I think most of the Old Testament prophets would share your grief!! They too had their share of mockers and the grief of being unable to reach through the fog of denial. Of course, we look through our end-time glasses and know if people are not changed now, they may, in fact, never get the chance. That's why we feel the great urgency and even greater sadness when we see warnings met with apathy or mockery.

The thing we need to remember is that WE in our own power can never save a single person, not even ourselves. All we can do is broadcast our seeds of Truth and let the Holy Spirit tend to the growth. We can never change the soil of men's hearts. So, if a rocky soil is changed to a planting soil, we thank God that He did a great work and that person is ready to accept Yeshua as his personal savior. Therefore, the seeds we planted will take root, grow and produce fruit that spreads seeds to others.

We must remember that Yeshua knew that not all will be saved. So, we grieve as he did for the lost opportunities not because of anything we did or didn't do, but because that person still has free will.
