Steven M. Collins had this exchange on his website recently...
Well stated. Don't you think?
From a reader:
Rev 20:7-9 mentions Gog and Magog war, how does this relate to what is spoken of in Ezekiel 38?
Ron
My response:
Dear Ron,
The Gog-Magog wars of Ezekiel 38-39 and Revelation 20 are two different wars. The Ezekiel 38-39 war occurs in the “latter days” prior to the millennium/ Messianic Age, while the Revelation 20 war occurs at the very end of the millennium. The Ezekiel 38-39 war states the Gog-Magog alliance attacks the nations of the house of Israel while the Gog-Magog alliance attacks a city of righteous saints at the end of the millennium. These are clearly two different wars fought against two different targets approximately 1000 years apart from each other.

The fact that Gog-Magog is mentioned in two different passages of prophetic Scripture has traditionally given students of end times Bible prophecy fits!
Typically, people hold to one entrenched position or the other rather than taking God's Word at its word and applying some basic common sense to the debate.
I just never heard it addressed so Scripturally and succinctly before. Two different wars.

Thank you Jeff for your hard work and dedication; this site has been a tremendous blessing to me over the last 2-years! I always considered the Gog/Magog war of Ezekiel 38/39 to a "pre-Daniel 7-weeks" event, until I read a book by Dave Hunt where he believes it is the same event as Armageddon. Specifically, it is interesting how Ezekiel's war ends in a massive world wide earthquake (E 38:19), and the Lord reveals Himself to all nations (E 28:23). I realize that most are seeing this event line up now, and are eager to point out Russia's role in it. Personal opinion however, but I believe that the "church" is being distracted by Islam and the anticipation of the Psalm 83 and Ezekial wars, when the real event to be considered and warned against is the coming great delusion of 2 Thess 2:11. Seriously, I believe the Bible clearly indicates a pre-Trib rapture. I also believe the enemy has been conditioning the world for over 30-years to write off the event due to phrases such as "beam me up Scotty". When this event happens, and the fallen angels are allowed to manifest in entirety, those who are still here will have no idea what's going on, i.e. who the Genesis 6 sons of God really are. Thanks again!
