Let's establish the proper foundation first...
Sadly, far too many Christians fail to recognize the sovereignty of God let alone understand what that truly means. It's precisely why millions of Christians are getting too caught up in the politics of the day. They'd rather preach to others about the necessity of a party, than preach to others about the necessity of the cross. Moving on...
Well, isn't this interesting? I'll admit, this piece hurts. It hurt me to write it because I actually found myself doing something I never do -- defend the liberal mainstream media and those on the Left.
You may have heard about the Alaska incident involving Tea Party/Republican Joe Miller and an Online Journalist. This is one of the more disturbing political incidents in the run-up to the midterm elections.
Apparently, the incident took place this past Sunday night, when "private security guards" (remind anyone of Wackenhut?) working for Tea Party/GOP Senate nominee Joe Miller forcibly detained and handcuffed a Journalist as he tried to ask the candidate questions that he did not want to answer. The nerve of some people, huh?
Joe Miller Detained And Handcuffed A Journalist In Alaska
Of course, I'm not a big fan of Democracy Now!, but they do report the facts without bias in this particular case so you can forget about any possible charges of "Gotcha Journalism" here.
I found another video commentary on this disturbing case...
Tea Party Prefers Propaganda?
The problem I have with this story should be obvious. Typically, we're so quick to point the accusatory finger at the "Liberal Media", but then why aren't we willing to defend them especially when we say we stand for truth wherever we find it under assault because we're Christians? The hypocrisy!
As a result of what happened in Alaska, we should be asking ourselves if this in any way demonstrates the Tea Party's contempt for a "free press" especially if the press prints anything other than flattering coverage of the Tea Party Movement.
Actually, let me put that another way too. It's almost as if the Tea Party and its candidates want (and expect) the media to respond to it in 1 of 2 ways...
Enter the Independents.
See, it's the Independents and Moderates (mainly those in the non-mainstream/underground media) that are willing to ask the tough questions in pursuit of the truth because they are no beholden to any single cause or party.
In some cases (no, not all, but some), they might even recognize that the whole political process is nothing but sophisticated, high-stakes "political theater" designed to distract us from us really important like preaching the Gospel and developing a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Furthermore, they understand that Left-Right, Conservative-Liberal, Democrat-Republican -- it doesn't really matter -- because they're just two sinister sides to the same corrupt coin. Enter into evidence what happened in Alaska last weekend as Exhibit A.
As expected, Joe Miller appeared on Fox News the day after to explain...
Fox News' Neil Cavuto Interviews Alaska Senate Candidate Joe Miller
Blah, blah, blah. I just think this whole thing is utterly ridiculous because how is this demonstrative of the kind of "real change" that Tea Party-ers want o bring to Washington in response to Obama and his cronies type of "change" we've been suffocating under for the past 2 years? It's not! Pure hypocrisy in my book!
Now, there's one more angle to this story that we need to address before wrapping things up. More info is emerging on the identity of those "private security guards" and I will assert that this is something that should concern all of us regardless of whichever side of the political aisle we find ourselves on.
Ignore the offensive remarks by the talking head and instead try to just focus on the facts of this case. That's what we should be concerned about here. Check this out...
Joe Miller's Private "Guards" Were Active Duty Military
(NOTE: I don't not agree with or condone the commentary espoused here in this video by this particular talking head especially in regards to his low view of our dedicated and heroic military forces. In fact, I have a family member serving in Afghanistan right now and also have several family members who served in the armed forces as well. However, I wanted to share this video because it contains important information relevant to this discussion.)
It was a Town Hall Meeting -- not a "private" event.
How is this any different from the Dems who avoided Town Hall Meetings during the whole push for ObamaCare? Didn't we go after them in full force too for not doing their job and answering the tough questions from their constituents? Ok, so why aren't we doing the same in this case?
In addition, the maker of the above video also linked to an old 1990 DoD Directive titled "Political Activities By Members of the Armed Forces On Active Duty", which clearly states that...
I encourage you to read the entire single-page document. And, please, if there's a more recent update to this policy that says it's acceptable for Active Duty military personnel to do this sort of thing at a political event, then please post it as a comment here and correct me if I'm wrong.
Bottom line, we always bristle at the federal government's (and mainstream media's) attempts to label people like us as "terrorists", right? So why in the world would a Tea Party candidate employ people and allow them to operate in ways that will only feed and support such false notions? Dare I say that it seems a little too contrived perhaps? Probably just over-thinking things although I wouldn't put it past Satan especially if God allowed him to operate in such a way.
The key for us as we approach the upcoming midterm elections is to remember what Jesus Himself warned us. "Take heed that ye be not deceived..." (Luke 21:8). Come to think of it, something from James strikes me as being appropriate to the political turmoil we are likely to see (are already seeing) not just here in this country, but around the world very soon...
Great advice, isn't it? How many of us will remember any of that before we enter the voting booths in a couple of weeks (or as we're coming out and we're greeted by reporters)?
The truth? No political party, no politician can save the US let alone save us. Only Jesus Christ has the power to do that. My how we've forgotten the basics. A fulfillment of the prophesied Apostasy perhaps?
Look, I'm well aware of how the mainstream media has blatantly attacked anyone who even remotely agrees with the platform promoted by the Tea Party Movement, and their aggressive attempts to characterize people like me as being a "domestic, homegrown, right-wing terrorist" in this nation for such views, but let's try to be a little fair and balanced here. As Christians, isn't that the higher-calling we're charged with in this life?
Despite the media's historically biased coverage, it doesn't give any Tea Party candidate the right to use similarly disgusting tactics against the media especially when an honest Journalist is attempting to ask a legitimate question that's important to the voters (or should be).
Besides, it makes the Tea Party seem hypocritical, doesn't it? Worse, it forces us to consider the potential negative side of a Tea Party-run Washington DC I think.
Could the very movement that many believe will "save" this nation actually lead to its ultimate ruin in an ironic twist of fate as punishment for our country's sins from our sovereign Lord Himself? Might we one day see Tea Party totalitarians and totalitarianism as the norm?
Food for thought and something to take to the Lord in prayerful consideration.

Mark 16:15 (KJV) And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
1 Corinthians 1:17 (KJV) For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
Galatians 1:8 (KJV) But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

1. Continue to attack the movement and its candidates/supporters as "bigots", "racists", "terrorists" whatever because that will anger people so much that it will actually help increase membership recruiting as well as financial donations to their cause. Generally, this kind of coverage comes from the Liberal Left.
2. Continue to promote the movement and its candidates/supporters as true "America-loving patriots", "Christians", "common sense citizens" because that will please people so much that it too will actually help increase membership recruiting as well as financial donations to their cause. Generally, this kind of coverage comes from the Conservative Right.

James 1:19-26 (KJV) Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth [therein], he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion [is] vain.

I don't think the elections are going to matter much soon. I just got done reading this from Steve Quayle. To read more, click on his website below. Take it to prayer everyone. God Bless.
The Day The Earth Stands Still: In speaking to my Asian source last night it became clear that the FED is buying time for the Day of The event--"you are hearing a pre-amble of panic attacks (again) to securitize one's investment. The FED is vetting out all possible scenarios. They will stupidly print out more money
against their debt and that is just to keep the lights on around the world. A Weimar replay". He went on to say that even the Billionaire Clients of his are preparing for the inevitable Shutdown and Meltdown of the Worlds Financial System by Thanksgiving at the latest.Nothing like this has ever happened before in History. All day trading will stop--all ability to take Delivery of anything through the mail will end. Day trading and the Stock Market will not be able to function as the Net goes down by DESIGN! There is a Reason why all the Articles in the "Lame stream Media", are writing about the Military being involved so heavily in preparing for the KNOWN CYBER ATTACK that is planned! MARTIAL LAW ,the Military control over of the Country will be implemented as Law and order breaks down and all services from power, water, sewer and STORES CLOSE--ALL TRANSPORTATION(PUBLICS ABILITY TO TRAVEL) is controlled or forbidden and the EARTHS FINANCIAL SYSTEMS COME UNHINGED!

Great post Jeff! We have to remember that we as Christians already have a Kingdom that can never be destroyed. We are living in this kingdom as aliens in a sense. The bible is very clear that all the kingdoms of this world are under the control of the evil one. We must always remember that we are ambassadors of the Kingdom of God and we represent Kingdom values. Violence and overthrow of the established government are not part of our strategy. We must always reflect the beauty of the Lord in everything that we do. God bless you and thanks for the wisdom that you share on these blog posts!
It is good to remember that there will be NO political solution to the problems that are sweeping towards us. It's easy to forget that in the hype and run-up to the election and the revulsion we have for the current administration.
As for the first post, maybe there is something there but remember it looks like he wants to sell precious metals and what better way that abject fear to motivate demand?
I consider myself a Christian, but have never identified with the Republican party (was a Democrat back when I was deluded and didn't know they worked for the same masters). That so many Christians identify themselves with the Republicans really confuses me - especially when the Republican's own logo has 3 upside down Satanic stars in the elephant. Doesn't that say something, anything to people?
Here's the old image which is more clear than the newer one that follows.

And let's not forget the Tea Party is just the same Republican party, not separate at all. When Ron Paul becomes Speaker of the House (and ultimately President during the 2012 Project Blue Beam psyops), don't get your hopes up!
The blogger was detained after he committed assault. He even admitted that he pushed someone:

As for the active duty military question, the article says that they *were* active duty military, which implies to me that they are *former* active duty military (if were = used to be or former). I doubt they are on active duty now.
However, if they are on active duty now, then there might be a variety of problems with that. Did they get permission from their commanding officer for off-duty employment? Are they in compliance with military rules and regulations regarding political activity?
Here is the 2008 version of DoD Directive Number 1344.10 "Political Activities by Member of the Armed Forces":
