What We're Praying/Talking About

Our faith in action, or our small contribution in trying to apply what we're taught in Hebrews 5-6 and James 2:17-26 for the benefit of our dear brothers and sisters within the Body of Christ...

Teaching Apostasy

People think I only attack Catholics in this forum. No, I try to shine the light of truth on the darkness of deceit wherever I find it taking root.

So, if I see the prophesied Apostasy underway in Catholicism I'm going to call it out. If I see it growing in the Episcopal church I'm going to call it out. In fact, if I ever notice any trace of it in my own life I'll hold myself accountable -- often times publicly -- to ensure that I'm not becoming a hypocrite myself. Well, today, I want to call out the Lutheran church on something.

Apostasy and False Converts. Lately, that's what the Lord has placed upon my heart as being a subject I need to examine closely and call the Body's attention to.

With that in mind, this story will bother you especially if you're a parent/grandparent of a college ago child/grandchild who's attending a Christian college.

And we wonder why contemporary Christianity is filled with False Converts? It's because of stories like this one from a few weeks ago...

Christian College Teaches Dorm 'Sex Etiquette' During Freshmen Orientation

ST. PETER, Minnesota, October 8, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) -
An Evangelical Lutheran liberal arts college in Minnesota has raised eyebrows after videos were published exposing the school's sexually-explicit freshman orientation, which includes lessons on dorm “sex etiquette” and some of the finer points of sexual perversion.

Portions of freshman orientation presentations this fall at Gustavus Adolphus College, which is associated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA), were caught on video and posted by Gustavus student Phil Cleary on the Gustavus.campusreform.org website.

The videos show an unsettling lineup of performances, which include two students mock-simulating sex during a lesson on how to "warn" roommates that you’re having sex in the dorm, and others extolling homosexuality and even pansexuality.

(WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT!)

NOTE: I'm only including the video in this post to PROVE to the naysayers that I'm not making this story up, and that it's not being blown out of proportion either. You be the judge of what you're about to hear and see here with your own ears and eyes. Unbelievable if you ask me. A Christian college should not be engaging in such productions. As a 31-year-old not that far removed from college himself, I can tell you that this production is almost a CARBON COPY of the one I had to attend my first week of school on campus...back in 1997! So much for Christians being separate from the world, huh?

Freshman Orientation At Gustavus

"Pansexual means we just love one another! Man or woman, male or female, doesn't matter, my brother," says one performer.

"I've never been happier. Every day, from when I wake up until I go to sleep at night, my soul is brimming with joy. My partner's name is Logan, and he and I have been together for six months and 21 days," says one male student. "We're in love. And Logan, I'd gladly spend the rest of my life with you."

One female student discusses the appeal of being lesbian. "I like sex. No, I love sex, and you do too," she says. "I'm normal, right?"

In another portion of the demonstration, students came out on stage dressed up as "characters" representing such things as masturbation, Internet pornography use, birth control and condoms and with such names including Right Hand Rick, Debbie Dildo, and Birth Control Betty.

Another skit explains the difference among various forms of aberrant sexuality, labeled "LGPBBTTQ&A."

On its website, Gustavus calls itself "a community where a mature understanding of the Christian faith and lives of service are nurtured and students are encouraged to work toward a just and peaceful world."

Cleary quoted Lutheran Pastor Rebecca Heber on the Campus Majority Blog calling the videos "graphic and, in my opinion, vulgar, appalling, disturbing, tasteless, degrading, and completely unbefitting the sacred trust given to a Christian college and an institution of the ELCA."

Matt Thomas, Gustavus College Media Relations Director, told LifeSiteNews.com that he would direct a request for comment to college president Jack Ohle, but said he would likely decline.

"The types of organizations are covering this story - I just don't think we're going to help ourselves by commenting," said Thomas. WorldNetDaily had also sought comment from the college.

A "Christian" college, huh? Sorry. Try another label. Sickening. Just sickening, and sad too.

Reminds me of what we read 2 Timothy...

2 Timothy 3:5 (KJV) Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Count me in as one who is going to "turn away" while praying for God to show them their sins.

Lord come quickly.

Totally revolting, coming from a supposed Christian College. Be careful where you send your kids. Check the schools out thoroughly before sending your check.

This is nothing new for the ELCA. They've been this way for 20+ years. They've always been extremely liberal.
