff/JRed)
"Of course, the Lord comes first, but Jesus said, 'Occupy 'till I come.' Are we supposed to roll over, play dead, and let the Occupier of the Oval Office & his Muslim compatriots just take over America?" Arlene
"Arlene, unfortunately I think the real issue is the church leadership of America has chosen the way of Balem the prophet. They have fallen away from teaching the whole counsel of God for the love of money. Jesus said you can not serve two masters. So now the the pulpits of America are full of of a bunch of peacekeepers instead of peacemakers who won't take a stand for anything especially God or God's moral law. Peacemakers go to war for what they believe in and peacekeepers don't want to offend anybody. Jesus was a peacemaker who was not afraid to get in the face of evil and call it how He saw it knowing it would offend the ones He had come to save, and it would eventually cost Him His life. Today our pastors, who claim to be sent by God, refuse to follow Christ example that He set for us, and by their very actions deny Christ and teach others to do the same. They are a bunch of ravenous wolves in sheeps clothing who have become ensnared by their lustful cravings, their covetous heart, their precious reputations, and their spiritual harlotry. Not only is America in real trouble but so are the churches. Unless revival comes again to the churches of America and the people of God truly repent and turn away from the sin in their lives and seek the Lord with all their heart to knows His ways and walk in them, then this nation and the churches are destined for destruction, or else God is going to owe Sodom and Gommorah and the old testament Jews a apology." Corey
"Corey, I agree - the churches are basically licensed by the State - wouldn't want to lost that tax exempt status, after all! :o( The churches aren't concerned with truth - they're concerned with money. It's rare anymore to hear a sermon about the cross, about the blood of Jesus, or about living a holy & righteous life....yet how often do they talk about tithing? (A subject which, as Alister Begg points out, one would be hard-pressed to find in the NT.) Care about souls? Hardly - their priority is a bigger & better building, a six million dollar parking lot, a nicer car for the pastor, and - in the case of the 'pulpit pimps'you see on TV - a newer, faster private jet and a bigger mansion. To be honest, I've seen more spirituality and genuine love of the Lord and of the brethren at Tea Party meetings (at least in this area) than I have at any of the churches I've visited in the past few years." Arlene
I know that was LENGTHY (so thanks for being patient and for reading), but I thought it was a fantastic discussion amongst the Body of Christ, and one that we all need to be having right now (especially after what happened this past weekend), which is why I decided to post it in full for you to read and prayerfully consider.

Following Glenn Beck’s Divine Destiny Or God’s Word?

Would you approve or disapprove if some of America’s evangelical pastors and religious leaders announced they were going to show up at "Oprah’s Divine Destiny" meeting at the Kennedy Center for an evening that would include uplifting music and nationally-known religious figures from all faiths as they unite in prayer and recite historical speeches? Would it concern you if you knew that on her radio program Oprah has taught the book called A Course in Miracles written by Helen Schucman? This book and the workbook include such quotes as:
"A slain Christ has no meaning."
"The recognition of God is the recognition of yourself."
"Do not make the pathetic error of ‘clinging to the old rugged cross’."
"My salvation comes from me."
True Bible-believing Christians would not approve of evangelical pastors and leaders uniting with Oprah in a self-described, religious and spiritual meeting. Why? Because most Biblically thinking Christians do not agree with Oprah’s liberal politics and they know that the truth of God’s Word and Oprah’s pagan spirituality do not mix.
However, many of these same Christians will have no problem when some of America’s evangelical pastors join radio personality and television host Glenn Beck for a spiritual program, because unlike Oprah, they share Beck’s conservative, political views. To many it makes no matter that Beck is a self-described Mormon because his political views trump his religious views and for this reason many will justify taking part in “Glenn Becks Divine Destiny” program at the Kennedy Center on August 27th.
The Apostle Paul warns Christians against uniting with unbelievers in spiritual endeavors in 2 Corinthians 6:14 where we read, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?” In verse 16 Paul declares that Christians must be spiritually separate from non-believers. Remember Paul is talking about being spiritually separate. “Glenn Beck’s Divine Destiny” program at the Kennedy Center on Friday evening August 27, 2010 has been specifically described by organizers as “a unique spiritual event.”
While I applaud and agree with many of Glenn Beck’s conservative and constitutional views, that does not give me or any other Bible-believing Christian justification to compromise Biblical truth by spiritually joining Beck in an event, that according this his own website, will include an evening in which “nationally-known religious figures from all faiths will unite…”. The website continues “The audience for the event will be overwhelmingly made up of pastors, ministers and clergy…” The event is also described as an evening “that will help heal your soul.” This event is clearly a spiritual event with Glenn declaring on a video on his website that the hymn Eternal Father Strong to Save “is the message of 8/27″. The problem is that as a Mormon, Glenn’s definition of God the Father is not the same as that described by Jesus Christ Himself in the Bible. Glenn says, “I have been reaching out to the biggest names in faith for the last year…I have met with the biggest leaders of faith in the country privately and I have asked them to help me put differences aside and to reach out with one another so we can remind people to get down on their knees for our brethren’s shield in our dangerous hour.”
Christians that want to be committed to Biblical truth cannot “put aside” the cross and Gospel of Jesus Christ nor the supremacy of Scripture by spiritually uniting with those that proclaim another Jesus, another gospel and declare the cross foolishness.
Many American Christians will allow their commitment to reclaiming the country, reclaiming Congress, lowering taxes, and defeating the progressives trump their commitment to the Biblical mandate declared in 2 Corinthians 6 as well as the mandate of 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 which commands Christians to expose every high and lofty thing lifted up against the principles of the Lord.
American Christians should not and cannot rate our success on whether or not we return our country and culture to its Christian roots. Our success or failure must be based on whether or not we have been faithful servants of the one and only true God and have earnestly contended for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints (Jude 3).
We appreciate the strong and courageous stands that Glenn has taken but Christians must understand that Glenn is now, by his own choice, promoting something that is not compatible with Biblical Christian doctrines. While Christians can join Glenn in opposing tyranny, socialism, cultural Marxism, and the like; we cannot join him spiritually. We can be co-belligerents on many moral issues with non-Christians but we cannot find common ground theologically, doctrinally, and spiritually. This is not according to me, Brannon Howse, but according to the Word of God. Christians must understand that the Jesus of the cults is not the Jesus of the Bible.
Please remember that I started the website www.keepglennbeck.com to support Glenn when the radicals wanted his advertisers to stop advertising in his program because at the time he was not promoting spirituality but simply providing excellent information about what was happening in the arena of civil government and law. However, Glenn has now moved into an area where we must draw a clear line theologically, doctrinally and spiritually.
I have yet to see anything that would cause me to have a problem with the 8-28 event at the Lincoln Memorial because I have not seen that event described as a “spiritual event” or a “uniting of all faiths” for the purpose of “healing your soul.” If that is what it becomes then I will be equally opposed to the 8-28 event. My concern is really focused on the 8/27 event for the reasons I have articulated.
Some misinformed Christians have e-mailed me Mark 9:38-41 to try and convince me that partnering with Glenn Beck for a “unique spiritual event” is acceptable Biblically even if Glenn Beck is not a Christian, but indeed a Mormon by his own admission. Verse 40 says “For he who is not against us is on our side.” There is just one big problem; the people emailing me this verse are taking this scripture completely out of context. Mark 9 is not speaking of a non-Christian that is doing something good but it is clearly speaking of a true follower of Jesus Christ that was successful in casting out a demon.
If you do not think it is Biblically acceptable for a Biblically committed Christian to be united in a spiritual event with Oprah Winfrey then why is it not also unacceptable to unite spiritually in the 8/27 event with Glenn Beck or any other religious leaders that do not adhere to Biblical orthodoxy? How much different are the religious beliefs of Oprah and the beliefs of Mormons? Christian author Ed Decker who was a Mormon for 20 years of his adult life and was a member of the Melchizedek priesthood, a Temple Mormon and active in many church positions before becoming a Christian has revealed to me such facts as:
> Mormons believe the cross of Christ is foolishness and thus you will not find a cross in or on top of a Mormon temple. Thus a Mormon could say “Do not make the pathetic error of ‘clinging to the old rugged cross’.”
> Mormons believe the blood Jesus Christ shed on the cross is not what saves and thus Mormons will not use red wine or red juice for communion but they use water. Thus a Mormon could say “A slain Christ has no meaning.”
> Mormons believe that salvation is not found in placing your faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone but in good works. Thus a Mormon could say “My salvation comes from me.”
> Mormons believe that God is one of many Gods and that every good Mormon man can become a God himself. This belief is called the law of eternal progression and is best described in this popular Mormon saying, “As man is, God once was, and as God is, man may become.” Thus a Mormon could say that “The recognition of God is the recognition of yourself.”
Do these pastors and Christian leaders not understand that by appearing on stage at this “unique spiritual event” they are sending the message that Biblical Christianity and Mormonism (and any other unbiblical worldview represented) can indeed find spiritual common ground? This is not only a public relations victory for Mormonism but also for universalism.
According to the LDS General Authority and President of the Council of the Twelve, Ezra Taft Benson, the LDS doctrine is that the living prophet is above the scripture.[1] I would humbly plead with those Christians taking part in this spiritual event to not put their own personal desires and agenda above the scripture.
Christians e-mail me to tell me that Glenn Beck uses Christian terms and thus he must be a Christian. Indeed Mormons, as well as New Agers, use many of the same terms that Bible believing Christians use but their definitions of those terms are in direct opposition to the Biblical definitions.
Christians also e-mail me to tell me that they heard Glenn Beck give the gospel on his television program one night. I watched that program and Glenn clearly stated that he had called Richard Land of the Southern Baptist Convention to have Land explain to Glenn the gospel message according to evangelicals so Glenn could contrast it with the collective salvation of President Obama. Glenn provided this contrast; he did not state that he had rejected Mormonism for the truth of the Biblical gospel.
It is not Biblically acceptable for Christians to join Oprah for “a unique spiritual event” and it is equally not Biblical for Christians to join Glenn Beck for “a unique spiritual event.” I do however urge all Christians to pray for Oprah and Glenn that they may indeed come to know the Jesus Christ of the Bible as their personal Lord and Savior. (John 14:6)
Millions of Christian families are watching to see who will have the Biblical discernment and courage to be obedient to God and His Word in which He has clearly revealed His will for us concerning this matter. My heart grieves for the teenagers, college students, and spiritually immature Christians that will be confused and even led astray by this co-mingling of spiritual worldviews.
Do not be shocked, pastors and Christian leaders, when your personal appearance and endorsement of this spiritually pluralistic event increase the already rising numbers of young people leaving evangelical churches to join the Mormon Church. Neither be surprised, my friends, when discerning Christians are leery of your future work because of your betrayal of clear Biblical instruction on this very issue. I want your testimony and credibility preserved and beg you to graciously cancel your participation in this “spiritual event”.
I have received numerous e-mails from former Mormons who understand the seriousness of this issue. Here is one such e-mail:
I was a tenured professor at Brigham Young University from 1999-2008, a dug-in Mormon for 30 years. Christ drew me and I went face down in surrender to the Biblical Christ, now a strong Christian. As former Mormon leaders, my husband and I have been speaking to Christians about Glenn Beck for some time and are shocked at the resistance we hear from Christians who don’t seem to understand the gravity of this false and slippery “christ” of Mormonism.
The late Vance Havner was correct when he declared:
The devil is not fighting religion; he is too smart for that. He is producing a counterfeit Christianity so much like the real one that good Christians are afraid to speak out against it.
As long ago as 1898, Abraham Kuyper warned in the Stone Lectures at Princeton:
Do not forget that the fundamental contrast has always been, is still and always will be until the end; Christianity and Paganism, the idols and the living God.
I pray that America’s Christians and pastors will understand that there is an unbiblical and dangerous spiritual convergence taking place throughout the nation and the world and today is the day to choose whether you will uncompromisingly stand for the living God or give creditability to pagan spirituality.
In I Kings 18:20-21 Elijah declared to the Children of Israel, who were seeking to follow God while also mixing their worship of God with pagan spirituality, that they must choose to whom they would pledge their allegiance. Elijah asked the Israelites “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.”
Yes, I would like to see the progressives defeated and the original intent of America’s Founding Fathers restored, but that certainly will not happen if the true Bride of Christ compromises on Biblical truth. This is no time to be committed to pragmatism because the end does not justify the means. The means simply declares our priorities and Whom we really serve.
Ron Paul’s Shocking Message To The Tea Party
Ron Paul has some surprising news for the Tea Party: You’re being taken for a ride.
At least this is what many libertarians like Ron Paul believe when they see someone like Glenn Beck or Sarah Palin trying to lead the Tea Party at the “restoring honor” rally this weekend. In fact, Ron Paul believes, if you’re looking for real freedom, you should really go back to the core of the constitution and the bill of rights, which Beck and Palin do not fully endorse when you really look at their beliefs.
Whether it be Palin’s support for starting more wars or Beck’s beliefs on paying the private Federal Reserve MORE interest on our money by means of a VAT tax.
Ron Paul believes in neither of the above.
1 John 4:1 (KJV) Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Not for me.

Hi Jeff,
I have not read your whole post yet (is this a record for longness? LOL) but I am glad you brought up the fact that GB is a Mormon. Most people have no idea how crazy their beliefs are. Here is a video that you might find enlightnening.

Jeff,
I agree about Glenn Beck. I get a very uneasy feeling in my spirit when watching him. To me it is clear he is a phony and is playing a very well planned role. I will not get caught up in the Beck madness. But, be prepared to be slammed! I've seen so much Beck "worship" on the end-time forums and they will not like this write-up! Duck!!!

Jeff, thanks for posting this since it is so needed right now. It is sad to see that American Christians are falling for this. Jesus said that His Kingdom was not of this world. When He walked the earth there were many political factions that were trying to change the government that was controlled by the Romans. There were the zealots and many other political groups. Jesus would have none of it. He even warned them that Jerusalem would be destroyed because of their rebellion towards the authorities. We need to stop mixing our faith with politics and realize that our Kingdom is already intact and held together by the Governor of the Universe. We should learn to be secure in that fact and not get entangled with faux spiritual schemes to try to change things. Should we vote? Yes! Should we pray? Yes! Should we be salt and light in our communities? Yes! There are many ways that we can be proactive and make a positive change but let us not be mistaken that our country is a Christian nation. It never was nor ever will be. The sooner we face that reality, the better and more effective we will become as useful citizens of the Kingdom of God.

I've committed myself to a partial blackout of all these right wing media zealots. The only time I listen to Rush Limbaugh or the quivering upper lip and teary eyes of Beck is to study their techniques as agent provocateurs right out of MK-Ultra and Monarch Institute.
The overwhelming piece of evidence is that they all absolutely refuse to dig deeper than the current administration and its minions.
The agenda of their puppet masters is very clever and effective as it has duped most well intentioned, patriotic Americans into actually believing there is noone behind the curtain pulling the levers.
To think that Obama has put this elaborate plan together and is equipped to execute it?
Yes, these commentators are warlocks and are very instrumental in even coercing their diversion to be espoused from behind many church pulpits. Could that be a compenent of the apostacy...?

Hi,
What is RH? What is watch for RH?
Hi,
What is RH? What is watch for RH?
What's funny is that I have never read anywhere in the New Testament about the Christians rising up against any forms of government through voting or taking up arms or any other means. The Apostles were about the business of their Father which was to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is far more important to make disciples of Jesus Christ than to worry about the things of this world.
I will tell you what I see going on in this world that is ruining Christians and the relationship with God. Fear! Fear is being placed upon the American masses. people are taking on the devil in their own flesh. What a shame that they believe the lies. We are to have faith in God alone for our past, present and future regarding our payment of sins as well as our provisions for life while we occupy until His return.
And now they are also being led by a false prophet. They are following a man who believes in a cult (Mormonism)! The wolf in sheeps clothing has entering the pen and he will tear them to shreds if they do not wake up!!
Mormons ARE NOT CHRISTIANS!!!!
A concerned brother.
"Concerned Brother",
Very well said my friend. I especially like your opening about what's noticeably absent in the Gospels because I've noticed that too. Amen!

guess what - also the NFL is starting, the 9th.. would that be the open dream of last year, when the entire arena fell silent, because something supernatural happened...?

What do we know? We know that "False Converts" exist in EVERY religion, and especially in contemporary Christianity. We also know that we're in the midst of the prophesied Apostasy, right?
So, how is pointing out a FACT (that Beck is a Mormon and that his beliefs and his own words dictate that this event did not honor the same God that we worship) equivalent with "pointing fingers" just to cause trouble?
Mormons are NOT Christians. Furthermore, we do not all believe in the same God regardless of what faith we adhere to. That's Universalism -- not Christianity. Again, I encourage everyone to read that Brannon Howse article I linked to in this post as well as this one I just found this morning...
http://bakersfieldchurch.blogspot.com/2010/08/glenn-becks-mormon-infomercial.html
Mormonism is particularly insidious because it SOUNDS so much like Christianity. Remember, we may use the same words, but we are using different dictionaries.

Jeff, I just checked out that link and it seems to me that the consensus among the Christian communitiy is that if Glenn Beck has these Mormon views, so what? People are willing to sacrifice the truth of their faith if they like what they hear. He has all the evangelical jargon down pat so everyone feels at home with him. They can even pretend that he is their pastor. What they don't realize, is that the Morman agenda is not the Christian one. They are very zealous in winning converts! They have knocked on my door numerous times. The book of Morman is another gospel and that is what they present. That is what Glenn Beck is now presenting and I hope that his followers will have the courage to say no to these strange teachings. When Obama was running for President and it was reported that he belonged to the cultic church of Jeremiah Wright, the same attitude of "so what?" was stated by many Christians. Now the whole nation is paying a heavy price.
That's a great observation Rob. I agree too. Far too many Christians are COMPROMISING their faith because they feel they have a voice now (with the whole "So what?" or "What's the big deal?" attitude).
What they fail to realize is what we read here...
Romans 8:31 (KJV) "What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?"
The prophesied Apostasy is well underway in this nation, and it's sad to watch it all unfold.
Lord have mercy!
Keep Looking Up,

"If I had told you five years ago that a "conservative" radio and TV personality would have millions of viewers, would talk about the spiritual battle being waged in America, would be a self-confessed member of a cult, would quote New Age phrases, would call for Christians and conservatives to look to the "one god", would seek to unite all faiths and would convince dozens of evangelical pastors and leaders to support him in a spiritual service-you would say I was writing fiction and that this would never happen." Quote by Brannon Howse of the Christian World View Network.
Here's another excellent commentary on what we saw over the weekend from OneNewsNow...

Lord, please open our eyes!

Is not Glenn Beck going blind? The blind leading the blind: no symbolism there.
Great observation Rob! I agree.

Deirdre
Lone,
You said,

yes i know, some details, but im searching so long for what resembles her most...
I believe what resembles the Bride of Christ the most, is Truth, Beauty and Goodness all wrapped up in one. When you see/talk to another brother/sister in the LORD Yeshua, your spirit will bare witness to their spirit: which shoul be the Spirit of Christ. I don't think it will 'look like anything' we see with our natural eyes. "The just shall live by faith, not sight".
Peac,
Deirdre
If you want yourself to be taken seriously, and not be seen as a hypocrite also, you should refrain from using obsene language in your articles, i.e. d_mn.
My apologies Anonymous, but I wasn't aware that it was an "obscene" word. Any others I should be careful to write in future posts? Either way, point duly noted though, and it will be taken to the Lord in prayerful consideration.
It's funny (and ironic too) that this would come up in a commentary about Apostasy/False Teachers/Wolves/False Converts/Blind-Leading-The-Blind.
Why? Because Obama's buddy Jeremiah Wright takes the Lord's name in vain by making it a cuss word by marrying the name of our Creator with this same "obscene" word, and yet the nation yawns as millions of "Christians" and Jews voted for him anyway. But those are "Christians" too just like Glenn Beck, huh? Interesting.
Prayerfully Considering All Reproof All The Time,
Jeff ("JRed")
Hey Jeff,
I've been a Yankee in the South for quite some time now and I can tell you that Southerners do not tollerate cussing as much as Yankees do. Hang in there!! (-:
Peace,
Deirdre
JRed:
According to you the left is wrong. The right that we thought was right is wrong to. I get a feeling that if we don't take your point of view then there is no where else to turn or look.
Man/humanity is imperfect.
Glenn Beck is a morman. Not Christian
Sarah Palin is a woman and Christian's can't follow under women.
Ron Paul's father was a card carrying mason and therefore the son is also.
Tea Parties are full of stupid Christians that disagree with one JRed.
That is what I gather you are trying to convince us of.
You hide behind the God thing when you are confronted and/or attacked here. If you don't believe me ask anyone and go back and read your commentary or your rebuttals.
"Hiding behind the God thing", huh? HA! That's a new one here after 2+ years.
You sound like a true blue non-believer. Welcome to this forum! I pray that you'll stick around and that the Lord opens your eyes and ears to the truth.
Oops, sorry! There I go "hiding behind the God thing" again. Silly me.
Look, it's not about me, it's about Jesus Christ. It's not a popularity contest, it's about preaching the truth of the Gospel. If you don't like what you read (or disagree) I'm sure there's some other place on the Internet that will tell you exactly what it is that you want to hear.
Praying That You Will Read Ephesians 5:11, Acts 20:29-30, Matthew 7:15, 22-23 And Then Get Back To Me,
Jeff ("JRed")
Lone, ah buddy...you are not susposed to be sexually attracted to the "bride of Christ". I followed your link, friend you have quite a bit of deception to come out of if you think a picture of the bride of Christ resembles a tarted up animae picture.
Jred, if all your troll can come up with is that you used the word damm...you are doing damm good.
I am very, very grateful you posted this and some of the other things you have gone back on recently (like saying God is reaching us using movies etc).
Keep reaching brother.
Limbaugh,Beck,Oprah etc. are not Bible believing Christians. They may be moral, loving, sincere people but they are LOST sincere people. They preach humanism. True Christians want morality in our culture but the world does not want God's morality -we do. THAT is the bait in the trap for simple minded Christians who flock to tea parties and lay aside Bible doctrine or are ignorant of it.
I caught a few minutes of the G. Beck show this afternoon and thought I was watching an 'Ole time camp meeting hour'. He is as bad as Oprah preaching her 'god(any god will do) is love' gospel.
I've recently heard an Islamic cleric state 'religious extremists are dangerous' and that 'all religions need to come together and fight them'. To the world of apostate 'Christianity' we Bible believers are extremists. We will not be tolerated.
We can see persecution on every side coming closer and the drumbeats of war are getting louder.
The night is far spent. The day is at hand.
Jeff,
I hide behind God everyday! There is no way that I would step foot out into this world from under His shadow. Thank God He shelters us from the storms. What a privilege it is to hide behind Him! Not many people in this world have that honor. If He didn't we'd all be dead.
Nate

There could not have an been a more Pro-God than the Restore Honor event... This was not a Tea Party event or political in anyway... Unfortunately, this was not a "I'm right and everyone else is wrong and going to hell" event that Mr Howse wanted... Mr Howse takes more topics out of context than the extreme left.... I don't have time to write too much but our homosexual stance is that the government does not grant marriage rights.... Rights come from God, not the government... We believe in a individual salvation not a collective salvation. Supporting government bills to outlaw homosexuality or even sin itself is not going to get me a ticket to heaven. We must individually decide to follow God. Glenn is extremely outspoken against Oprah's "Divine Destiny"... Mr Howse is a liar either a liar or misinformed. Obviously Mr Howse believes in a unnecessary division that Jesus never taught... We need to live our lives as Christians rather than attack Mormons and Jews. The truth will always prevail and God will revel himself on his timetable not ours. As Christians need to believe the truth, logically know why believe we believe the truth, and live the truth.
