I love the forcefulness in the simplicity of this quote that espouses clear Biblical truth.
Does such a truth disgust you? I pray that's not the case.
I know such a quote is hardly consistent with the kind of 'seeker-sensitive' drivel we hear so often from Christians and pulpits these days (the kind that tickles ears; 2 Timothy 4:3-4), but the above statement is 100% pure Gospel truth.
Besides, if you're a Christian, then why would you recoil at this picture of Christ the King when He returns in righteous judgment based on what His Word promises you if you love His appearing?
What I love about 2 Timothy 4 is how it reminds us that the crown of believers is "a crown of righteousness" that was purchased by the righteousness of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
No, we believers don't have it just yet, but it is already waiting for us if we demonstrate a love for His appearing by preaching the Word without pulling any punches.

"He [Jesus Christ] is not coming to play games. He is not coming to be docile. He is coming to dominate, and He is coming to slaughter...He is the King of kings and He is the Lord of lords -- and at the end of this age He will bolt out of Heaven on a white steed -- and His garments are dripped in blood, the blood of His own enemies -- and He is coming back to conquer and to damn."

2 Timothy 4:8 (KJV) Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
