The Gay Myth

***NOTE: You'll want to read the thought-provoking comments in the Comments Section following this commentary as well as my Mea Culpa...***

The homosexual agenda has been in full swing lately, which is why this headline and story was welcomed on my end the other day...

Study Finds First Genetic Link To Common Migraine

LONDON (Reuters) – An international scientific team has identified for the first time a genetic risk factor associated with common migraines and say their research could open the way for new treatments to prevent migraine attacks.

Researchers who looked at genetic data from 50,000 people from Finland, Germany and The Netherlands found that patients with a certain DNA variant affecting regulation of a particular brain chemical have a greater risk of developing migraines.

The results suggest that a buildup of that chemical, called glutamate, may play a role in the mechanism of migraines.

"This is the first time we have been able to peer into the genomes of many thousands of people and find genetic clues to understand common migraine," said Aarno Palotie, chair of the international headache genetics consortium at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute in Britain, which led the study.

Interesting, isn't it?

With all the advances in modern medicine and science, and with discoveries like this one, there's still no proof that people are "born gay" like we've been told all these years. Why? Because that's a MYTH promoted by the world at large. I know of some "Christians" who have even fallen for this lie!

FACT: The research does not show that anyone is "born gay", and instead suggests that homosexuality results from a complex mix of developmental factors.

See, that's because it's a lifestyle of sin that one chooses much like one who would choose to become an adulterer, a liar, a murderer, or a thief. We all have the disposition to commit sin and engage in sinful behavior (engage in a sinful lifestyle), but Jesus Christ can free us from the bondage of sin if we recognize the presence of sin in our lives (by calling a sin a sin), by repenting of those sins, and then by asking for His forgiveness from those sins.

FACT: Thousands of men and women have testified to experiencing a change in their sexual orientation from homosexual to heterosexual. Research confirms that such a change does occur -- sometimes spontaneously, and sometimes as a result of therapeutic interventions.

Folks, this is the widely published secular information that Academia, Hollywood, the Mainstream Media, and Pop Culture DO NOT want you to know about, but it's all there as a matter of public record for anyone who's interested in the truth.

You want proof? Here's a simple example that you can try at home. I have Google Chrome as my Internet Browser of choice. If I go to Google to do a search, I begin typing my keywords into the Search Bar field, and it instantly tries to guess what it is I'm looking for, and then gives me a list of possible options in a drop down menu. You're all familiar with that process, right?

Well, I knew I wanted to include The Family Research Council's recent report in PDF form titled "The Top 10 Myths About Homosexuality" and needed to find it online. Guess what? Even though I knew the EXACT TITLE, and even though the phrase was SIX WORDS LONG, Google/Chrome WOULD NOT try to guess about what I was looking for to try and help to lead me in the right direction! See what I mean?

Why would they do that? It's pretty obvious by now, isn't it? These are simply the small tricks that The-Powers-That-Be use against us on a DAILY BASIS in an attempt to condition the masses to serve their Satanic agenda. I mean, why would they want to lead anyone to the truth, right? Why would they want to point anyone to anything that would contradict the status quo? Try it out for yourself sometime. It even works at places like YouTube too.

And to think I haven't even mentioned all that God's Word has to say about this subject! I didn't need to, given the abundance of non-religious evidence that's available.

It's time to wake up and to start contending for and defending the truth.

Let's pray for everyone caught up in this lifestyle of sin.

Hi JRed:

The thing that stands out to me the most is the fact that this premise is all based on a LIE and we know who the father of lies is. This is why it isn't just a simple issue, it is demonic from the core, completely contrary to God's will and purpose for human beings. It is just another way for the enemy to try to get us to destroy ourselves. He plants some rotten seeds and we help them grow. We must constantly be discerning if we are going to follow the Lord and it is only through seeking Him for this discernment and staying close to His presence and Word that will keep us planted firmly in the truth and on guard from the enemy. Amen!

Jeff,
I have a slightly differnt take on this. I know someone whose son killed himself because he was battling this issue and he was southern baptist. People would make fun of him because he was slightly effeminate. Having a son who is struggling with sin (not homo, he lives with his girlfriend)I can state I would rather have a gay alive son, then a dead son. While we live, there is always going to be a chance to get to the heart of the matter. We are to be like kings and search a matter out: a heart matter. Why is one gay, why is one gluttonous, one addicted to cigarettes, porn, shopping, work...As believers we need to rise above the "circumstances" what we see in the natural and search out what is going on in the heart. Remeber JESUS's words: the flesh counts for nothing. The Spirit gives life and is truth.

I gave this topic considerable thought over the years, since I 'had' a similar problem. 'Had', because it is not really understood by most.

What if, each and every person experience at least one kind of temptation which needs to be overcome to grow as a Christian?

Whether it is a problem with your temper, a desire to steal, addiction to alcohol and drugs, temptation to feel attracted to your own gender?

It only becomes a sin when you yield to the temptation and do the deed. Just experiencing the temptation is not wrong, it's the deed. You fight the thought before it becomes a stronghold in your mind and alter your lifestyle.

What if you gave in to this temptation all your life before, but then became saved and stop yielding to it? Then the sin is not done anymore, although you might still experience the temptation. Every time you are strong in the Lord and resist sin, you as person grow in your faith.

When an addict stop using whatever was used when addicted, is that person still an addict?

When a prostitute stops fornicating, is she still a prostitute?

When a thief stops stealing, is he still a thief?

When a gay person stops having sexual encounters with someone of the same gender, is that person still gay? Society say yes, but personally for me, I don't think so. And that is how Satan mislead the world today. A label is falsely given to people which they don't deserve and struggle to shrug off. People are not gay who don't do the gay lifestyle. According to society, (who's way of thinking and morals are formed by the (satan-) controlled media) they are gay, and individuals who experience this temptation, but NOT give into it also thinks they are gay, although they are not. Why would any one stop from doing gay actions, if they perceive that they cannot do anything about it to stop, while all the while something CAN be done about it!

Let Christ renew your mind as he's done mine. If you do not do the lifestyle, you are not gay, and you are acceptable to God. He is proud of you that you can resist the devil.

As a person who use to be gay, I might not get married and have children because I do not have the desire. That is not wrong. In the life hereafter we won't be giving into marriage anyway, don't you agree?

anony 5:43 Thank you for sharing your testimony! You are so dead on about temptation and sin. I would only ad that the LORD did tell us if we lust after someone in our hearts it is adultry or hate someone in our hearts it is murder. So we do need to examine our hearts and make sure that we are in the faith: repenting of sins 'known and unknown'. GOD's grace is greater than our hearts though and praise HIM for that!

I have listened over the years to so-called leaders preaching vehemently about this subject. I believe you are taking a completely wrong approach to this topic, and I will explain why.

Before I begin, here are two of the most pertinent quotes from your post:

"there's still no proof that people are "born gay" like we've been told all these years. Why? Because that's a MYTH promoted by the world at large. I know of some "Christians" who have even fallen for this lie!"

"FACT: The research does not show that anyone is "born gay", and instead suggests that homosexuality results from a complex mix of developmental factors."

Okay, I said two quotes, but here is a third:

"See, that's because it's a lifestyle of sin that one chooses much like one who would choose to become an adulterer, a liar, a murderer, or a thief."

Now, I am going to shock you by saying that you did not choose to become a sinner. The fact is, according to Scripture, you were BORN a sinner. You descended from Adam. You inherited sin. It is in your DNA.

A lot of people think that saying something like I just said is to somehow justify ourselves. It does nothing of the sort. In fact, it drives the point home in a very significant way.

Jesus came into this world to save sinners. That includes you. It includes me. We have all sinned and we all fall short of the glory of God.

When I said that none of us chose to be sinners, it should not be construed to mean that we did not choose to commit sin. We all have committed sin, and whoever says they are without sin is a liar and a deceiver.

However, you are missing the point by taking the approach of arguing about whether being homosexual is a behavior, a chosen lifestyle, or a genetic problem.

Are you lustful, or greedy, or selfish, or (fill in the blank) because of genetics, or is it a choice? The answer is very clear: "Yes!"

Let's suppose you were able to clean up your lifestyle to the point where you no longer committed anything considered wrong or sinful behavior. Would you then be good enough to go to heaven? Of course you wouldn't.

Do you know why? It is because sin is in your members - the members of your body, that is.

I hear almost universally people speaking of a "sinful nature." In fact, I typically read the NIV (New International Version) and it quite consistently translates the term "flesh" and calls it "the sinful nature." However, studying in the Greek (which of course, the New Testament was written with) I have found no such thing as "the sinful nature." What I have found is instead called "flesh." Even terms such as "the carnal mind" (Romans 8:7) is in fact referring to a mind of flesh. It is the Greek word "sarkos." It means, in short, "meat."

The Word of God became flesh and dwelt among us. He gave His flesh and His blood in order to redeem us and set us free from sin.

How do we recognize the spirit of antichrist? It is the one who denies Jesus coming in the flesh.

What if science does prove a genetic link to homosexuality? Then what will you say?

I know exactly what I will say in such an event. I will say that it proves the point of the good news of Jesus Christ. He did for all of us what none of us could do for ourselves. We were all born into Adam and we all INHERITED sin. That is why we DO sin. It is in our GENETIC makeup. Sin is in our DNA.

That is the actually the ENTIRE point! According to the good news, Jesus died on the cross. He shed His blood for us.

(continued from my previous comment)

Jesus did not inherit Adam's sin. His blood, His DNA, contained NO SIN.

The blood that Jesus shed did not come from Adam! The blood does not come from the mother, but comes from the father. Jesus did not have Adam as His father, but rather His Father was God.

The life is in the blood. The life that was in Jesus during His time on earth was pure and not defiled in any way. His was the power of an indestructible life, and His flesh was incorruptible and not subject to decay. Therefore, death could not keep Him and God raised Him up from the dead!

Our bodies, on the other hand, are defiled and corrupted by sin. This is true from the point of conception. Before you ever did one act, or committed a sin, or made a choice of any kind whatsoever, you were already corrupted with sinful DNA and your blood was unclean. This is true for each and very single one of us.

No one can EARN their way into the kingdom of heaven. You cannot earn your way, pay your way, bribe your way, will your way, or behave your way into God's kingdom. There is only one way: it is through new birth.

The kingdom of God is INHERITED. However, sinful flesh and corrupted blood (DNA), cannot INHERIT the kingdom of God. It can only be obtained through birthright, and that is, by being BORN AGAIN through incorruptible seed, the Word of God.

When we believe in Jesus, we become partakers, by faith, in His flesh and blood. If we do not eat His flesh and drink His blood then we do not have eternal life. That is because His flesh is true food and His blood is true drink.

If you have become a partaker of Christ, then you have been joined with Him in His death. And if you have been joined to His death, then you are also a partaker of His resurrection.

Being born again isn't the effect of any behavioral choice. It is the result of simply believing the message that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. This is the good news. That Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners.

We were without any hope whatsoever, because we were utterly and completely at a loss and unable to save ourselves.

Our bodies, or blood, our DNA all descended from Adam and we were perishing. But Jesus came down out of heaven from God, pure and holy and without any blemish.

Jesus became one of us, of flesh and blood. And yet, the life in His blood came from heaven, from God. The body and the blood of Jesus did not descend from Adam. He was not born into corruption and death and was never subject to decay. But all of us were corrupt even in the womb.

(part 3, continued from my previous comments)

Rather than arguing the point of whether homosexuality (or any other sin for that matter) is a choice, a lifestyle, or a matter of DNA is to really miss the point. And more importantly, it is to miss the opportunity to preach the good news to someone that needs to hear it!

The good news is that although we were once slaves to sin, sold into bondage by our ancestors Adam and Eve, and without any hope of ever becoming free, God did something for us that none of us could ever have done for ourselves. He sent His Son in the likeness of human flesh. Through His death, He rendered sin's claim over us null and void. He set us free from bondage to sin and death and from the corruption in our sinful flesh and blood bodies. Through Him, we died to sin, and through Him we are raised up with a new life. Because of His incorruptible seed, the Word of God, we have new birth and have become partakers in Christ and inherit the kingdom and promises of God. This is not because of any human effort or choice, but it is because of the power of God. There will not be in heaven even one person who was not BORN FROM ABOVE.

The old life, the carcass that came from Adam will be gone. It was disposed of on the cross of Christ, once and for all. That corrupted DNA, that bloodline, has been judged already and it will not continue into the ages to come.

Do you not see? It is not merely a matter of bad behavior, nor of evil actions and choices. Had it been so, then God could have just forgiven us all.

No my friends, it was a matter of DNA. We were all, each and every one of us, inheritors of a dead and corrupt bloodline and incapable of saving ourselves.

God's solution was to become a man and eradicate the flesh by nailing it to the cross.

Adam has already been judged and the sentence of death was carried out. Jesus Christ paid for the penalty, and death was swallowed up in His victory when He came up from the tomb alive.

Now to every person that believes the message He gives a brand new life, a brand new DNA from a brand new seed, the Word of God.

This new life is fit for the kingdom of heaven and is ready to put on immortality at the appearing of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

"Anonymous",

Well said, and I'm not in disagreement with you based on what you wrote. I also want to thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful and thorough response.

Romans 3:10-12 (KJV) "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one."

Of course, we are all born sinners. That's a basic, fundamental tenet of our faith, and I assumed that readers would know that's not what I ever meant to insinuate here b/c it's a given. I wasn't clear on that and I'm sorry for any confusion, or for coming across "wishy-washy" in my doctrinal stance on this issue.

Instead, this presentation was just a quick response to those who constantly assert that homosexuals are "born that way" when, in fact, the evidence (the kind they want) doesn't support such a claim. That was my target here.

It was also a response to anyone who seeks to take the "DNA/Born this way" position another step further by erroneously suggesting that since God made us, and since we are all born sinners, then it's "God's fault that I am gay!", which is certainly the wrong way to view sin and ourselves as sinners.

Here's the bottom line...

Admittedly, you were absolutely right to call me out and rebuke me on some of the statements I made in this piece. Why? Because I was wrong. Call it laziness, being overwhelmed at the moment, or whatever you want to label it, but the truth is that going back and reading what I wrote (in light of your response) I can now see why you had a problem with it b/c I have a problem with it! HA

Plus, I wrote this and scheduled it to publish awhile back and BEFORE the time I even began studying and understanding the doctrines of God's sovereignty, election, and grace (which I've been "obsessed" with studying lately).

That being said, some of the comments I wrote are DEFINITELY inconsistent with what God's Word says about such things and the role they play in our daily lives, and I'm glad that I have brothers and sisters in Christ like you to steer me back onto the right path when I fall asleep for just a moment and go slightly off the road. So, please accept my apology for seeming to lead anyone astray here, and thank you for correcting me.

By the way, I loved what you wrote at the end of your first comment about what your response will be if they ever do "prove" a genetic link to homosexuality -- perfect!

In Christ,
Jeff ("JRed")

Note to self: Don't cue up an entry while you wait for the "right headline" to come along so that you can simply inject it into it and then publish! Also, make sure you go back and always re-read and edit what you wrote to account for the things the Lord has taught you (is teaching you) since you first typed such things.

My Brother,

I did not write with the intent of "rebuking" anyone. I think "admonish" is a better word. It simply means "to warn earnestly and firmly, yet gently."

Our goal is to love one another, build each other up and to share the good news.

The real point is this: Christ came into the world to save sinners. He was crucified, and rose again on the third day.

By faith, Christ's death becomes my death, and His resurrection is my resurrection.

This is completely necessary, because it is a hereditary and genetic issue. Therefore, we MUST be born from above, to become a member of the new man, Jesus Christ.

There is no need to waste time and effort trying to convince someone of something that really doesn't matter. That issue being, whether their sin is a "choice" or "genetic."

That is because, the answer is: it is both.

This is the reason Jesus said, "Either make the tree good, and its fruit will be good; or make the tree bad, and its fruit will be bad." And also, "The axe is already laid at the root of the tree."

The "tree" makes it a DNA issue, a genetic issue.

This IS the very root of sin, and it is the very heart of the issue. Take away the hereditary issue, and you take away the new birth.

Most people think it is about behavior. They think they will go to heaven by being a good enough person.

But it isn't about behavior. It is about being. Who are you? If you are Adam's descendant, you must die. But we are made alive in Christ, the new Man.

It isn't whether you are "good enough." It is whether you are in Adam, or in Christ. Being in Adam is a matter of genetics, of birth. Being in Christ is a matter of new birth.

The behavior, the lifestyles, the choices that we make - those are but symptoms. The disease? It is our hereditary corruption as members of a fallen race called "man."

Alas, we are doomed, we are doomed! Apart from God's solution, to cut off the tree at its very root, we would be doomed. But out of His great love, God came to our rescue! He sent His Son into the world through birth, but not from Adam.

Jesus came from God, born of a virgin. The seed in her womb did not carry Adam's genetics! She became pregnant by God's seed planted in her, beginning a completely new race.

This is now God's progeny; a chosen race, or generation. In Greek, Peter called it an "eklekton genos" or an "elect generation."

Do you see? It is all in the genes - again and again, over and over in scripture. The issue is genetic. It is hereditary. It is about new life descended from God versus old life descended from Adam.

Blessings!

Thank you all for your comments and thoughts on such a policy if it were to ever go into effect.

Check out the last "anonymous" comment. See what I mean?

I'm all for correcting, and learning, and teaching using God's Word, but sometimes the comments here are so obviously meant to distract that it takes time away from being productive for the Lord.

To the last "Anonymous" writer...If you're a genuine Christian, are you being serious with such a statement?

Lord Please Give Me Patience,

Absolutely! (On both counts). I just love how preachers will stand in the pulpit and harp on and on and on about this sin and that sin, and then rub his rotund midsection as he announces the "after service luncheon" and comments on how everyone knows how much he loves fried chicken! Oh please!!! Instead of harping on homosexuality and gluttony, we need to stick to preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ!! All sin is the same in the eyes of God, but it is man who makes one sin incorrigible and another practically respectable.

It would do good to understand Romans 7

Jeffrey K Radt ("JRed") said...

Thanks for the clarification Anonymous. I truly appreciate it, and agree with you. The challenge is to not fall into hypocrisy while always adhering to this...

Acts 20:27 (KJV) "For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God."

A delicate balancing act indeed sometimes. Thanks again.

In Christ,
